To be an active member of the Waikato Water Industry and actively engage with appropriate national technical body (e.g. IPENZ, WNZ). Personally deliver technical project work; To provide leadership and direction to Water Infrastructure Engineering team. Have ownership of and responsibility for, championing, implementing and revising the Strategic Plan for the WWTE business. Actively drive the successful delivery of infrastructure project in either technical lead, project manager or project director roles. Key Results Area 1. Project Management Act as Technical Leader, Project Manager or Project Director for water infrastructure projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet client's explicit and implicit needs. Apply best practice to project management according to Our Way and specific initiatives being developed within the Northern Design Hub.
2 This may include auditing, monitoring and troubleshooting (all to be undertaken as project cost activities); Actively seek feedback from clients and project teams reflecting on the performance of the team and apply knowledge learning principles. Select and coach project team members to maximise their enjoyment and ensure successful project outcomes. Regularly communicate with the client to ensure their expectations are met. Assist project team members to reflect on their performance and apply knowledge learning principles 2. Commercial Take a lead role in expanding the urban water business nationally, to achieve agreed objectives set by the Business Manager for the following performance measures: Revenue Profitability (EBIT) Payroll Utilisation Cash Collection Achieve a level of productivity of 60% (ratio E) to agreed performance objectives and client satisfaction in terms of quality, cost and time. Assist Business Group / Work Group Managers, National Technical Directors in the development of marketing plans for selected clients including objectives, strategies and actions. Prepare expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, project proposals/bids, fee estimates and project work programmes and budgets. Assist with the development of the business where required. Develop and maintain a professional profile with key clients and the engineering community generally (including the publishing and/or presentation of papers). Identify market opportunities and undertake marketing initiatives, to fully exploit the resources and special skills of the group, and help develop and promote new, innovative, environmental services to both internal and external clients. Actively undertake business development and marketing, with the aim of creating income streams for the wider team. Ensure there is appropriate and effective relationship management for all clients that provides: (i) a clear understanding of their business and solutions required to meet both their immediate and future business needs; and (ii) early identification of work prospects to meet or exceed business plan targets. Maintain appropriate high level contact with clients. Ensure the delivery to all clients of a service that provides effective business solutions on time and within budget 3. Strategic and Business Development Have a regular presence in Regional Business Network (RBN) offices. Front and lead major prospects/opportunities and bids. Prepare expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, project proposals/bids, fee estimates and project work programmes and budgets. Provide information and assistance to BGM's/WGM's/Cluster Managers on recruitment to support growth and development.
3 4. Technical Be prepared to adapt and change direction as a result of changing markets and opportunities. Human Resource Management Assist the Business Group / Work Group Manager to develop business development skills in the Hamilton Environmental team. Work in full cooperation with team members, other Environment Hamilton, and Design Hub North staff to build a strong team ethos capable of delivering high quality resource management and strategic policy services to clients. Assist in coaching staff, helping them to reach their full potential. Assisting the Business Group / Work Group Manager in ensuring staff are fully utilized in their field of expertise. Maintain effective contact and good relationships within the group, other staff in Environmental Hamilton office and other Opus staff and outside organisations to improve working relationships and productivity. 6. Health & Safety Contribute on an ongoing basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity. 7. Personal Development Be aware of and implement latest project management and client management techniques. Continuously challenge what you do and why. Be aware of and apply latest technical developments in your field. Maintain and extend your own skills through continuing education and equivalent personal endeavour (including reading current literature). Regularly reflect on your own performance, and apply new ways of doing things. Regularly learn something new in your field of expertise and apply it.
