2 This presentation is designed to help small business owners at all levels of Internet experience achieve the following: An awareness of the current web presence for their business How to establish and maintain an effective web presence in the least amount of time possible.

3 Even if your Internet skill level is like First Day on the Internet Kid (quickmeme.com) You will still learn some valuable Internet marketing skills.

4 What does web presence mean? How your business is found and represented across multiple channels: Search engines (Google & Bing) Video sharing sites (YouTube) Photo sharing sites (Flickr, Pinterest) Social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter) Business networking sites (LinkedIn) Blogs (only if you have something good to say frequently) Location- based services (Foursquare) Industry content channels (Trulia, Zillow, Realtor.com)

6 Who or what sees your web presence on all these channels? 1. The people already using these channels 2. GOOGLE! Google finds your presence on all these channels and can return your presence on these channels in search results. ALSO, it will give your website a higher Page Ranking (PR) if it finds a strong presence for your business across all these channels

7 What 3 tools do I need to maintain my web presence? 1. Google Analytics (if you have a website) FREE 2. A folder of bookmarks and a bookmark synching tool (I use Xmarks) xmarks.com FREE 3. Hootsuite for simultaneous updating. FREE

8 Video & Photo Sharing: YouTube acts as a Platform for storing and converting videos upload, tag and geotag with keywords, share link on your Facebook, Craigslist, etc. do both short (3 0 sec. - 1 min.) and extended versions of your videos Flicker upload photos, tag and geotag with your keywords can share/ embed photo gallery for each listing

9 Pinterest 3 rd most- used social media platform after Facebook and Twitter Almost entire user base is women You don't upload photos; you pin them from other online sources Most content is about home décor, cooking, fashion Would work for retail businesses Easy to do and free Craigslist Easy and free

10 Blogs Having a blog is very effective for organic SEO; however, it all depends on what terms you want to rank more highly for and how competitive those terms are Blogging requires that you are able to say something original, say it well, and say it often. Most people can't do this. WordPress is the oldest and most popular blogging platform ecape has several WordPress design packages

11 Google Plus Google's lame version of Facebook. It's getting to be less of a ghost town but there are still some tumbleweeds blowing around. Why bother? Easy to set up a page, can update simultaneously when you use Hootsuite, and rumor has it that it's good for your overall SEO profile. Can update status using Hootsuite. LinkedIn An awesome tool. 1. Connect with prospects as a way to maintain contact 2. Join local LinkedIn groups for professional support 3. Use Rofo, an app that's free, to show your listings on your profile page. 4. Can update status using Hootsuite.

12 Facebook Post not just promotional info, but informative, funny or entertaining industry - related material to gain more likers. An option for making sure certain posts get seen: do a sponsored post ($ $2 0 ). Can also do ads to get likers or clicks to your website. Can update Facebook from Hootsuite. Twitter Try appending the hashtags # capecod or to your tweets Can update Twitter from Hootsuite.
