6 Capacity Individuals 160 Facilities Fully Equipped Bar PA System / Recorded Music Access Via Level One Foyer Stairways Lift from Level One The Deck overlooks busy Mitchell Street giving you a perfect view over the city. Equipped with full bar facilities and overhead fans to keep you cool in the tropical weather, the Deck is the perfect spot for a drinks reception, a post event function or a private party. Capacity Reception 600 Exhibition Approx. 12 3x2m booths Facilities Fully Equipped Bar PA System / Recorded Music Access Via Level One Foyer Stairways Door to Holiday Inn Esplanade Complex Lift from Level One Direct access from Playhouse A light and airy space with a stunning cathedral ceiling and vast windows overlooking Mitchell Street, the Level Two Foyer is suited to a variety of functions. It can be hired alone or for use in conjunction with other spaces within the Centre. Catering Morning/afternoon tea can be provided by the Centre at a cost of $5.50 per head/session or $7.00 for tea/coffee with assorted gourmet tarts or cakes. Full catering services can be organised if required, please contact us with your requirements to receive a quote. Costs and Charges Rental fee includes the cost of power and air-conditioning, but excludes staff costs. Deck Rental Fee: $75.00 per hour (for a minimum of 3 hours) Level 2 Foyer Rental Fee: $ per hour (minimum of 3 hrs) or $ per day (10 hours) The above rates assume hire is not in conjunction with other spaces. The level one foyer can be hired in conjunction with the level two foyer at a cost of $50 per day. The Level 2 foyer is $ per day when hired with either the Studio or the Playhouse. Staff Charges For all functions a Front of House Supervisor must be present at a cost of $45.00 per hour (minimum of 3 hours). Bar staff can also be provided at a cost of $33.00 per person per hour (minimum of 3 hours).

Costs and charges Cost includes the above technical equipment and room set up, air-conditioning, electricity and unrestricted access. Cost per hour: $60.00 (minimum of 3 hours) Cost per day: $ (unrestricted hours) The Level One Foyer may be hired in conjunction with the Exhibition Gallery at a cost of $50.00 per day. The above costs do not include staff to be present at the event, should staff be required a cost of $45.00 per staff per hour (minimum of 3 hours) applies. The centre is open from 9:00am 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Hirers during these hours will have full access to the Level One Foyer bathrooms. Hirers outside these hours have access to the facilities in the Holiday Inn Esplanade foyer and must enter and exit the Gallery via the Mitchell Street entrance.
8 Additional Information For All Bookings A 5 day hire attracts a 10% discount in rental charges for the Playhouse and Studio Theatres. All quoted rates refer to a standard week, Public Holiday rates supplied on application. Deposit A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is required upon confirmation of a booking. In the event of cancellation of confirmed bookings the Hirer shall remain liable for all charges due unless the Centre can re-let the date or dates. If the Centre re-lets the date or dates, the Hirer will be notified in writing and the cancellation fee, namely 1 days rental and all costs incurred, still applies (refer to Clause 8.6 of the Terms and Conditions of Hire, available upon request). 80% of the total booked rental at least one week prior to commencement of the hire. The deposit and a copy of the signed contract are required before a booking can be confirmed. Cancellation Fees Forfeiture of deposit plus all costs incurred and committed to. Time Over-runs Per Day Hire The Hirer will be required to pay 5% of the basic rental, for each and every half hour or part thereof where there is a time over-run of the agreement. Per Hour Hire The Hirer will be required to pay 50% of the basic rental, for each and every half hour or part thereof where there is a time over-run of the agreement. Public Liability Insurance Playhouse If required, $55.00 for the first day of occupancy and $10.00 per day thereafter. Studio If required, $55.00 for the first day of occupancy and $10.00 per day thereafter. Staffing Charges Staff requirements in addition to those already provided for within the hire rates are charged at the following rates: Technical Staff $38.00 per hour Ushers $33.00 per hour Security/Cleaning Staff* $33.00 per hour *Management reserves the right to engage security staff at the Hirer s expense. Phone, fax and clerical services As incurred includes calls made on behalf of the hirer by staff. Data/Video Projector Playhouse $330 per day $360 if with DVD player Studio and Gallery $220 per day $250 if with DVD player Lap Top Computer $160 per day. DVD Player $50 per day. Additional Technical Equipment Additional equipment required in lieu of the standard technical facilities outlined in the venue technical specifications of the venue are charged as incurred plus a 15% administration levy. Level One and Two Foyers and Deck The Foyers are available for receptions, media conferences and public meetings, and can be used to exhibit trade displays and booths. Hire of the Level One and Two Foyers in conjunction with hire of the Playhouse Theatre is $200 per day.
9 Undercover parking Parking is available undercover for a nominal cost within the Holiday Inn Esplanade complex or ample street parking can be found along the Esplanade, Mitchell and adjacent streets. Disabled access Access for disabled persons is via a ramp from Mitchell Street and a lift to the Level Two Foyer. Infra red audio enhancing equipment for patrons with hearing disabilities is available in both theatres and seats can be removed to accommodate wheelchairs. Backstage accommodation All backstage accommodations have air-conditioning, program relay and call facilities and bathroom facilities. The Green Room is equipped with a fridge, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities and is available to hirers. Marketing services The publicity department can handle all your advertising needs for a fraction of the cost of an outside agency. This includes preparation, make up and placement of advertising and the organizing of television and radio coverage. The Centre enjoys competitive rates with The Northern Territory News and local television stations. Catering Services The Centre has bar areas and spaces available for catering of all types of functions. Catering facilities are not available in-house; however the Centre can arrange this on your behalf. Alternatively, we can recommend Dee Bee Catering on or dee@deebeecatering.com.au who will be able to provide you with a quote. The Darwin Entertainment Centre is a licensed venue and can provide full bar services according to your requirements. Box office services The Centre has a fully computerized ticketing system and offers excellent box office service, a separate phone number ensuring smooth operation. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 5:30pm, and bookings can be made by mail, fax, phone or in person. Accommodation The Darwin Entertainment Centre is centrally situated in the CBD. We have a specially reduced rate with the Mantra Hotels in the city, the Mantra on the Esplanade is located a 5 minute stroll from our venue and the Mantra Pandanas a 15 minute walk through the city. Should you like to take advantage of our reduced rates please send through your accommodation requests at the time of booking and a quote shall be obtained on your behalf. We are also located next door to The Holiday Inn Esplanade complex, and within walking distance from most of the major hotels. Goods and Services Tax: All prices quoted within this document are inclusive of GST. As defined in A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (the Act), Darwin Entertainment Centre shall charge GST to the recipient of a supply and shall issue to the recipient an appropriate Tax Invoice, as required by the Act, the details of which shall include the price or value of the goods and/or services being supplied, plus the GST computed on the price or value of that supply. Further, hirers must confirm that they are registered, or are required to be registered, pursuant to Division 23 of the Act.
