2 ABOUT FESTAFRICA FestAfrica is the Flagship program of the Afropolitan Youth Association (AYA) of Maryland. FestAfrica is the largest African festival in the Maryland, DC and Virginia area with over 8,000 attendees FestAfrica is a cultural event that brings together the African community across Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia (DMV) to celebrate African arts and culture. Festival attendees learn about Africa through the music, art, food and fashion marks the 13 th year anniversary of FestAfrica which takes place over a 2-day period, August 8 th -9 th. With a theme of African Health in the Community, FestAfrica this year will incorporate a focus on health in the African community in the DMV and beyond. The success of FestAfrica is centered around performances by local and international artists representing various regions of Africa, cultural dances, African food, over 50 vendors, children s games, arts, crafts, health booths and a host of activities that appeals to the community.

3 The festivals audience is very diverse with over 80% of the attendees representing the African immigrant population and African American community. FESTAFRICA SPONSORSHIP The 2015 festival gives sponsors the opportunity to make meaningful connections with consumers by providing prime locations on the plaza to allow sponsors to directly engage with attendees interested in their business. Sponsors benefit from promotional platforms such as social media, print, radio, website and a carefully crafted PR campaign. We encourage sponsors to be creative in the use of the tent space provided on the plaza with activities such as games, giveaways or presentations. FestAfrica offers sponsors the option to receive additional visibility by sponsoring the awards program FestAfrica Honors which recognizes the achievements of Africans in the Diaspora.

Tents for sponsors are positioned strategically around the main stage and close to the entrance to the plaza for increased interaction with attendees. Festival attendees are able to walk around easily and are able to engage with our sponsors as well as vendors.
