INTRODUCTION The International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) together with the Czech Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SFDP) would like to welcome all delegates to the XXIII ISPRS Congress in Prague The Congress will run for 8 days, from July 12 to July 19, Thanks to the central European location of the host city of Prague and its easy accessibility, the XXIII ISPRS Congress will bring together a great number of scientists and industry professionals. In the enchanting ambiance of this unique UNESCO World Heritage City a premium scientific, educational, technical and social program will take place. MARKETING AND PR STRATEGY Prague, the host destination of the XXIII ISPRS Congress, besides other, indisputably has one great advantage: its geographic location within Europe is a guarantee of easy accessibility by all means of transportation which is one of the factors why a high delegate attendance is expected in The presence of a large professional audience opens space for a great set of marketing opportunities providing excellent exposure to both sponsors and exhibitors prior to and during the Congress. Lena Halounová, the Congress Director, has been taking part in many conferences, symposia and congresses in the entire world to invite people from academia, mapping agencies and private sector since 2012 (see MAIN GOAL ISPRS's role in promoting international cooperation for the advancement of photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences has expanded significantly over recent years. ISPRS is associated with many organizations such as United Nations (e.g. COPUOS, OOSA, UNESCO), UN related organizations (e.g. ICSU) and other organizations (e.g. JBGIS, GEO, CEOS, IAA, ISO and OGC). This role has been combined with widespread advertisement of the Congress all over the world. It will attract a high number of new participants both from academia, and private companies and national mapping agencies. It creates a new large market opportunities in various parts of the world. 5 1.3. INVITATION BY THE ISPRS PRESIDENT Established in 1910, ISPRS is the oldest international umbrella organization in its field, which may be summarized as addressing information from imagery. It aims at advancing knowledge and enhancing international cooperation in photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences, through a variety of scientific and technological activities. One of the most important ISPRS events is the quadrennial Congress that culminates and demonstrates the latest developments and progress that many researchers, scientists, practitioners and administrators have achieved in the four years period. In July 2016, the XXIII ISPRS Congress will be hosted by Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, the picturesque city with more than one million inhabitants with the oldest Technical University in the world. People will travel across the world and come back to the centre of Europe after the Netherlands in 2000, Istanbul in 2004, China in 2008 and Melbourne in The organizers are ready to prepare a successful event for all who are interested in themes connected to Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and all Spatial Sciences. These themes bridge spatial scales from the merest details to worldwide scales, application of spheres as nature, time scales from one instant to tens of years, techniques, constructions, history, medicine, etc. These congresses enable us to see the advances in all range of branches both in the theoretical and practical side every four years. THE VENUE PCC - Prague Congress Centre, H1 - Holiday Inn, H2 - Hotel Corinthia The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) was opened in 1981, and belongs to the domains of the city offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Prague Castle. The PCC is among one of the important European convention centres offering sufficient capacity for delegates in more than 50 meeting rooms and an extensive exhibition area. The largest plenary room, the Congress Hall, can accommodate delegates and besides other practicalities, it offers quite unique acoustics. The PCC is a great venue for holding events of all kinds conventions, congresses, conferences, seminars, business meetings and presentations, exhibitions and fairs or any social, cultural and gastronomic events. There are almost 800 guest rooms in 4 or 5 star hotels in the immediate vicinity of the PCC, however, the venue is conveniently located just 2 stops by underground from the very centre. Besides numerous international medical, pharmaceutical, scientific and other professional congresses and conventions, the PCC hosted some very prestigious international events such as the Annual Meeting of the IMF and the World Bank Group (2000), NATO Summit (2002) or the major meetings during the Czech Presidency of the EU (2009). 9 4. AREA RESERVATION & REGISTRATION 4.1. EXHIBITOR REGISTRATION AREA RESERVATION All Exhibitors must complete the F1 form, sign it and send it via to prague.com. Exhibitor will then receive an invoice and after the reception of the payment the exhibition area will be booked. The stand equipment and freight are to be ordered separately at Exposales, s.r.o. via the forms F2-F20 in the Exhibitor Manual Stands & Freight. The deadline for the Exhibitor Area reservation is 9 th June ONSITE EXHIBITOR REGISTRATION All Exhibitors are requested to register onsite at the Registration desk at the PCC and collect their Exhibitor badges. For onsite Registration desk opening hours please refer to the section 3.2 IMPORTANT DATES EXHIBITOR BADGES Exhibitor badges will be provided to the registered stand personnel and should be worn at all times during the Exhibition hours. Two Exhibitor badges will be included within the price of basic stand size (3x3 sq. m. or 2x4 sq. m.). Final number of Exhibitor badges will depend on the total purchased Exhibition area. Exhibitor badges will allow access to the Exhibition area, Welcome reception, Exhibitor reception and to all sessions or congress related program items. Any Exhibitor may order additional Exhibitor badges at EUR 410,00 till 9 th June Later purchase of the additional Exhibitor badges will be charged incl. an additional 25% late fee. Exhibitor badges will be available for collection onsite at the Registration Desk at the PCC as of 11 th July 2016 (please refer to the section 3.2 IMPORTANT DATES for Exhibitor Registration Desk opening hours). Work passes will be provided to all Exhibitors staff directly responsible for set up and dismantling of the stands. Such staff will be allowed to access the Exhibition area during construction and dismantling times. Exhibitors can access the Exhibition area with their Exhibitor badges during construction and dismantling times. Access to the Exhibition area without a Congress Badge or Work Pass will be denied. EXHIBITOR VISA EU citizens and nationals of Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland holding a travel document or a national ID card may reside in the territory of the Czech Republic on a temporary basis without any additional permit. Citizens of the following non-eu countries are exempt from visa requirement: Citizens of the following non-eu countries are required to apply for visa: Visa (Schengen short term visa) are issued by a diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic or of another Schengen state entitles its holder to stay in the territory of the Czech Republic/Schengen area for the period indicated in the visa. Please note that the visa application procedure may take up to 60 days. EXHIBITION AREA Exhibition area for the construction of Exhibition stands is not included in the stand price and must be purchased separately. Minimum size of the Exhibition area is 8 sq. m. (for a shell scheme stand 2x4 m) or 9 sq. m. (for a shell scheme stand 3x3 m) and is available at the following rates: AREA BASIC STAND DIMENSIONS PRICE NOTE 8 sq. m. 2 x 4 sq. m.
