3 design Located adjacent to Aston Martin s manufacturing and engineering centre, the new 2,700 m 2 Design Studio is state of theart, to reflect the quality and craftsmanship of the cars we build. The Director of Design oversees a team of 45 multi disciplinary employees a small team of designers and studio engineers work alongside a mix of traditional clay sculptors, computer modellers and craftsmanship specialists. Together they work through the process of creating a unique, iconic sports car and luxury products, from initial sketch ideation to the finished product. Applicants must have studied a relevant Creative Design degree. Product Development There are graduate vacancies available within our dynamic and exciting Product Development team. Graduates will have the opportunity to work in Powertrain, Chassis, Body and Electrical Engineering; also in Vehicle Integration and Programme management. The role of Product Development (PD) is to manage the entire new product introduction process from concept planning through to launch all within the umbrella of the Aston Martin Product Creation System (AMPCS). At the heart of this process is the detailed design and development of the product from model year upgrades through to complete new vehicle lines. Based on the unique VH Platform architecture, we use state of the art CAD/CAE tools to engineer much of the car in the virtual world before the final verification and tuning phase using pre production vehicles. 4 Commercial A variety of opportunities exists within the Aston Martin Commercial functions, which covers Marketing, Sales, After Sales, and Merchandising and Licensing. Aston Martin is an iconic British brand, with world recognition growing all the time. This function focuses on influencing everything from the formulation of new model concepts within the product marketing area, through to delivery of worldclass customer service and support internally and externally through our Dealer network. Applicants can be from any business degree discipline. it IT today plays a critical role as a core business enabler, driving ERP, CRM and PLM strategies and implementations, as well as supporting the new era of Digital, Mobile and Social Media strategies. The IT function also plays a crucial role operationally, in providing IT support to all users within the business and continuously strives to provide effective and fit for purpose IT solutions to all reaches of the enterprise. As we develop and implement new systems and networks, now is a great time to be involved in IT projects, to ensure that Aston Martin s IT systems and fundamental business processes enable the business to maintain its competitive edge. 5 strategy & planning The role of Strategy and Planning within Aston Martin is to lead the development of all business and product strategies and support planning activities whilst ensuring enterprise wide compatibility. The department also has responsibility for Governmental Affairs. Applicants can be from any business degree discipline. PURCHASING The Purchasing Department is responsible for the selection and management of all external suppliers to the business. It is involved primarily in the commercial and contract management of these suppliers and ensuring that all products and services purchased, meet the demanding quality, cost and delivery requirements of Aston Martin. The Department has a direct impact upon Company profitability, and its team members are relied upon to professionally develop and maintain competitive, stable, long term supply agreements with its supplier base. These agreements will help Aston Martin to achieve greater commercial success in the future. 6 quality Within Quality at Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, our Engineers have a wide range of roles and responsibilities, engaging all areas of the business, from Design, Purchasing, Product Development, Launch teams, Manufacturing, After Sales, Dealerships and our Supplier Base. Worldwide travel, constant interaction with people and the drive to make the highest quality sports cars in the world requires flexible engineers with good communication and teamwork skills and a thirst for problem solving. From the development of parts with our design department and supplier management with the purchasing department, we help bring new products into production. Then at the plants in Gaydon (England) and Graz (Austria) the Quality Engineers work closely with our manufacturing colleagues and monitor the success of the end product via our After Sales and network of dealerships worldwide. This ensures a wide ranging and absorbing job experience. FINANCE The role of Finance is vital to a successful business. As a graduate, you will be involved in multifunctional teams ensuring that new model programs meet budgeted profitability, operational budgets for headcount and expenditure are not exceeded and the financial health of the business is maintained. Rotation within the Finance function will make you a well experienced financial professional. Applicants should preferably have a degree in business, accountancy, mathematics or economics. 7 manufacturing There are opportunities within Manufacturing and whether you will be working in Manufacturing Operations or Manufacturing Engineering, it will be your role to ensure that quality is kept at a high standard. As an engineer, you will design quality processes that are robust, transferable and ensure the end user receives a quality product. You will also become familiar with our SQDCME culture which is based around safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale and environment in the production area. Applicants must have studied a relevant engineering degree. HR A role within HR requires you to act in a consultancy and advisory capacity, ensuring adherence to all legal and best practice obligations including employment law, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, succession planning/ talent management/ career development, and change management/restructuring. Acting as a change agent in driving organisational (particularly cultural) change and working in partnership with key leaders within the business, you will drive people related change whilst building effective working relationships at all levels of the business.
