CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture Netwrk (Dmain) Installatin Instructins Dcument # Prduct Mdule Categry 2257 CenterPint CenterPint Installatin This dcument describes the dmain netwrk installatin prcess fr CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture. Server Setup Nte: It is imprtant that CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture is running at the server cmputer first befre setting up the client wrkstatins; including database migratins, creating new databases, r attaching t existing databases. If yu are installing CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture n a Terminal Services server: Switch Terminal Services t Install Mde: Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open bx, type cmd, and then click OK. At the cmmand prmpt, type change user /install, and then press Enter. The User sessin is ready t install applicatins message displays. Type exit, and then press Enter. Fllw Steps 1-15 n the server. Switch Terminal Services back t Execute Mde: Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open bx, type cmd, and then click OK. At the cmmand prmpt, type change user /execute, and then press Enter. The User sessin is ready t execute applicatins message displays. Type exit, and then press Enter. In each firewall running n the server, the fllwing exceptins must be cnfigured: UDP Prt 1434. SQLServr.exe (default lcatin f the file is C:\Prgram Files\Micrsft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Binn\SQLServr.exe) SQLBrwser.exe (default lcatin f the file is C:\Prgram Files\Micrsft SQL Server\90\Shared\SQLBrwser.exe) Nte: If mre than ne instance f this file exists, then mre than ne exceptin must be made. T verify if multiple instances exist, cunt the number f MSSQL.X r MSSQL$$X flders there are in the C:\Prgram Files\Micrsft SQL Server flder. Wrkstatin Setup All wrkstatins need t be a member f the Dmain that the server is a part f. Fllw Steps 1 12 and 16-23 n the fllwing pages n all wrkstatins that will be using CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture. Please clse all ther prgrams n yur cmputer prir t perfrming the installatin. Step 1: Make sure that all anti-virus, firewall, and any ther security sftware are shut dwn prir t installing CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture. If any f these sftware applicatins are running, the server installatin may be interrupted and will cause the installatin t fail. Insert the CenterPint fr Accunting fr Agriculture CD int yur CD drive. Wait while the cntents f the setup package are verified. Step 1A: If yu receive an Applicatins Requirements screen, click Next t cntinue. Nte: Yu may receive an Applicatins Requirements screen that describes requirements necessary fr the successful installatin f CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture. If yu receive this screen, click Next t install the necessary requirements. Wait while the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture requirements are installed. Step 2: On the Welcme screen, click Next t cntinue. Step 3: On the License Agreement screen, select the I accept the terms f the license agreement check bx, and then click Next t cntinue. Step 4: By default, the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture applicatin will install t C:\Prgram Files\Red Wing Sftware\CenterPint. We recmmend this default. On the Destinatin Flder screen, click Next.. Step 5: On the Select Prgram Flder screen, yu shuld generally accept the default prgram flder lcatin by clicking Next. On the Cmpleting screen, click Next t cntinue. Step 6: Please wait while CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture is installed. On the Cmpleting screen, yu can immediately start CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture after the installatin by leaving the Run CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture nw check bx selected. Step 7: Click Finish. If yu are prmpted t restart yur cmputer, please d s at yur earliest cnvenience. If yu did nt chse t run CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture, n yur Desktp, duble-click the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture icn. Step 8: On the Cnfiguratin Manager screen, click OK. On the Server: Step 10: If yu are using the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture prduct fr a 30-day trial perid, n the Registratin screen, click Cntinue and skip Steps 11 12 and Steps 14-15. OR If yu want t register the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture sftware, n the Registratin screen, click Online. On the Wrkstatin: If yu are using the CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture prduct fr a 30-day trial perid, n the Registratin screen, click Cntinue and skip Steps 11 12, cntinue with Steps 16 21, and then skip steps 22 23. OR If yu want t register the CenterPint Accuting fr Agriculture sftware, n the Registratin screen, click Online. Step 11: On the Registratin Online Frm: If yu are currently a member f the Red Wing Sftware Web site, enter yur Username and Passwrd, then click Lgin t access the nline prduct registratin. Or If yu are a new member f the Red Wing Sftware Web site, click the New Member Registratin link. On the Cmpany Infrmatin screen, enter the required infrmatin, and then click Next. Or If yu are currently a member f the Red Wing Sftware Web site and yu frgt yur Username and Passwrd, click the Frgt Lgin Inf link. After yu receive yur Username and Passwrd via yur e-mail address, enter yur Username and Passwrd, and then click Lgin t access the nline prduct registratin. On the next Registratin Online Frm screen, yur registratin infrmatin will display, click Next. Step 12: On the next Registratin Online Frm screen, click Email t receive a cpy f this infrmatin via yur e-mail address. Save this e-mail. Click OK. Click Clse Frm. Nte: If the nline registratin is nt successful, call 1-800-732-9464 and we will issue a manual registratin key. T register CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture manually, select Help > Prduct Registratin > CenterPint Accunting fr Agriculture Registratin, click Manual, in the Registratin Key bx, enter the registratin key prvided t yu, and then click Save. On the Server Only: Create a new database: Step 13: On the File menu, click New. Fllw the n-screen prmpts. Click Next t mve t the next screen. Click Back t mve t the previus screen. Click Finish Later t temprarily stp the prcess and save all f the existing entries. Nte: Fr mre infrmatin abut creating a new database, see Chapter 2 in the Getting Started Guide. Nte: It is imprtant t create new databases and perfrm data migratins at the server nly. T pen the sample database: On the File menu, click Open. On the Open Database screen, the CenterPint Sample will autmatically be selected, click Open. Federal / State Tax Frms Online Registratin: Select Setup > Cmpanies. Step 14: Select the cmpany yu want t register Federal/State Tax Frms fr and click the Edit buttn. On the General tab, enter cmpany infrmatin fr the cmpany yu are registering Federal / State Tax Frms fr. Select the Additinal Detail tab. In the Federal Tax Id bx, enter yur Federal Identificatin Number. In the Retained Earnings Accunt bx, select a retained earnings accunt (this bx can be changed after yu review yur chart f accunts.) Select Help > Prduct Registratin > Federal / State Tax Frms Registratin. Step 15: On the Aatrix Registratin screen, click Online. Enter yur Username and Passwrd, and then click Lgin. On the Aatrix Prduct Registratin screen, verify/change yur Primary Cmpany EIN and ttal cmpanies yu prcess payrll r accunting recrds fr, and then click Next. At the Registratin Successful message, click OK. Click Clse. Nte: If the nline registratin is nt successful, call 1-800-732-9464 and we will issue a manual registratin key. On the Wrkstatins nly: Select File > Admininstratin > Data Maintenance. Nte: When yu receive a message that the database is pen, click Yes t clse the database. On the Database Maintenance screen, in the bttmleft crner, click Add. Step 16: On the Wrkstatins nly: On the Add Database screen, click Add Server. On the Wrkstatin nly: Step 18: All available servers that yu can cnnect t will display under the Available Server clumn. Frm the Available Server clumn, select the server that yu want this wrkstatin t cnnect t by mving it t the Selected Servers clumn. Nte: This will be the Cmputer Name frm the Wrkstatin Setup sectin n Page 1. Nte: It is smetimes necessary t type in the server machine s IP address t add the machine t the Selected Servers list. Enter the address in the bx next t the Add buttn (fr example, 192.168.1.100\RWS), and then click Add. Click OK. On the Wrkstatin nly: On the Add Database screen, in the Server bx, select the server that yu selected in Step 17. Step 19: On the Wrkstatin nly: On the Add Database screen, in the Available Databases in Server bx, select a database yu want t attach t. Click OK. On the Database Maintenance screen, click OK. Step 20: On the Wrkstatin nly: On the File menu, click Open. On the Open Database screen, select the database that yu want t pen. Click Open. Federal / State Tax Frms Online Registratin: Select Setup > Cmpanies. Select the cmpany yu want t register Federal/State Tax Frms fr and click the Edit buttn. On the General tab, enter cmpany infrmatin fr the cmpany yu are registering Federal / State Tax Frms fr. Select the Additinal Detail tab.
