1 Uninstalling and Reinstalling n a Server Cmputer Medical Directr / PracSft This guide describes the prcess fr uninstalling and then reinstalling Medical Directr, PracSft, and/r SQL Instances n a cmputer that has been designated the Medical Directr and/r PraSft Server. Nte that these instructins are nt relevant t cmputers where Medical Directr and/r PracSft were installed in a Wrkstatin r Mbility scenari. 2 Uninstalling and Reinstalling n a Server Cmputer Uninstalling and Reinstalling n a Server Cmputer Befre Yu Begin Please cntact yur System Administratr if yu need assistance with the fllwing: Ensure yu have the latest full MD/PS CD release. Ensure yu have lgged int Windws with lcal Administrative privileges. If yu participate in HCN GPRN yu will need the HCN GPRN Installer. General Uninstall Prcess fr a Server 1. Perfrm a full backup via HCN Maintenance. If yu encunter any errrs please cntact HCN Technical Supprt. 2. D yu have a custmised (nn-default) installatin f Medical Directr and/r PracSft? If s, make nte f where the fllwing cmpnents are installed this infrmatin is required fr the re-installatin. SQL lcatin. If unsure, check the fllwing: HCN Maintenance > Cmmn > Database Prperties > Database Tab 32-bit OS: HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Server Cmpnents\Database\HCN key 64-bit OS (3.12+): HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432Nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Server Cmpnents\Database\HCN key MD/PS installed lcatin e.g. C drive, D drive 32-bit OS: HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Medical Directr\Path 64-bit OS (3.12+): HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432Nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Medical Directr\Path ManageEzy installed lcatin. If unsure check the cnfiguratin: Open HCN Maintenance > Cnfiguratin, Dcument Server t display the Manage Ezy lcatin 32 Bit OS: HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Manage Ezy Server 64 Bit OS (3.12+): HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432Nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Manage Ezy Server 3. Insert the MD/PS CD. When the Installatin Wizard starts, fllw the prmpts thrugh t the Cmputer Rle Screen a. Click Enabled Advanced Optins and then click Uninstall Rle. Nte: If failures are encuntered during the Uninstall Rle prcess, yu will need t manually uninstall all remaining HCN cntent via Add/Remve Prgrams (XP, 2003) r Prgrams & Features (Vista, Win 7, 2008). 4. Select Start > Cntrl Panel > Add/Remve Prgrams (r Prgrams & Features) a. Uninstall any remaining items beginning with HCN, Manage Ezy r Medicare Online Nte: If yu are unable t uninstall via Add/Remve Prgrams r Prgrams & Features due t Install Shield issues, yu will need t use the Micrsft Installer Cleanup Utility. Reinstall Medical Directr and/r PracSft using the latest MD/PS3 CD, including all HCN updates and MDref updates t match what is installed n the wrkstatin cmputers. Nte: If the cmputer is a Terminal Service cmputer, yu will need t ensure that the Terminal Service Manager (Cntrl Panel > Administratr Tls > Terminal Service Manager) lists nly the Cnsle lgin. N ther lgin shuld be displayed (even if it is in a discnnected state). 5. Install any secndary sftware required (HCN GPRN Extractr, NSW HealthELink, etc). 6. Restre the backup yu created in Step 1, via HCN Maintenance. 7. Run Medical Directr / PracSft t ensure all is wrking crrectly and that the mst recent patient data is available, including any crrespndence recrded. Full Cleanut Prcess fr a Server 1. Perfrm a full backup via HCN Maintenance. If yu encunter any errrs please cntact HCN Technical Supprt. 2. Des the site have a default (C: drive) install f the MD/PS prgram? Yu will need t check and make nte f where the fllwing is installed, fr the reinstallatin. SQL lcatin. Fr example, the Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk flder becmes Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk Fr 32 Bit Operating Systems Flder: C:\Prgram Files\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ Registry Key: HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ Registry Key fr TS sites: HKEY_Current_User > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ 64 Bit Operating Systems (3.12+) Flder: C:\Prgram Files(x86)\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ Registry Key: HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ Registry Key fr TS sites: HKEY_Current_User > WOW6432nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\ 6. Reinstall Medical Directr and/r PracSft using the latest CD. a. Remember t access Advanced Optins during the installatin, if yu d nt use a default C: Drive b. Install all HCN updates and MDref updates t match what is installed n the wrkstatin cmputers. General Uninstall Prcess fr Remving an Instance Nte: If yu use full SQL 2000, full SQL 2005 r full SQL 2008 yu must have full SQL DISKS available t reinstall the instance. 1. Perfrm a full backup via HCN Maintenance. If yu encunter any errrs please cntact HCN Technical Supprt. 2. Determine lcatin f SQL HCN Maintenance > Cmmn > Database Prperties > Database Tab 32 Bit OS: HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Server Cmpnents\Database\HCN key 64 Bit OS (3.12+): HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432Nde\Sftware\Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk\Server Cmpnents\Database\HCN key 3. Uninstall the SQL Instance a. Select Start > Cntrl Panel > Add/Remve Prgrams (r Prgrams & Features) b. Highlight Micrsft SQL 2005 > Change, Remve r Uninstall c. Select Instance (HCNSQL07, ESP, HCNMOB07) > Next > Finish d. Repeat fr any ther instances that need remving Nte: If yu cannt remve these withut errr, return nw t Step 8 befre cntinuing Health Cmmunicatin Netwrk Limited Level 4, 201 Pacific Highway, St Lenards, NSW

(Optinal) If remving due t a damaged instance: 32Bit OS: Rename the C:\Prgram Files\Micrsft SQL Server\MSSQL.* flder 64 Bit OS (3.12+): Rename the C:\Prgram Files (x86)\micrsft SQL Server\MSSQL.* flder 5. If yu use full SQL, yu must recreate the HCNSQL07 and ESP instances. Relevant dcumentatin is available frm HCN Technical Supprt. 6. Insert the MD/PS CD. When the Installatin Wizard starts, fllw the prmpts thrugh t the Cmputer Rle Screen a. Click Repair Rle and click Begin. 7. Restre the backup via HCN Maintenance. 8. Run Medical Directr / PracSft t ensure all is wrking crrectly and that the mst recent patient data is available, including any crrespndence recrded. If errrs ccur during remval: 1. Brwse the Windws Registry and cmplete the fllwing: 32bit Operating Systems HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Micrsft\Micrsft SQL Server Remve the instance name and related MSSQL flder (eg. HCNSQL07 and MSSQL.1). HKey_Lcal_Machine > Sftware\Micrsft \Micrsft SQL Server key Check Installed Instances entry. If Instance name still listed here, duble click the entry and remve ONLY that instance name. HKEY_Lcal_Machine > System > CntrlSet001 > Services Remve the instance name (eg. MSSQL$HCNSQL07 r MSSQL$ESP) 64 Bit Operating Systems (3.12+) Check the 32-bit system Registry lcatins listed abve, and then the fllwing: HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432nde\Sftware > Micrsft > Micrsft SQL Server Remve the instance name and related MSSQL flder (eg. HCNSQL07 and MSSQL.1). HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432nde\Sftware\Micrsft\Micrsft SQL Server key Check Installed Instances entry. If Instance name still listed here, duble click the entry and remve ONLY that instance name. HKey_Lcal_Machine > WOW6432nde\System\CntrlSet001\Services Remve the instance name (eg.
