1 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin The EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Single Sign In (SSI) is the secure, nline applicatin that cntrls access t all f the Department f Early Educatin and Care (EEC) web applicatins. Users f EEC s nline systems including the Prfessinal Qualificatins (PQ) Registry, Prfessinal Certificatin (TQ), the Backgrund Recrd Check (BRC) Manager, and the Prfessinal Develpment Training Calendar are required t enrll fr a Single Sign In user accunt in rder t access these applicatins. Once yu have an EEC SSI accunt, yu can access all f yur EEC web applicatins frm ne spt. This guide will walk yu thrugh the prcesses f creating a user accunt, maintaining yur accunt, and accessing EEC s web applicatins. This guide is available via the Help link frm anywhere in the SSI applicatin and will be updated peridically. If yu have questins r want t reprt a prblem, the Cntact EEC link als in the header f the SSI applicatin, will launch yur sftware t send a message t the EEC Help Desk. 2 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin Access EEC s Web Applicatins Access t all EEC web based applicatins begins with navigating t the EEC Single Sign In web page at The system will redirect yu t the web address shwn belw. Tip: Make sure t include the s in https t access the secure SSI website. This web address will take yu t the EEC SSI Sign In page. The Sign In page, as well as the ther pages f SSI, have been redesigned t lk mre like ther EEC web based systems, including the Prfessinal Qualificatins Registry and the Quality Rating and Imprvement System (QRIS). 3 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin View Messages frm EEC Peridically, EEC will pst messages t users n the SSI Sign In page. These messages are intended t generally apply t all users. If there is an active message, yu will see anther sectin entitled Message frm EEC appear n this page. Belw is an example f an annuncement frm EEC. There may be mre than ne annuncement psted at a time. Tip: Sme annuncements frm EEC include links t additinal infrmatin. Lk fr a link if yu are interested in finding ut mre abut the annuncement. Sign In as a Returning User If yu are an existing user, yu can sign in by entering yur username and clicking Sign In. Signing in is a tw step prcess. First, enter yur username n the Sign In page. After EEC cnfirms the username is an active SSI accunt, yu will be prmpted t enter yur passwrd t access yur EEC web applicatins. Retrieve a Frgtten Username If yu have frgtten yur username (r are nt sure if yu already have ne), then yu can request t retrieve yur username by clicking the Frgt yur username? link underneath the field fr yur username. T have an sent t yu with yur EEC SSI username(s), enter yur first and last name, address, and day f birth and then click Username. The day f birth is the number frm 1 t 31 fr yur birthday, s smene brn n February 14, 1967, wuld enter 14 as their Day f Birth. If the SSI applicatin finds yur user accunt infrmatin, the system will shw yu a cnfirmatin message like the ne belw. Click Cntinue t return t the Sign In page. Tip: T be able t retrieve yur username in the future, make sure t include yur address in yur Single Sign In prfile. Shrtly after requesting t retrieve yur username, EEC will send an t yur address with the usernames that match yur name, day f birth, and address. Belw is an example f what the frm EEC lks like. If SSI cannt find at least ne user accunt that matches the infrmatin yu have entered, yu will receive a prmpt fr SSI infrming yu that it cannt yur infrmatin. Tip: If SSI cannt find yur user accunt, try t enter variatins f hw yu may be created yur user accunt name. 6 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin Enter Yur Passwrd On the Enter Yur Passwrd page, yu will see yur Security Phrase shwn t yu. This is a cnfirmatin that yu are indeed accessing the secure EEC SSI site. Befre entering yur passwrd, verify that yur Security Phrase is displayed crrectly. This imprtant step helps t keep yur lgin infrmatin secure. Enter yur Passwrd and click Sign In. Tip: If yu d nt recgnize the Security Phrase, d nt prceed and cntact the EEC Help Desk fr assistance at EECHelpDesk@massmail.state.ma.us. Reset Yur Passwrd If yu cannt remember the passwrd t yur EEC Single Sign In accunt, yu can reset it nline. Click the link Frgt yur passwrd? underneath the passwrd field n the Enter Yur Passwrd page. T reset yur passwrd, SSI will have yu verify yur infrmatin. Enter yur last name, the answer t yur security questin, and yur day f birth (1 31) and click Submit. Make sure yu answer yur Security Questin the same as yu did riginally (fr instance, an answer f NYC des nt cunt as a valid answer fr New Yrk City ). Last updated December 21, 2010 Page 6 f 27

Yur new passwrd must meet the minimum requirements fr an EEC SSI passwrd, including: Being at least six characters lng Cntaining at least ne lwercase character Cntaining at least ne uppercase character Cntaining at least ne number Nt including any spaces The system will prmpt yu if yur new passwrd des nt meet the minimum requirements and will infrm yu when yur passwrd is reset. When ding s, include yur username, , and the answers t the questins abve t expedite the prcess f resetting yur passwrd. Accessing Yur EEC Applicatins When yu successfully enter yur username and passwrd, Single Sign In will bring yu t the Access Yur EEC Applicatins page. This page cntains links t all f yur EEC applicatins. Clicking n the crrespnding link will take yu t that EEC applicatin. In additin, yu can manage yur accunt frm this page, including perfrming the fllwing functins: Add/Remve Links t EEC Applicatins Edit Yur Prfile Change Yur Passwrd Infrmatin abut these functins is included later in this dcument. Sme privileges within these applicatins must be assigned by an administratr at yur prgram r by EEC. Tip: T get back t this page quickly frm within sme f the EEC applicatins, click the My EEC Apps link n the tp right hand side f the page. Enrll as a New User If yu are new t EEC s web applicatins, yu can enrll and create a new persnal user accunt. Just like signing in as a returning user, g t the EEC SSI Sign In page t enrll at On the Sign In page, click the link D nt have an EEC SSI accunt? Enrll here t start the enrllment prcess. Thrughut the enrllment and update prcesses, please nte that any fields that are marked with an asterisk are required and must be entered t save yur infrmatin. Tip: If yu think yu might have already have an EEC user accunt, then click the Frgt yur username? link first t try t retrieve yur username. Avid creating duplicate accunts when pssible. 10 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin List Yur Cntact Infrmatin Review and Agree t the Terms f Use T successfully cmplete the Single Sign In enrllment, yu must cmplete each step befre exiting. If yu exit the prcess befre cmpleting the enrllment, yu must start the prcess ver. When yu have successfully enrlled, yu will be able t select which EEC applicatins yu wish t access. Each f these steps is explained belw. Specify a Username and Passwrd The first step in setting up yur EEC SSI user accunt is t chse a username and passwrd. Each username is unique. T see if yur requested username is available, enter yur requested Username and click the Check buttn. The SSI applicatin will let yu knw whether r nt yur requested username is available. 11 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin In additin, yur requested username must meet the minimum standards fr an EEC Single Sign In accunt. Each SSI username must: Be at least fur characters lng Cntain at least ne letter Be n lnger than 20 characters lng May nt cntain spaces between characters If yur requested username is available and meets the minimum standards fr a new accunt, the SSI applicatin will let yu knw that yur username is valid. After selecting a username; enter a passwrd in the text bxes labeled Passwrd and Cnfirm Passwrd. Yur EEC SSI passwrd must meet these minimum requirements t be accepted: Be at least six characters lng Cntain at least ne lwer case character Cntain at least ne upper case character Cntain at least ne number May nt cntain spaces between characters T make sure there is nt any typs when yu enter yu passwrd, SSI requires yu t reenter yur passwrd in the Cnfirm Passwrd field. Click n Next t cntinue with the registratin prcess. Tip: Make sure nt t share yur accunt infrmatin with ther users. If thers at yur prgram need access t EEC applicatins, they can create their wn EEC SSI accunts. Enter Yur Security Infrmatin The secnd step in the enrllment prcess is t enter yur security infrmatin. 12 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin Yur Security Phrase is a wrd r phrase that is linked t yur accunt and will be displayed t yu after entering yur username but befre entering yur passwrd. It is a security measure t cnfirm t yu that yu have accessed the valid EEC Single Sign In applicatin. If at any time yu d nt see this phase when lgging int the system, yu shuld nt cmplete the lgin prcess and shuld cntact the EEC Help Desk at EECHelpDesk@massmail.state.ma.us. This imprtant step helps ensure that yur passwrd is prtected. Yu may enter the wrd r phrase yu chse as yur identifying Security Phrase. The secnd part f the Security Infrmatin page is t enter infrmatin that can be used by EEC t identify yu shuld yu need help with yu user accunt. Yu may want t write dwn yu security questin and answer with yur username and passwrd fr yur recrds. Finally, enter yu Day f Birth. Yur day f birth is a number frm 1 t 31 that crrespnds t the day f yur birth. Fr instance, if yu were brn n March 17, 1967, yur day f birth wuld be 17. Tgether with yur Security Questin and Answer, this infrmatin will allw yu t reset yu passwrd in the future shuld yu frget yur lgn infrmatin. Click the Next buttn t cntinue the registratin prcess. EEC strngly encurages users t include their address t aid in trubleshting any questins yu may have abut EEC applicatins. When yu enter yur mailing address, EEC will check yur address as entered with the US Pstal Service (USPS). The USPS may then prvide a slightly different versin f yur address, frmatted as preferred by the pstal service. Review the USPS suggested mailing address and then select either yur address as entered r the USPS address fr inclusin in yur user accunt. Click Next t cntinue t the furth page f the enrllment prcess. Review and Agree t the Terms f Use The furth step in the EEC Single Sign In enrllment prcess is t review yur infrmatin and agree t the Terms f Use fr Single Sign In. If yur infrmatin is crrect and yu agree t the Terms f Use, click the checkbx fr I have read and agree t the Terms and Agreement and then click Finish t enrll. Select Yur EEC Applicatins After yu have cmpleted the fur steps f enrllment, the Single Sign In applicatin will ask yu t specify which applicatins yu want access. By default, SSI will select the Prfessinal Qualificatins Registry as ne f yur EEC applicatins. Yu can unselect it if yu d nt need t register. These applicatins include the Electrnic Child Care Infrmatin Management System (eccims). If yu have been granted access t this system, then yu will see a link fr eccims appear n yu EEC applicatins list. When yu click a link fr an EEC applicatin, Single Sign In will direct yu t that applicatin. 20 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin Create an SSI Accunt fr eccims Single Sign In has been updated t streamline the prcess f creating a SSI accunt t access eccims. When yur site administratr creates yur eccims accunt and gives yu a username and passwrd, simply use that username and passwrd t access Single Sign In. Once yu enter yur assigned username, SSI will identify that yu have a temprary passwrd and ask fr yu t enter yur temprary Passwrd. When yu successfully enter yur passwrd, SSI will prmpt yu t cmplete the set up f yur user accunt. Yu will nly need t d this the first time yu lg n t Single Sign In. If yu change yur address, SSI will nce again check the changed address with the US Pstal Service t standardize the address frmat. Click Submit t save yur changes r Cancel t abandn yur changes. 25 EEC Single Sign In (SSI) Applicatin Change Yur Passwrd Frm the Access Yur EEC Applicatins page, yu can als request t change yur passwrd. Click the Change Passwrd buttn t request a change. Enter yur current passwrd and then type in yur new passwrd twice in the New Passwrd and Cnfirm Passwrd fields. Make sure yur new passwrd meets the passwrd requirements listed n the page. Click Submit t change yur passwrd r Cancel t keep yur current passwrd. When yur passwrd has been successfully updated, SSI will infrm yu f the change. Lg In with a Temprary Passwrd If yu have tried t reset yur passwrd nline and need EEC s Help Desk t reset it, then yu will be assigned a temprary passwrd. A temprary passwrd is nly valid fr the first time yu lg back in t EEC s SSI applicatin. Switch Applicatins Within sme f the EEC web applicatins, there is a new link fr My EEC Apps that appears n the righthand side f the page header. This link will jump yu back t yur list f EEC applicatins withut having t lg ut and lg back in again. S, if yu are in the PQ Registry and need t check n yur applicatin fr the Quality Rating and Imprvement System (QRIS), just click the My EEC Apps link and then click the link t access the Quality Rating and Imprvement System (QRIS). If yu have questins abut anther EEC web applicatin, lk fr the Help link within that applicatin fr instructins specific t that system. In additin, EEC has intrduced shrt and lng page instructins in the Prfessinal Qualificatins Registry that yu can click fr mre guidance specific t the page yu are have accessed. If yu need additinal help, please feel free t cntact the EEC User Services at EECHelpDesk@massmail.state.ma.us. Yu can quickly send an t the Help Desk by clicking the Cntact EEC link n the tp f each Single Sign In page.
