This dcument will guide yu thrugh the steps yu need t fllw in rder t access Epic in additin t ther technlgy resurces within the Yale New Haven Health System. As a member f the Medical Staff new t Yale-New Haven Health System, yu must attend Epic Training and pass an assessment in rder t be apprved t use the Epic EMR sftware. It is critical that yu familiarize yurself with the varius tasks and wrkflws within Epic, as they will be crucial t yur use f the system with patients. Overview & Checklist Here is a checklist f the items that yu will need t cmplete in rder t btain Epic access as well as access t many ther YNHHS sftware systems. Yu will find mre detail in the fllwing pages n each f these steps. Cmplete a Request fr Access Frm (See page 3 fr details r link t frm at 0Epic%20Security.pdf ). the Epic Training Team (epictraining@ynhh.rg) with yur cntact infrmatin. Please send them yur full name, mnth and day f birth and the best way t reach yu. The Epic Training Team will cntact yu t arrange fr SkillPrt Access and assist yu with the registratin prcess. (See page 3 fr details). Review recmmended E-Learning curses. (See page 4 and 5 fr details). Attend yur required classrm training

3 3 User ID & Registratin Request Fr Access Frm T btain access t yur Netwrk ID, Netwrk , Epic Lgin, and ther Infrmatin Technlgy applicatins, a Request fr Access Frm needs t be filled ut. Yu can find these frms at 20Security.pdf]. Please cmplete these frms t the best f yur ability and fax them t the Service Desk fr prcessing. The frms may als be scanned and ed t the Service Desk. The Service Desk kindly asks that yu allw them five t seven business days fr prcessing. The Service Desk will cntact yu (r if yu are part f YMG r a health system emplyee they may cntact yur crdinatr r manager directly) with yur lgin infrmatin nce yur request has been prcessed. The Epic Training Team will enrll yu in the apprpriate curses based upn yur specialty and areas f cverage. Yu may cntact the Epic Training Team via at epictraining@ynhh.rg. 4 4 SkillPrt Befre Yu Begin Befre lgging int SkillPrt, it is imprtant t have Java installed n the cmputer yu are utilizing. Many users have reprted difficulties accessing SkillPrt withut Java, s, as a precautinary measure, it is recmmended that yu install it. Yu can install Java by ging t the website and fllwing the instructins n the website. If yu are having issues accessing SkillPrt and are utilizing ne f the health system wrkstatins, please call the Service Desk at (HELP). Lgging In T lgin t SkillPrt, yu need t navigate t Yu will be greeted with a lgin screen. In the Netwrk ID field, yu will enter yur Netwrk ID, which will be prvided t yu by the Epic Training Team. 5 5 Accessing E-Learning Once yu have lgged int SkillPrt, click n the Catalg buttn (Step 1). Yu will then see a list f flders n the right hand side. Click the plus sign (+) next t E-Learning (Step 2). Once yu see the E-Learning Mdule that yu wuld like t view, hver ver the mdule until it is highlighted in grey with the launch and shw details link. Click launch t start the e- learning. This will launch the E-Learning in a separate windw.
