1 Cnnecting t Live@edu Minimum Requirements fr Yur Cmputer We strngly recmmend yu upgrade t Office 2010 (Service Pack 1) befre the upgrade. This versin is knwn t prvide a better service and t eliminate sme prblems that have been encuntered by ur early adpters. Detailed Instructins fr yur Initial Lg On T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time yu must reset yur passwrd twice (yes twice), t d this please fllw the instructins belw:- 1. G t the fllwing web page and change yur passwrd:- There may be a shrt delay fr yur new passwrd t register. 2. Nw fr the secnd time g t the fllwing web page and change yur passwrd AGAIN:- (Nte: Fr the current passwrd yu will need t enter the passwrd yu have chsen fr step 1) 3. T cmplete the prcess and test that yu have changed yur passwrd successfully g t the fllwing link:- Yu must nw Lgin t yur new Live@edu accunt. Yur new accunt will be in the fllwing frmat:- usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk An example is shwn belw. The passwrd will be the last ne yu chse abve (chsen in step 2). 1

2 On lgin yu will be requested t select the default language and time- zne settings. Once yu have successfully lgged in t yur accunt yu will be able t cntinue t use yur as yu did befre, but remember yur new accunt frmat is - usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk There are different ways yu may access yur and the details f the hw these are setup t wrk with live@edu are utlined in this dcument. 3 Outlk 2007 and 2010 n a PC T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time YOU MUST RESET YOUR PASSWORD! Yu shuld be lgged ff yur at the time f the migratin. If yu are nt lgged ff, when the migratin is cmplete, the fllwing bx will be displayed. 1) Click OK and clse Outlk. If yu are nt lgged n, cntinue as instructed belw. 2) Lg back int Outlk using yur new Live@edu Lgin usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk e.g. cuhbad@live.warwick.ac.uk, and use yur newly reset passwrd. Screen sht frm Office 2010 If the fllwing bx re- appears, click OK and restart Outlk Outlk shuld autmatically detect the new server (i.e. Live@edu) and lg yu int yur live@edu accunt. 3) Please check yur , calendar and sharing ptins have migrated crrectly. If yu have any prblems, cntact the flrwalker NOTE: If after step 2 yu cannt access yur , either a) yu are unable t pen utlk, b) yu can pen Outlk but it says discnnected r c) yu receive errr messages, this is because the client desn't always detect and pint t the new server. 4 Outlk 2011 n a Mac T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time YOU MUST RESET YOUR PASSWORD! We will be migrating mailbxes ut f nrmal wrking hurs. Hwever, if yu attempt t send mail during the migratin perid yu may get an errr message explaining that the mail bx is currently being mved Once yur accunt has been mved ver t the live@edu system yu shuld receive the fllwing message Click Allw Click Yes Nw yur live@edu accunt is ready fr lgin. Enter yur usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk and new passwrd and Click OK 4

5 Outlk Web Access (OWA) T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time YOU MUST RESET YOUR PASSWORD! We will be migrating mailbxes ut f nrmal wrking hurs. Hwever, if yu are lgged n t the Exchange system using OWA, yu will autmatically be lgged ff and presented with the OWA lgin screen. 1. Nw use this URL fr OWA: 2. Change yur server settings as fllws: Server name: pd51002.utlk.cm Prt: 587 Encryptin methd: STARTTLS r TLS r SSL (yu will need t tick the authenticatin bx) 2. 6 Setting up the iphne r ipad fr , calendar and cntacts T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time YOU MUST RESET YOUR PASSWORD! First, tuch the 'Settings' icn. Scrll dwn a little bit, then tuch 'Mail, Cntacts, Calendars'. Tuch 'Add Accunt ', then 'Micrsft Exchange'. Next, type yur address in the frm usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk int the tp field. Leave the 'Dmain' field blank, then type yur username, which is exactly the same as yur address in the previus step, int the username field, then yur passwrd int the passwrd field. Yu can leave the descriptin field as 'Exchange' if yu like, but it's perhaps mre meaningful t change it t smething like 'Warwick ' r 'Warwick Live@Edu'. Click the blue 'Next' buttn in the tp right- hand crner f the screen. Yur iphne will think fr a mment, then shuld display all the details yu've just entered, tgether with a server name which it has derived itself. Click the blue 'Next' buttn again, and this time the iphne shuld reprt that it has successfully cnnected, and will shw yu a screen where yu can chse which f yur Mail, yur Cntacts, yur Calendar and yur Reminders yu wuld like t have n yur phne. They are all n by default, s if that's what yu want, yu can just click the blue 'Save' buttn in the tp right- hand crner. If there are any yu dn't want, change the relevant switch frm 'On' t 'Off', then click 'Save'. There's ne mre thing t decide: back n the 'Mail, Cntacts and Calendars' screen, there's a menu item which says 'Fetch new data'. Click n this, and then decide whether yu want new s, calendar events, etc. sent t yur phne as sn as they arrive at yur desktp. If yu d, then make sure that 'Push' is set t n, but nte that this will use yur battery mre quickly than the ther settings. If yu want mre battery life and dn't need immediate updates, set 'Push' t 'Off' and then chse hw ften yu want yur phne t check fr new items. The mst battery- friendly ptin f all is t chse 'Manually', which will nly check fr r calendar data when yu actually pen yur r calendar - but if yu chse this, then yur phne wn't be able t tell yu hw many unread messages are waiting r remind yu f yur upcming appintments, because it wn't knw them until yu pen the app. Setting up ther mbile phnes and devices T start using yur live@edu accunt fr the first time YOU MUST RESET YOUR PASSWORD! 7 Cnfiguring Outlk Prfiles PLEASE DO NOT RE- SET YOUR OWN PROFILE IF YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING OFF- LINE AS THIS COULD CAUSE YOU TO LOSE S FROM YOUR DRAFTS FOLDER OR OUTBOX. IF YOU HAVE WORKED OFF- LINE, PLEASE CALL THE HELPDESK FOR A PROFILE RE- SET ON X51410 ( ) Outlk 2007 and 2010 (a) Open the Cntrl Panel by clicking n Start - > Cntrl Panel (if yu use the classic start menu, yu can find the cntrl panel under Start - > Settings - > Cntrl Panel) (b) Duble click n User Accunts and select Mail (if yu use the classic cntrl panel, duble click n Mail). (c) Click n Shw Prfiles (d) T create a new mail prfile click Add (e) Enter either yur name r user cde fr the prfile name (f) Click OK 7

8 (g) Enter the fllwing infrmatin: I. Yur Name: - Enter yur Name as yu wish it t be displayed in yur mailbx II. Address: - Enter yur usercde@live.warwick.ac.uk. Please nte that yur address will remain the same and in the frmat f yur Initial/Firstname.Surname@warwick.ac.uk III. Passwrd - Enter yur passwrd IV. Retype Passwrd Re- enter yur passwrd t cnfirm (h) Click Next Yur new Live@Edu accunt shuld be autmatically cnfigured. Three green ticks shuld appear (i) Click Finish (j) If yu are nly using the ne prfile, click the radi buttn fr Always use this prfile ptin and frm the drpdwn menu select Live@Edu frm the list f available prfiles (k) If yu are using multiple prfiles, select the ptin t Prmpt fr a prfile t be used (l) Click OK and clse the Cntrl Panel 8
