1 New in this release Sphere (Octber 2013) The fllwing client-facing changes were implemented: An issue that prevented certain Friends Asking Friends spnsrship levels frm appearing as ptins n the Single Spnsrship Entry Frm in Bkkeeping, and their spnsrship quantities frm displaying n websites is fixed. Nw when Friends Asking Friends registrants and dnrs share the news abut their registratins, dnatins, and ther event highlights t their scial netwrks, an image and updated link text appears belw the message. The new details specify the event and participant frm which the sharing riginated. Fr example, if a dnr shares after dnating frm a participant's fundraising page, the event name, participant image, and name appear. Previusly, nly a link with the text General Dnatin appeared belw the message. An issue that caused custm messages t appear fr each page in a multiple registratin frm is fixed. The messages appeared when they were entered in the Sectin Nte field under Cmmunities > Special Events > Friends Asking Friends > Kintera Thn > [Highlight the event] > Website Inf > Custmize Frms > [Registratin Frm name] > Fields Order and Label Text > Persnalized Web Page Link Fields. New mbile ptins appear fr Friends Asking Friends under Cmmunities > Special Events > Friends Asking Friends > Kintera Thn > [Highlight the event] > Website Inf > Website Features > Detect and frward Mbile Devices t Mbile Dnatin Frm. The ptins enable yu t select whether t use the event's dnatin levels r mbile specific levels n frms. Dnatin level amunts appear as buttns n mbile phnes t make them easier fr users t select. Previusly, mbile frms used default dnatin levels. An updated cnfiguratin prcess t integrate Twitter feeds n Friends Asking Friends event websites is available. Nw yu create a Twitter widget and add the HTML cde Twitter generates t the Website Features sectin f the event. The main lgin page nw appears when users click the sign in ptin at the tp f Friends Asking Friends websites that use friendly URLs and the essential design templates. Previusly, the scial sign-in windw that appeared did nt allw users t lg int the site. A data discrepancy that allwed Friends Asking Friends participants in certain events t select deleted images frm the standard image library is fixed. An issue that caused Friends Asking Friends team pages t display default images and vides n team pages after captains added their wn cntent is fixed. The issue ccurred when captains did nt select an image r vide frm the standard library. An issue that caused the autfill ptin n Friends Asking Friends registratin frms t ignre registrant team selectins and prevented the use f the scial media lgin ptin is fixed. An issue that caused blank values fr matching gifts frm rganizatins in the Dnr Reference clumn f dnatin reprts is fixed. The help text in the Sphere administrative pages that explains the time it takes t prcess ACH payments nw specifies bank prcessing may take 4-7 business days. Previusly, the text indicated ACH payments required up t ne business day t prcess. A new Generate a matching gift dnr reprt help tpic is available in the Sphere Friends Asking Friends Guide. Sphere (September 2013) The fllwing client-facing changes were implemented: KDEV Updates were made t reduce intermittent website slwness and latency issues. Prir t the change, the number f s participants culd send frm Custm Friends Asking Friends events was five. The number is nw increased t 50. Updates were made thrughut Sphere t increase the amunt f time the prgram prcesses data requests befre errr messages appear. Yu can nw use the Cnnect API t read frm and write t custm rganizatinal fields between parent and child accunts. Yu create custm rganizatinal fields in Cntacts > Database Management > Field Management > Manage Custm Fields. An issue that caused the Jin Team link in Friends Asking Friends essential design templates t exceed team member registratin limits is fixed. An issue that caused Friends Asking Friends friendly URL subdmains t appear in the Edit Friendly URL field is fixed. The new Embed Map Cde field appears in the Event Infrmatin sectin f the Webinf Checklist and adds a map image frm a website yu chse t the event site's Event Infrmatin page. Previusly, yu culd nly select an ptin t add a Mapquest link t an event site and pen the map in a new brwser. The change helps users view the event lcatin map directly frm the event site. T include a map image, enter the address f the event lcatin in a map website. Frm the page that includes the map, cpy the embed cde the website generates and paste it int the field. If necessary, yu can change the HTML t increase r decrease the zm setting prvided by the map website. T nly include a link t the map website, instead f an image f the map, enter the link in the field in frmat.

Participant Headquarters Enhancements Where: Cmmunities > Special Events > Friends Asking Friends > Kintera Thn > [Highlight the event] > Website Inf > Center Templates Event page > Main Lgin > [tab] When yu cnfigure Friends Asking Friends events, yu can nw add up t 20 templates fr participants t use when they send messages t friends and family. Previusly, the limit was six. Templates are available frm the Center Templates sectin f the Webinf Checklist. Frm the tab f the Participant Headquarters, event registrants can nw send s t 100 cntacts at a time and select whether t append links t their persnal, team, and grup fundraising pages. Previusly, the limit was 30 and participants culd nt specify the links t add t messages. Befre the change, the prgram nly added links t team pages frm messages team captains sent. Nw, team members can add team page links t their messages. Als, when participants save messages fr future use, a new Save as Template buttn nw appears next t the Preview and Send buttns. The ptin previusly appeared next t the Template field and was ften verlked by participants.

New Event Template Recipient Queries Where: Cmmunicatins > Event Templates > [Highlight the campaign] > Manage > [Mailing name] > Receivers Updated recipient queries are available fr Event Templates. Nw when yu query fr event participants, yu can filter the results by whether they raised mney nline r ffline. Yu can als query fr participants wh raised a specified number f dnatins nline r ffline. Bth queries are available fr current and previus event participants. Tip: We recmmend yu review the recipient criteria fr scheduled template mailings created befre August 13, 2013, t ensure they are sent t the intended supprters.

The new Participant Spnsrs ptin allws yu t link event participants t the cnstituents, knwn as participant spnsrs, wh dnate tward their fundraising effrts. When yu select the Participant Spnsrs ptin under the Admin tab n the Cnnectr Sync page, the prgram selects the Is a slicitr checkbx n participant cnstituent recrds in The Raiser's Edge. The prgram als inserts participant names in the Slicitr field n participant spnsr gift recrds. The change enables yu t better track cnstituent gift surces in The Raiser's Edge. In Sphere, participant names nw appear n dnr supprter recrds in the new Participant Supprter clumn under Cntacts > Individuals [r Organizatins] > [Highlight the recrd] > Manage Cntact > Interactins [tab] > Activities [tab].

The Raiser's Edge Sphere Cnnectr Sft Credit Optin Remval The Raiser's Edge Sphere Cnnectr feature t create sft credits between dnrs and the event participants they supprt was remved in the Htfix. The feature was initially released in the Blackbaud Sphere release, but after receiving feedback, the Blackbaud Sphere team re-evaluated the feature. In the release, the enhancement t indicate event participants are gift slicitrs imprves upn the previusly released slutin.
