3 Getting Started with FTPS What t expect The Regins Managed File Transfer (MFT) team will supply yu with an SSL certificate and crrespnding SSL Passwrd The Regins MFT team will supply with yu with a User ID, Passwrd and URL fr cnnecting t the Regins secure transfer site. Nte: Yu will receive tw passwrds: 1) A passwrd fr use with yur SSL certificate when imprting it int yur FTP Client (the nly time yu may need this again wuld be if yu wanted t imprt the certificate n anther cmputer) 2) A secnd passwrd fr use with yur User ID when lgging in; this is a temprary passwrd and yu will be prmpted t establish a new passwrd n yur first lg in attempt. Yu will need t imprt the prvided SSL certificate int yur FTP Client per the belw instructins After imprting the SSL certificate, yu can pen the prvided URL in yur FTP Client and authenticate using yur User ID and Passwrd Once cnnected, yu can begin sending and receiving files in the Regins Test envirnment Yu will need t cmmunicate t the Regins MFT team that yu have successfully tested The Regins MFT team will cnfigure a new accunt and crrespnding SSL Certificate fr use with the Regins Prductin system Repeat prcedures belw fr imprting the SSL certificate int yur FTP Client Once testing is cmplete, yur Regins representative will crdinate the mve t Prductin Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 3

4 Imprting the SSL Certificate and Lgging On Nte: The fllwing instructins were created using an FTP Client frm Ipswitch, WS_FTP Pr, simply fr demnstratin purpses, and are nt intended as an endrsement fr any specific prduct. Any cmmercially-available FTP Client that allws ne t imprt SSL certificates fr use with a prfile shuld wrk. Please check with yur FTP Client vendr if yu are unsure f its capabilities. 1. Regins will prvide yu with an SSL certificate in an attachment, belw is an example f the certificate prvided fr custmertest : 2. Save the certificate n yur lcal system. Yu will need t knw the lcatin when yu imprt the certificate as belw utlined. 3. Imprt the certificate int yur FTP Client. Chse Tls as shwn. 4. Next select Optins. 5. Then select SSL=>Client Certificates. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 4

5 6. Click n Imprt. 7. Then click n the flder icn t the right f the Public Key File. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 5

6 8. Chse the file lcatin where yu saved the certificate that the Regins MFT team prvided and select Open. Nte in this case the certificate name is custmertest. 9. Then click Next. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 6

7 10. Enter the SSL certificate passwrd and click Next. Nte that this passwrd is different than the passwrd prvided with yur User ID. 11. Enter a name fr the certificate and then click Next. The name shuld be smething meaningful t yu in rder t assciate it with yur cnnectin t Regins. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 7

8 12. Click Finish t imprt the certificate. 13. The certificate shuld nw appear in yur list f imprted certificates. Select it and click OK. The SSL certificate imprt is nw cmplete. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 8

9 Setting Up FTPS Cnnectin in FTP Client 1. Click Cnnectins and then New Cnnectin. 2. Enter a name fr the certificate that is easy fr yu t recall and assciate with yur cnnectin t Regins and then click Next. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 9

10 3. Chse the ptin fr Explicit SSL and then click Next. In the FTP Client example belw, the ptin is FTP/SSL (AUTH SSL). 4. Enter the URL fr the Regins Secure server and then click Next. The Test URL is securedata.reginstest.cm; and the Prductin URL is securedata.regins.cm. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 10

11 5. Enter the User ID and Passwrd yu were prvided by the Regins MFT team and then click Next. 6. Navigate t Site Optins and click n Advanced and change Remte Prt t 990. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 11

12 7. Next, click n SSL and select the Client certificate yu imprted earlier. In the example ReginsSSLTest was the name used in step 11 f the Certificate Imprt prcess. 8. Shuld the screen belw be displayed, please check Trust this certificate, then click OK. Regins > Getting Started with FTPS 12

13 9. At this pint yu shuld be able t cnnect. The ability t perfrm specific prcedures will depend upn the FTP Client used. As in the example belw, click Cnnect lcated in the upper left crner - and then chse the crrect prfile frm the Site Manager. In the example belw it is ReginsSSLTest. Next select Cnnect lcated t the right f the prfile. 10. A secure cnnectin message shuld appear t indicate successful cnnectin. All required steps are nw cmplete.
