Target Audience This conference is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, rehab therapists and others who care for stroke patients. Purpose The purpose of this conference is to present current literature, guidelines and best practices for the prevention, diagnosis and management of stroke across the patient care continuum. Objectives At the conclusion of this educational activity, the learner should be able to: Identify three reasons for the growing incidence of stroke in young adults. Discuss how to determine what specific testing is needed for young adults with stroke. Recognize the benefits of implementing endovascular stroke treatment guidelines. Describe three cardiac etiologies of cryptogenic stroke. Explain the role of neuroplasticity in stroke recovery. List two significant challenges survivors face in community reintegration after stroke.
