Catherine requested apprval f minutes frm September meeting. Minutes apprved unanimusly. Old Business: Dr. Smith asked fr an update n availability f the data tables fr the 93% CUPA salary adjustments. Dr. Smith agreed they culd be prvided. Wendy asked Dr. Smith if she culd frward this infrmatin t PBF grup. Dr. Smith agreed, but asked the grup distribute the infrmatin with discretin. Prcess: Anyne belw 93% CUPA gt bumped up (CIP nly discipline nt rank). Dr. Tmas riginal spreadsheet. Need salary adjustment cmmittee t have this riginal data. Infrmatin is available in the library, public inf. PB&F asked that the administratin t reexamine thse individuals wh were recently prmted but, and may nt being currently at the 93% CUPA level (i.e. pay raise received was based n rank prir t prmtin which wuld have resulted in a handful f individuals at the 86% f CUPA. Dr. Smith and Dr. Crrigan said that they will lk int this matter and infrm the cmmittee f their findings at the next meeting. Dr. Smith agreed t l review the current 93% CUPA spreadsheet fr errrs related t that impact faculty wh received prmtins and may nt have received the increase t 93% CUPA. Dr. Smith will reprt at next meeting his findings. PB&F members did nt suggest everyne be mved up. Recmmendatin was that the adjustments are based n CUPA averages. Administratin raised faculty pay t 85, 90, and 93 % f CUPA, which resulted in salary cmpressin. Faculty that were already abve the CUPA averages did nt get an increase in salary. Merit raises may be the answer t alleviating the issue fr salary cmpressin. Faculty Salary Adjustment Cmmittee Dr. Smith spke abut meeting with Dr. Mike Tma abut chairing the next Faculty Salary Adjustment cmmittee ( ) and t begin wrk imminently. The gal is t have the study cmpleted by February CIPS may have t be lked at because per Dr. Smith, sme faculty d nt fit int any CIP cde.

2 CIP cdes CIP cdes cmparatives are needed. At the September senate meeting, Bb LeFavi addressed the members n his cncern with CIP cdes and the hiring f new faculty, particularly when cmpeting with ther state institutins and salary fferings.. Dr. Smith said that this issue is being lked at. It was clarified that CIP cde and rank are used but CIP cde identifies Department. It was explained t the cmmittee that CIPs never were intended t be used as a tl fr classifying faculty psitins. New Business Presentatin Dr. Chris Crrigan. Nvember 20 th Chris Crrigan will be in Atlanta fr 2107 Fiscal Year Budget hearings with BOR. Overview f tpics addressed in Budget Narrative t BOR: 1. Management Enrllment Strategies (e.g. Start Strng, Start Nw, Grades First, Degree Wrks, Centralized Advising, Out f State Waivers, Banner waitlists, Educatinal Advisry Bard Student Success Cllabrative) 2. New Academic Prgram Prpsals (e.g. BS in Cmputer Science with Cyber Security ptin and Dctr f Nursing Practice Cllabrative Online Prgram with Valdsta State & University f Nrthern Gergia). 3. New funds requests ~$1.6 M (budget pririties) (e.g. Faculty & Staff salary 3% increase, cunselr psitin), Prfessinal Academic Advisr psitin with perating funds, student service psitin at Liberty Center, Phne upgrade) 4. New funds requests ~$4.8 M (facilities requests) (e.g. Science Center chill water replacement ($1.5M), Memrial Cllege Center renvatin ($2 M), University Hall renvatin ($800,000), Science Center renvatin (labratry space & furnishings ($500,000). Chancellr has indicated n extra mney; funding t be similar t last fiscal year. Shrt list fr apprpriatin has been determined.

Hurly did imprve Market adjustment did impact. Faculty wrse fr faculty 6%, 8% 9% turnver These numbers are that are nt cnsidering retirement, s need t lk at real attritin r belw 6% is lw. Turnver is lw. Requesting ne technical piece with a phne upgrade which tells them their psitin in queue and als allw a message t be left s a call can be returned. Facilities request Sidelines (cnsulting grup). They did a deferred maintenance reprt and fund what needs t be repaired and cst40 millin, nw r next 10 years. Tp n list is the chill unit in the Science building. There are numerus pieces f equipment immense cst that will be impacted when the HVAC ges dwn. PB&F suggested that the activity space fr students t have scial time was discussed. Game rm suggested. IDEA: use current bk stre space fr game rm and mve bkstre t Armstrng Center. University Hall technlgy needs t be updated. Cllabrative spaces. These are the suggestins fr the BOR. Enrllment Update: As f Saturday Octber 10, students were enrlled at Armstrng. Expected enrllment fr Fall 2015 (including mini sessins) t be ~7100 which is flat Expected t grw fr next academic year t be ½ f 1%. Next year prjected at 7129 with the fllwing academic year t be ~7164. Registratin (Victr Hall): One week each mnth, cnsultants (AACRAO) in admissins are wrking n prblems in the Registrar s ffice. Dr. Smith indicated that we are ahead f last year in applicatin prcessing which is a psitive mve frward.

4 Other New items discussed: Article n Online Athens was discussed regarding salary increases state apprpriated. Chris indicated all UGA institutes received 0.5% despite article describing UGA received 2%. List f cnsultants will be distributed t PB&F with prir t next meeting (i.e. t be sent ut with minutes & Nvember agenda). Extra master keys fr newly keyed Science Center was discussed. PBF asked why an extra master key culd nt be issued t each department. PB&F learned that a campus wide key plicy did nt exist. A new plicy n Master Keys was put tgether ver the summer mnths (2015) t address the issue f master keys and security. Plicy will be published when Web refreshed. This discussin t cntinue at next meeting. Next Meeting Items: Next meeting Katie Twining will be present t discuss janitrial issues and master key plicy.
