4 Amsterdam grup wrkshp September 25 The Amsterdam Grup is a strategic alliance f cmmitted key stakehlders with the bjective t facilitate jint deplyment f cperative ITS in Eurpe. It includes the umbrella rganisatins CEDR ASECAP POLIS and C2C-CC. The Amsterdam Grup partners are wrking n a Rad Map n initial deplyment f Cperative ITS in Eurpe. In rder t share and discuss the Rad Map with ther stakehlders and interested rganisatins the Amsterdam Grup rganises a full day wrkshp in Brussels n Wednesday September 25. The Amsterdam grup rad map as backgrund dcument fr the preparatin f the wrkshp will be prvided t the registered persns. Cperative ITS Crridr One f the first results frm the Amsterdam grup as strategic alliance is the Cperative ITS Crridr Rtterdam Frankfurt/M. Vienna. It is planned that the radside cperative ITS infrastructure fr the initial services in the Cperative ITS Crridr Rtterdam Frankfurt/M. Vienna will be installed frm 2015 nwards. The EU Member States the Netherlands, Germany and Austria have signed a Memrandum f Understanding n June 10, 2013, t realise this new technlgy in clse cperatin. Backgrund Cperative ITS (C-ITS) will - by prviding cmmunicatin - enable the exchange f real-time infrmatin in a vehicle-infrastructure netwrk t supprt rad safety, traffic efficiency and sustainable travel beynd the scpe f stand-alne systems. The implementatin f cperative systems will bring innvative services t rad users and that will supprt rad authrities and rad peratrs in their rles as traffic managers and netwrk peratrs. Fr sme years, several actins have been taken by autmtive sectr cmpanies and by infrastructure peratrs aiming the launching f Cperative Systems and Services in the market; fr different reasns mainly the lack f crdinatin (the chicken and egg) have made impssible their take-up in practical terms. The aim f the Amsterdam Grup is t encurage cperatin between bth autmtive sectr cmpanies and rad peratrs/authrities and their relevant industrial partners and supprters in rder t develp a jint strategy fr deplyment. The cmmitment twards deplyment f C-ITS f rad peratrs / rad authrities / car manufacturers and cities highly relies n the plicy and csts / benefits f C-ITS implementatins in their respective (reginal / natinal) envirnment. Therefre the Amsterdam Grup ffers an element f tp-dwn supprt in rder t cmplement the essential bttm-up crdinatin. In this respect, the AG rad map intends t shw the path and steps twards the initial deplyment f C-ITS as it is seen by the umbrella rganisatins and its members (= cmmitment t the radmap). A decisin and a cmmitment t deply can nly be taken by the members f the umbrella rganisatins n a lcal / reginal level. The intentin f the AG Rad Map dcument is the identificatin and agreement On necessary steps regarding Cperative Systems and Services, in this way defining a Jint Deplyment Strategy fr thse wh are eager t g fr C-ITS implementatins. 22 August 2013 Authr: AG Management team 4#5

5 On cmmn pen issues / necessary activities required t be slved fr the initial deplyment f Cperative Systems and Services in vehicles and at infrastructure side. On a timeline t accmplish the pen issues / necessary activities. The AG rad map therefre aims at practical recmmendatins (nt binding) fr their members fr the initial deplyment f (Day One) cperative services.
