2 ICT fr Enhanced Decisin-making As ICTs mature, they can play an imprtant rle in: Engaging citizens t the decisin-making prcess, Simplifying the cmplexity f the legislative prceedings and imprving legislatin. Statistics in the Eurpean Unin: ver 50% f EU citizens are Internet users all 25 Natinal Parliaments f Member States and the Eurpean Parliament have a web presence. In the recent nline egvernment cnsultatin, 65% f respndents expect that eparticipatin can help reduce demcratic deficits.

Accelerating adptin and bringing savings relies n using prven cncepts and slutins, which depend n: exchange f gd practice and Knwledge-sharing between administratins at all levels

5 Key Challenges fr Assemblies Accrding t the Eurpean Parliaments Research Initiative (EPRI 2005), t: supprt their members t becme truly mbile wrkers; tackle prblems f spam and verlad; deal with the prblem f infrmatin verlad thrugh a less cars nt mre mtrways apprach; imprve the transparency and accessibility f external (i.e. public) infrmatin prvisin; establish frmal e-cnsultatin practices and capability; and explre the wider training requirements f parliamentarians needing t evlve in, rather than adapt t, an ICT enabled envirnment.
