1 Prepring the PW-5 The following is step-y y-step proedure for ssemly nd disssemly

2 Begin with opening the triler Otin the keys from the green ox in the wll power ox. Untie the restrining ropes t eh side of triler t the rer. Unlok the lthes t eh side, rise the lid of the triler, unlth the rer gte nd lower it to the ground.

3 Prepre to roll out the fuselge Mount nd extend the steel rdle rmp () y lowering its two protruding pins into holes in the triler end ril (). Undo the oom restrining strp nd pd () nd ly them in position out of wy of the rrige wheels (d). d

4 Roll out the fuselge Pull the fuselge out of the wheel wells. Wthing the lerne of the vertil fin with the triler lid (),, move rerwrd until the rdle wheels enter the trks of the steel rmp (). Position the wooden rmp ehind the steel rmp in line with the min ger (). Slowly roll the fuselge further rerwrd nd down the rmp while keeping the til low.. Wth refully the lerne etween the nose nd the end of the triler ed (d). Pling the til wheel on the ground s soon s possile will ensure proper lerne (e). d e

5 Cre in hndling the nopy Undue stress leding to rekge of the nopy n result from grsping nd lifting the plexiglss from the window opening (). Rther, reh inside through the window to grsp the nopy relese hndle with one hnd nd grip the top nopy frme with the other to open properly ().

6 Prepre for mounting the wings First remove the strp nd wooden em whih seure the fuselge to the rdle, ut leve the fuselge In position on the rdle (). Remove the over of the spr nd ontrol onnetion omprtment. Be reful to slide it in the diretion of the nose fter relesing the lth efore lifting it ler (). Now retrieve the wing stnd from the front omprtment of the triler nd position it for use ner the tip of the right wing (). Crefully move the spr retining pins (there re two for eh wing) in forwrd position (towrd nose) so tht they my e in ple to insert in the spr nd rer t of eh wing (d). See Speil wing mounting notes following. Move the spoiler ontrol to the full-open position (e) e d

7 Atthing the wings (this tkes two people) Grsp the tip of the right wing () nd lift it to free its spr from the rket t the front of the triler ().. Then, pull it stright out until the spr rrige omes to the end of the triler. One the wing spr is lifted free of the pin on its rrige, the person holding the wing tip swings round to position putting the wing perpendiulr to the fuselge nd the wing is rotted to n ttitude level with the ground ().. It n now e moved to insert the spr into the fuselge ringing the wing root flush ginst the fuselge (d). The left wing is tthed in the sme wy, ut there some dditionl notes (next). d

8 Speil wing mounting notes Upon seting wing, speil re must e tken not to jostle the fuselge so tht the rer spr pin slides rerwrd, mking it impossile to set the wing. The left wing is tthed in the sme wy s the right, however, fter seting the right wing nd efore going further e sure the pins holding the right wing re set in the hlf-wy position.. This ssures tht the right wing won t t e moved while instlling the left. Also, while inserting nd loking the spr pins, there will e need to hve the seond person on the tip of the left wing redy to move it out to help in slipping the pins into ple.

9 Conneting ontrols One the four spr pins re in ple nd loked (),, the onnetions to spoilers nd ilerons n e mde. Through the top port, the onnetion of ll four ontrols is done y 1) depressing the lk utton so tht the outer sleeve n e slid k, 2) hooking the ontrol tue end over the pins in the end of the okpit ontrol link, nd 3) sliding the outer sleeve forwrd until the lk utton pops up (). This proedure is diffiult to do while looking in the omprtment, ut with prtie it n e done y feel lone. After onneting hve seond person hek the onnetions visully! (). unloked loked

10 Atthing the horizontl stilizer After removing the horizontl stilizer from its retining rkets in the lid of the triler, remove the stilizer retining pin t the se of the til y first depressing the red spring () efore esing the stilizer into position t the til. However, efore this, push the rudder to one side ().. There re three pins in the til whih will lign with two holes in the forwrd edge of the stilizer nd one hole in the movle elevtor. It is neessry to rise the elevtor ontroller rm to level ttitude to get the stilizer to set properly ().. One in ple the retining pin must e reinserted nd seured with the red spring (d).be sure the red spring is ligned with the red line on the fuselge. d

11 Finl heks efore flight At this point hek should e mde tht ll equipment is ounted for nd in ple followed y positive ontrol hek. (). One it hs een determined tht ll onnetions re orret, the over of the spr nd ontrol onnetions omprtment n e re-seured. Be sure tht you strt sliding the over in ple from forwrd position to ssure tht the lips engge properly ().Then it s s simple mtter to depress the lth. Now tht the irrft is ssemled, move it off the rdle nd free of the triler () followed y returning the rdle nd rmps to the triler ed nd losing the lid. The keys should e left in the lok of the front storge omprtment.

12 Disssemling nd returning glider to triler Tking the PW-5 5 prt is simply reversl of the ssemly proedure. However, there re some importnt things to py ttention to:

13 1) Putting wy the horizontl stilizer After pulling the retiner pin nd freeing the stilizer, e sure the retining pin is returned to its position nd loked with the red spring (). Orient the stilizer orretly for stowing in its lid rkets (). Finlly, e sure to lok the rer rket y pulling the lth out () nd put restrining ord in ple.

14 2) Mounting fuselge on rdle After positioning the wooden rmp t the se of the metl rmp, move the rdle into position under the fuselge etween front nd min wheels (). Next, push fuselge nd rdle into position with rdle wheels in the trk of the metl rmp (). Now, push the fuselge up until the rdle meets the min ger skirt, ut with foot holding the rdle wheels ().

15 3) Derigging nd stowing wings Strt y removing the hth over, unhook the four ontrol onnetions, nd pull the spr retining pins () ut only to hlf-wy position (to hold other wing in ple). Being sure the right wing is supported y the wing stnd, remove the left wing first, swing nd rotte it to ring the spr to its rrige, nd drop it on the pin t the point losest to the wing root ().. Repet with the right wing. Don t t forget to lift the wing tip t the end to ler under the rket t the front of the triler (). Lst, ple ileron loks on eh wing efore lowering lid (d). d

16 4) Returning fuselge to triler Seure fuselge to rrige y inserting wooden em nd strp round rdle () When trveling, tth the nopy over (). Move fuselge up rmp into triler, gin keeping til oom low wthing the lerne of vertil fin with triler lid s glider is slid forwrd into wheel wells (). Retth the pd nd strp over the til oom (d). d

17 Buttoning up A heklist : Chek the moisture sorption unit for need of replement. Stow rmp, seure tilgte nd lose lid. Stow ll equipment in forwrd omprtment. Seure ll loks (hth nd two tilgte lthes). Return keys to green ox Return hute to g nd hng in shed
