2 Descriptin The Media Player Rtatr Web Part either selects a randm media file, a specific media file r a media playlist frm the specified Sharepint Picture r Dcument Library. The Micrsft Media Player plug-in is used t play back the media files. Supprted file frmats are MP3, SWF (Flash), FLV (Flash Vide), PDF, AVI, WMV, MP4, MPG, MPEG, YuTube, ASX (Streaming Media), MOV and M4V (QuickTime) The Web Part can als be used t display a single static mvie by specifying a filename in the "Media File Name" parameter field. The Web Part als allws t play back YuTube vides. The fllwing parameters can be cnfigured: Sharepint Library cntaining the media file(s) Single mvie/mvie rtatin mde Media Player dimensins Display f Title and Descriptin infrmatin taken frm the Sharepint Library Display f a Playlist fr manual selectin f the media files t be played back Web Part Cnnectin t a Sharepint List r Library Prerequisites Befre yu attempt t install the slutins yu need t make sure that yu have the fllwing installed n yur server(s): Windws SharePint Services 3.0 r Micrsft Office SharePint Server 2007 Installatin Manual Installatin 1. dwnlad and unpack the AEMediaPlayerWebpart.zip file. The ZIP archive cntains the AEMediaPlayerWebpart.dll and the AEMediaPlayer.webpart files. 2. drp the AEMediaPlayerWebpart.dll either int the SPS web applicatin bin directry r int the GAC f yur Sharepint server (c:\windws\assembly). 3. add the fllwing line t the "<SafeCntrls>" sectin f yur Web.Cnfig file. Please make sure that the line is added as ne single line (n line breaks): <SafeCntrl Assembly="AEMediaPlayerWebpart, Versin= , Culture=neutral, PublicKeyTken=3a23bdcd5c5a3294" Namespace="AEMediaPlayerWebpart" TypeName="*" Safe="True" /> 4. frm the tp site g t "Site Actins/Site Settings/Mdify All Site Settings/Galleries/Web Parts" 5. use the "Uplad" menu ptin t uplad the AEMediaPlayer.webpart file. Autmatic Installatin 1. Unpack the AEMediaPlayerWebpart.wsp and Install.bat files frm the Zip Archive and place the 2 files nt yur Sharepint Server. 2. Add the Slutin by either running Install.bat r manually entering: stsadm - addslutin -filename AEMediaPlayerWebpart.wsp

3 3. Deply the slutin by navigating with yur brwser t Central Administratin->Operatins->Slutin Management : 4. Yu shuld nw see the AEMediaPlayerWebpart.wsp in the farm s slutin stre: Click n AEMediaPlayerWebpart.wsp t deply the slutin: 5. Prceed t activate the feature by navigating t the Site Actins/Site Settings page in yur tp-level site: Chse Site cllectin features t navigate t the Site Cllectin Features page:

4 Activate the AE MSN Stck Qutes Web Part feature Adding the Web Part t a Page Navigate t a page where yu wuld like t place the web part and chse "Site Actins/Edit Page" 1. Add the web part t the apprpriate zne. The web part is listed in the "Amrein Engineering" gallery sectin :

Cnfigure the fllwing Web Part prperties in the Web Part Editr "Miscellaneus" pane sectin as needed: Site Name: Enter the name f the site that cntains the Media Player Sharepint Library: - leave this field empty if the Library in the current site (eg. the Web Part is placed in the same site) - Enter a "/" character if the Library is cntained in the tp site - Enter a path if the Library in a subsite f the current site (eg. in the frm f "current site/subsite") List Name: Enter the desired Sharepint Library r List. This can either be a Picture Library (r a Dcument Library) where yu uplad yur media files r a Sharepint List where yu stre external media file references (as eg. YuTube mvies). View Name: Optinally enter the desired List View f the list specified abve. A List View allws yu t specify specific data filtering and srting. Leave this field empty if yu want t use the List default view. Media File Name: Randm Mvie Rtatr: if this field is left empty, a media file frm the specified Sharepint Library will be randmly selected every time the page is accessed. Static Display: If yu rather want t statically display a specific media file frm the specified Sharepint Library, enter the media file name including the file extensin (withut any path infrmatin) Example: myvide.wmv YuTube Vide: if yu paste a YuTube URL (explained belw) int this field, the crrespnding YuTube vide will be played. Yu can find the YuTube URL fr in the tp right crner f the YuTube page n f the vide t be displayed:

6 Cut & paste the value int the "Media File Name" field. The URL is f the frm: External Vides: enter the URL f the mvie int this field t play the crrespnding mvie. Leave the "List Name" field empty since yu are nt referring t a lcally stred media file. Examples: CNN Daily News Create a Web Part Cnnectin between the Sharepint List and the Media Player Web Part as fllws: - switch the page t "Edit" mde - Chse "Cnnectins" frm the List Web Part "edit" menu - Chse "Prvide Rw T" - Select the Media Player Web Part in the menu If yu cnnect t a Sharepint List (as ppsed t a Library) where yu reference external media files (as eg. YuTube vides r media files residing n anther web server), yu need t put the media file URL's int a List clumn named "URL". Yu might als want t add a "Descriptin" List clumn t stre the media file descriptins. Belw is an example f a web part cnnectin using a custm List View with nly the "Title" clumn selected:

7 Player Width: enter the desired width f the Media Player in pixels (YuTube standard width is 425 pixels) Player Height: enter the desired height f the Media Player in pixels (YuTube standard height is 344 pixels) Shw Title and Descriptin: this ptinal setting displays the media file Title in the Web Part header and the media file Descriptin in the Web Part bdy. These values are retrieved frm the Sharepint list entry (if present). Sharepint Picture libraries already have these fields predefined. Yu have t manually create a Descriptin field (if needed) fr Sharepint Dcument Libraries. Transparency at start: Specifies whether the Windws Media Player cntrl is transparent befre play begins and after play ends Shw Playlist: lists all the media files cntained in the specified Sharepint Library r Sharepint List (external files) as a playlist fr manual media file playback selectin. If the Sharepint Library/List cntains a "Title" clumn, the playlist will shw the values taken frm this clumn. Als, if the Sharepint Library/List cntains a "Descriptin" clumn, these values will be shwn in the playlist. Please nte that the playlist will be suppressed if a file name has been entered in the "Media File Name" field.

8 Use QuickTime Player: frce usage f the QuickTime Player plug-in Autplay: check this field if yu want t start the mvie autmatically withut user interventin. License Key: enter yur Prduct License Key (as supplied after purchase f the Enterprise license). Leave this field empty if yu are using the 30 day evaluatin versin r if yu chse ne f the License Activatin described belw. License Activatin Yu have the fllwing 3 ptins t enter yur License Key: 1. Enter the License Key int the crrespnding License Key field in the web part cnfiguratin pane (see abve). 2. WSP Slutin Deplyment: Add the License.txt file (as supplied by AMREIN ENGINEERING after having purchased a license) t the Slutin at the fllwing lcatin: WSS3.0 and MOSS2007: c:\prgram Files\Cmmn Files\Micrsft Shared\Web Server Extensins\12\template\features\AEMediaPlayerWebpart SP 2010: c:\prgram Files\Cmmn Files\Micrsft Shared\Web Server Extensins\14\template\features\AEMediaPlayerWebpart SP 2013: c:\prgram Files\Cmmn Files\Micrsft Shared\Web Server Extensins\15\template\features\AEMediaPlayerWebpart 3. Manual Deplyment: Add the License Key t yur web.cnfig (typically fund at c:\inetpub\wwwrt\wss\virtualdirectries\80) <appsettings> sectin as fllws: <appsettings> <add key="aemp" value="aemp-x-xxxxx-xxxxx-xx-xx" /> </appsettings> Replace the x characters with yur actual key values. Please nte that this methd requires yu t manually add the key t each Sharepint applicatin.
