4 DTU Sftware DTU Sftware general The DTU sftware allws yu t send data frm yur Digi-Star indicatr t yur PC. The DTU sftware can wrk with all Digi-Star cmmunicatin devices (DataKey, DDL mdule and Memry Card). It als allws yu t cnnect yur indicatr directly t yu PC and receive streaming data r send cmmands. Fllw the installatin instructin n Page: 2. Select the cmmunicatin device that yu use and fllw the manual instructins. Check the indicatr manual fr the data and print frmats that yu can send t yur PC. Minimum System Requirements Make certain that yur system includes the fllwing hardware and sftware. 5 Install sftware Install Sftware: 1. Insert the DTU CD int yur CD-ROM drive. 2. Frm yur Windws start menu, select RUN. 3. Select BROWSE n yur CD drive, select Setup.exe. 4. Click Open. 5. Click OK. 6. Fllw the installatin prmpts frm the sftware. D3912-GB Rev A DTU Sftware manual 2

7 Settings System settings Cm Prt Settings: This is the pre-defined prt. Chse Aut Find t autmatically find the Cm Prt the device is cnnected t. File Lcatin: This is the default lcatin n yur PC where the data will be saved File Type: This is the default file type. Preferred Hardware: Select the hardware device that yu use. 9 DataKey peratins The DataKey can be used fr sending and receiving feeding and grup data t yur Digi-Star EZ3600V and EZ4600 indicatrs. Clear DataKey: Delete all data frm DataKey DataKey status: This will get the current status f a Digi-Star DataKey that is cnnected t yur PC via a Dcking Statin Read/View DataKey Click the arrws buttn t retrieve the infrmatin frm the Digi-Star DataKey Click the Save buttn t save what is n-screen. 10 Make DataKey Chse the Feeding Mde that yu want t feed in. (list r Lads mde) Chse the Feeding number. Enter the Recipes enter all ingredients f each recipe Enter the grups yu want t feed Check the Recipe that yu want t send t the DataKey Check the Grup(s) that yu want fed that recipe t. 11 DDL peratins The DDL can be used fr transferring weight, feeding, field and ther infrmatin frm the Digi-Star GT400, EZ2400V and EZ3400V indicatrs t a PC. Check the indicatr manual fr the available data print frmats. Nte: In rder t stre data frm the indicatr t the DDL, the DDL mdule has t be cnnected t the serial prt f yur indicatr at any time. The indicatrs mentined abve have NO internal memry s withut the DDL installed n data will be stred. Use the in the DDL kit included serial cable (and if required USB cnverter) t cnnect DDL mdule t PC. 13 Streaming Data The Streaming Data screen is designed t send and receive infrmatin thrugh a RS232 cnnectin and display/save that infrmatin. Step 1 Set the Cmmunicatin Prt Step 2 Start/Open the Cmmunicatin Prt by clicking Click the buttn t pause the prcess. 14 Infrmatin is als displayed as Trace will turn n and turn ff this windw. Decimal/Hex Based: when yur muse hvers ver an item, an autmatic windw will display the value. Time Recrded: displays hw lng yu have been Sending/Receiving infrmatin Yu als have the ability t Save/Print in many frmats using the buttns n the right. Sending Infrmatin EZ1 Cmmands: Listing f all Digi-Star EZ1 cmmands EZ2 Cmmands: Listing f several f the Digi-Star EZ2 Cmmands Custm Cmmand: Ability fr yu t build/send any cmmand Run Scripts: Ability t read in a Text file that cntains a list f cmmands and send them ut ne at a time.
