1 CALL TO ARTISTS 17 th Annual Encore Art Sale And Celebration of Creative Expression The Event: Ball & Chain Created By Merv Krivoshein The Encore Art Sale and Celebration of Creative Expression is a cultural event that kicks off the spring season of each year. It encompasses visual and musical arts, providing a unique cultural experience for all who attend. This year we are pleased to have Merv Krivoshein of Rocky Mountain House as our featured artist. Merv is an incredible wood worker from Rocky Mountain House, who always amazes us with his 'out of the box' creations and manipulations of beautiful woods from around the world. Friday night will also have has a special event / fundraiser for the Arts Endowment as part of the Art Sale. This will attract additional people to the sale that you can market your artwork to. As added features, Friday from 5-8pm, ($5 per beverage) and appetizers, and on Saturday from 2-4pm we will serve wine & beer once again. We do recommend that you provide your own meal Friday evening to ensure you don't go hungry! Corner spaces will be used for a small silent auction Friday night and will not be available for storage/sales space. There will be live music both days, and Anna Maria s café will be serving their fabulous home-made lunches, coffees and desserts each day. We will have volunteer staff on hand to provide relief to booth artists so that they may take a quick break as needed. Advertising for the event (posters, post cards, radio, social media, newspaper etc.) A catalogue of all the artists in attendance, their website addresses and a short sentence about each artist. Debit, & credit card processing a 2% fee is charged for this service. Security Friday night

2 Artist Guidelines - please read as some have changed 1. This is a juried show. Three to five photographs of current works and one photo of your booth are required or your application will not be accepted. These details are necessary for the jury selection process, and for placement of artists at the show. We strive to place artists in complimentary spots in the facility, and knowing how you plan on displaying your art assists us in this process. In years past, artists have submitted old booth photos, and then changed their layout which sometimes means their new booth may not be complimentary to or work with the booth that is beside them. Please send us no more than 3-5 current photos, and not your brochures. We will use one of your photographs in the event catalogue. 2. A short paragraph (3 or 4 sentences) to describe your work for inclusion in the event catalogue. 3. All information (photos, descriptions, application) may be submitted via disk/thumb drive or hard copy with your entry fee. If you submit a hard copy, please also us your 3-5 pictures. 4. The majority of the work must be original work completed by the exhibitor. New works are highly encouraged to keep the event fresh and inviting to the public. 5. All walls brought by the exhibitor must be finished or tastefully covered on the back side so that they do not detract from the exhibitors beside them. Artists must provide their own wall coverings - tablecloths from the event are not to be used for this purpose. Booths not meeting these standards will not be allowed to set up at the event 6. Exhibitors will not be accepted unless payment in full is received with the application. Applications must be received by February 26, 2016 at noon, and successful applicants will be notified of acceptance by March 15th. Cheques will be deposited the week of March 15th. 7. Electrical power will be available on a limited basis and must be ordered with your application form. Requests for electricity at the show may not be possible. Exhibitors are responsible for bringing extension cords, power bars and lighting. 8. Exhibitor placement will be at the organizing committee s discretion. 9. Artists may share a booth, and your booth must be manned for the two days. 10. Artists may begin set up on Thursday, April 16th, from 2-5pm, however there is no security Thursday night. 11. Exhibitors are asked to assist in the promotion of the event. The organizing committee will provide postcards & posters for distribution along with your acceptance letter. The organizing committee reserves the right to reject any items they consider offensive for a family audience. 13. The organizing committee is not responsible for injuries, damage or losses to exhibitors or their goods.

5 Gallery Registrations: Your entry fee includes one Friday luncheon ticket, please order extras on your application form if needed. The event has gallery space for emerging artists, and those who for various reasons, may not be able to be in attendance for both days. We encourage gallery artists to be present, however we provide staff to assist buyers in the gallery area answering questions and assisting with purchases. Commissions are not charged on pieces sold. The Gallery Coordinators are responsible for setting up the artwork in the gallery area, and you are asked not to move anything once it has been placed. They will re-organize the gallery throughout the weekend as pieces sell. Dependant on the number of artists juried into the Gallery, artists may have two or three pieces displayed at one time in the gallery. You may have one additional piece in storage to replace a piece when it sells, for a total of four pieces of artwork for sale during the weekend. It is recommended that you submit pieces of various sizes, as space is very limited for extra large pieces. Artist and pricing information needs to be firmly attached to the front and back of each piece, and your artwork must be delivered to the Gallery Coordinators by 10am on Friday April 15th. Gallery entries will be juried. Please provide a photograph and the size of each of each piece you are submitting. Please also include a brief paragraph describing you or your work for inclusion in the event program (see the last page of this call to enter for samples), as well as a separate one page description of yourself and your work which will be given to the purchasers of your work.
