1 Art Educators, My name is Brenda Gregory and I am working directly with the Florida State Fair Art Portfolio for High School Seniors contest. We have implemented some major changes this year to make it easier for students to participate in the contest.! Simplified application (no letters of recommendation, transcripts or portfolio folders)! A completed Portfolio Application will consist of a Flash Drive or CD/DVD, Entry Form and Content Sheet.! Original artwork will not be needed for final exhibition. If you are invited to participate in the exhibition you will have the option to display digital prints from your original work. We will take the files that you submit and print them for the final exhibition at the Fair. You will also be able to submit original work if you want to do so.! No risk of loss or damage to artwork. By having digital prints on display, students with 3D artwork can submit their work without worrying about shipping it and having it damaged in shipping.! If you do decide to submit original work I will take the utmost care in handling the work and returning it to you safely at no cost for return mailing.! This year we will be is awarding $10,000 in scholarship money to six High School Seniors. The first prize is $3500, second prize is $2500 and 4 awards of merit for $1000 will be presented at this years fair in February. I hope with the revisions made to the application that you will be encouraged to apply this year. With more then 450,000 visitors this is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase the work of your most talented students of art as well as the school they attend. The student can build their resume and of course win scholarship money for continuing your art education. Please see attached application due December 11. Please share this call with other art teachers (even private, home school or non-magnet schools) that are not copied on this . Or print out additional application at: Once on Exhibit Entry Form page (scroll down to find Art Portfolio Contest for High School Seniors link) For more information contact Brenda Gregory at OR Brenda Gregory at Brenda Gregory Art Portfolio for High School Seniors contest, coordinator
