The GSMA-led annuncement als utlined the rganisatin s rle in develping the necessary certificatin and testing standards t ensure glbal interperability f mbile NFC services In Q3 2011, Orange, tgether with the GSMA and several ther peratrs, cntributed t a new specificatin fr NFC handset APIs & requirements t prmte the glbal interperability f

In December 2012, Orange and China Mbile have signed a memrandum f understanding (MU) that aims t accelerate the cmmercializatin f mbile cntactless services by integrating standardized technical prtcls based n the SIM card int their respective services. This expnential grwth attests t the strng cnsumer appetite fr this innvative, simple and practical mbile payment service in cuntries where the ppulatin has limited access t bank accunts but is widely equipped with mbile phnes. Access t Orange Mney is very easy: mbile phne custmers may pen an Orange Mney accunt fr free whether r nt they have a bank accunt. It allws custmers t carry ut simple banking peratins and transactins in ttal security. The three key services include: mney transfers: where users can send mney using their phne t any Orange Mney custmer in the cuntry; financial services: including slutins facilitating savings and insurance (accrding t the cuntry); payments: giving users an easier way t pay their bills, as well as prviding a simple way t buy mbile phne credit. These tw last categries f service are grwing quickly. Thanks t partnerships with lcal service prviders, Orange Mney custmers can pay sme f their bills with their mbile phne. This is enables custmers t benefit frm the cmfrt and flexibility f a remte payment system and in many cases allws them t avid a lng and difficult jurney. Fr example, Orange Mney custmers can already pay their electricity bills in eight cuntries, their pay-tv in 5 cuntries, and even traffic fines in Jrdan. In additin t payment, Orange Mney als prvides custmers wh d nt have a bank accunt with a way t save mney. And in three cuntries,, custmers can nw maker their life insurance payments thrugh Orange Mney. It is Orange s bjective t have 30 millin Orange Mney cstumers in 2015.
