Over 300m has been invested to date in this 1billion project with over 3,700 jobs created. Progress to date includes: The first phase of the 70 million Town Centre boasting household 2015 will see further progress at Longbridge including: The opening of the 150,000 sq ft Marks and Spencer store for Christmas A further nine new retail units and a 1,200 space multi-storey car park The start of work on the 260 ExtraCare retirement village apartments The opening of the new Construction Centre for Bournville College retailers such as Sainsbury s, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Premier Inn and Beefeater New employment and learning opportunities created at the awardwinning Park Point office building, Seven House on High Street, the Longbridge Technology Park which is home to over 50 businesses, Bournville College and The Factory youth centre 132 new houses at St. Modwen Homes Park View development which have all been sold and a further 229 homes are being built by Persimmon at Cofton Fields New public realm and infrastructure improvements, including the two acre Austin Park

The Package will boost both the B C Up to 215 new homes and apartments at the town centre Up to 105,000 sq ft headquarters office building at One Park Square in the town centre physical and digital infrastructure in the area and will also offer significant benefits to local residents. 3 A NEW LANDMARK M&S - THE LARGEST IN THE MIDLANDS LICKEY ROAD HIGH STREET LANE WORK HAS ALREADY STARTED ON BUILDING THE MIDLANDS LARGEST MARKS & SPENCER STORE The 150,000 sq ft, two-storey outlet will offer clothing, food and a café and will open in time for Christmas The landmark M&S has been designed to celebrate the site s engineering heritage with metal cladding and will have a green wall watered by rainwater harvested from the building. Up to 350 store jobs will be generated and a further 150 will be created through the construction process. A six storey car park for 1200 cars is also being provided. The new M&S will anchor the second phase of Longbridge Town Centre, for which planning consent has already been granted. This will provide 45,000 sq ft of retail, restaurant and café space to further add to the bustling environment of the Town Centre which already attracts over 26,000 shoppers per week.

4 NEW RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES FOR THE ROYAL CENTRE FOR DEFENCE MEDICINE LICKEY ROAD HIGH STREET LANE Birmingham has long celebrated its state of the art military medical facilities at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine Royal Centre for Defence Medicine (RCDM) (RCDM) at the city s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, but the provision of accommodation for the medical teams working with injured military personnel there, no longer matches the standard of care. The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is working with St. Modwen to develop proposals to deliver modern, comfortable and high quality accommodation at Longbridge for medics working at the RCDM. This signature building will provide 180 en-suite bedrooms and support facilities built on land off the A38 Bristol Road within easy walking distance of bus and train connections to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A planning application will be submitted following consultation. QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL

5 UP TO 215 NEW RESIDENTIAL HOMES Plans have been prepared for another phase of up to 215 new homes located between the ExtraCare residential facility and the railway line. LICKEY ROAD The new homes will be accessed from Lickey Road via Dalmuir Road. LANE HIGH STREET LANE A new pedestrian route will also be created to link into Longbridge town centre and Austin Park. The plans propose a range of house types and styles that will be a mix of two, two and a half and three storey buildings with four storey buildings at key corners of the site. Car parking and cycle storage will be allocated to each dwelling. This is an outline planning application which means that the detail of the actual housing has not yet been designed.

6 EXTRACARE 35 MILLION RETIREMENT VILLAGE SUPPORTING AN INDEPENDENT AND ENRICHING LIFESTYLE Set on five acres fronting Lickey Road, the three and five storey village will provide 260 one and two bed apartments. Construction work is set to begin in early 2015 and will also include a new access road and roundabout, undercroft parking and landscaping. The Longbridge retirement village will offer a range of communal facilities including a village hall, bar and restaurant, gym, IT suite, hair and beauty salon and shop that can be accessed by residents, their families and Longbridge residents. Up to 50 activities will also be on offer per week including choir singing, IT, wheelchair aerobics and gardening. 7 ONE PARK SQUARE: UP TO 105,000 SQ FT HEADQUARTERS OFFICE BUILDING One Park Square will provide a new headquarters style office building for Longbridge town centre. The proposed four storey building will provide up to 105,000 sq ft of office space with floors of approximately 22,000 sq ft. A surface level car park will provide 142 car parking spaces, with access via the existing Dalmuir Road entrance off Lickey Road. 8 LOCAL GROWTH FUND HIGHWAY WORKS: RAIL STATION Delivered in Partnership by Centro, Birmingham City Council, Network Rail and London Midland Regional transport co-ordinating body Centro, Birmingham City Council, Network Rail and London Midland are working together to deliver over 1million worth of improvements to Longbridge Rail Station to provide a modern, high quality passenger facility and encourage more people to use public transport. The improvements include: Upgrading the station facade in a similar style to University Station (e.g. cladding, glazing, painting) Automatic power entrance doors CCTV upgrade Redecorate the booking hall Renovate the toilets Installation of services to facilitate addition ticket machines Lighting improvements Redecorate the bridge and stairwells Additional customer information screens Glaze and enclose waiting area on Platform 1, and install heating Painting of both parapet walls of the road overbridge immediately outside the station Upgrade of all seating on both platforms & Extended canopy / additional waiting shelter on Platform 1 Birmingham International Airport

10 LOCAL GROWTH FUND HIGHWAY WORKS: BUS PASSENGER AND PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS Delivered by Centro Longbridge is a key destination and interchange for bus services across Southern Birmingham and further afield. The town centre boasts direct and frequent bus services to Birmingham City Centre,, Worcester and Redditch amongst other key local destinations and commercial centres. Longbridge also acts as the southern gateway to the strategic Bristol Road Corridor with direct and frequent connections to education and & employment opportunities and business development at the University To aid bus passengers and pedestrians navigate around Longbridge Town Centre a comprehensive wayfinding strategy has been developed by St. Modwen but this needs to be extended to cover the enhanced bus stop infrastructure. Additional wayfinding and public transport totems will be installed across the site. The following locations are proposed: Outside the Station In the vicinity of Sunbury Road shops of Birmingham, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other commercial developments at Battery Park and Selly Oak. On the A38 close to the Technology Park On the A38 in the vicinity of the pedestrian access from To facilitate and encourage bus journeys to and from Longbridge it is proposed to upgrade the bus stop infrastructure to include: High quality weatherproof shelters including seating Common branded design Lickey Road roundabout On Lickey Road in vicinity of the bus stops and pedestrian crossing; and On the A38 in the vicinity of the bus stops where the former Dudley College building is situated. 11 LOCAL GROWTH FUND HIGHWAY WORKS: ISLAND Delivered by St. Modwen and Birmingham City Council The Longbridge 2015/2016 stage of works proposes to improve the A38 roundabout junction with Lickey Road to improve traffic flow and accommodate development. The scheme will also provide access to Longbridge West. It will also help to improve connectivity to as well as north and east Birmingham. This will help to increase capacity, accommodate development and assist the safe crossing of pedestrians. 14 LOCAL GROWTH FUND HIGHWAY WORKS: FIBRE OPTIC BROADBAND Information and Communication Technology is the cornerstone of the modern economy, underpinning commercial activity across all sectors. The ultrafast broadband will provide the same connectivity as Birmingham city centre and make the business hub more attractive to heavy-use operations such as data centres, E-commerce and data mining companies and internet exchange points. Longbridge has the potential to install ultrafast broadband connections as part of the utilities package and aspires to act as a partner in Birmingham s bid to become a Smart City. It will also reinforce Longbridge s ITEC Park status which it was granted by Birmingham City Council in 2012 in recognition of its potential to attract millions of pounds of inward investment from ICT companies, in turn generating thousands of jobs. & Birmingham International Airport

15 THE CYCLE CONNECTIVITY PROJECT Delivered by Birmingham City Council Birmingham City Council, St. Modwen and Sustrans, the operators of the National Cycle Network (NCN), are working on 170,000 proposals to divert the NCN Route 5 through the heart of Longbridge and provide new cycling links to help foster the burgeoning cycling community. The proposal is to extend the traffic free route along the River Rea to Tessall Lane and connect with the Bike Hub at Longbridge Rail Station. From here, there are off-road routes into Longbridge Town Centre through the new Austin Park and on to the A38. The infrastructure includes: Road space reallocation on Tessall Lane to provide contra-flow cycle lane between River Rea and Longbridge Lane OPTION 1 Environmental improvements to A38 underpass, including replacement of the former track bed, drainage, surfacing, new & LAYOUT PLAN TO BE SUPPLIED wall cladding and a new artist-designed lighting scheme Reopening and improving the ramp alongside the former Dudley College including street lighting, resurfacing and CCTV A new foot/cycle bridge over the River Rea Relocation of parking on Tessal Lane to the Centro P&R to improve safety. Option 1 Provides significant improvements to pedestrians and cyclists and provides improved traffic flows along Longbridge Lane and A38 / Tessall Lane Junction.
