ABOUT CBCF CBCF is a community-driven charity and the largest funder of breast cancer research in Canada.! CBCF funds high-quality research that addresses every aspect of the disease, from prevention through to quality of life and survivorship! CBCF also funds wide range of training fellowships, further propelling the advancement of knowledge and talent at Canada s top research and treatment institutes! Currently there are over 160 CBCF-funded research projects under way in Ontario alone. Funds raised through the Culinary Showdown will help CBCF in our work:! Reducing the incidence of breast cancer so that fewer women experience a breast cancer diagnosis! Reducing the mortality rate from breast cancer through earlier detection and more effective treatment! Supporting women and their families who have experienced a breast cancer diagnosis

WHAT IS THE KITCHENAID COOK FOR THE CURE CULINARY SHOWDOWN The Culinary Showdown is the ultimate competition where the Top 50 Fundraisers earn the right to compete on a celebrity chef team in front of a live audience. Participants enjoy the fun of the competition while dining on a gourmet meal while top fundraisers earn participation in Celebrity Chef School. How people attend the event: To attend the exclusive event, participants must achieve one of two minimum fundraising targets:! $1,000 to attend the Culinary Showdown, enjoy a three-course meal and have the opportunity to win incentive prizes.! $2,500 to participate in the Celebrity Chefs School, attend the Culinary Showdown, enjoy a threecourse meal, win incentive prizes, and compete to be one of the Top 50 Fundraisers.! Top 50 Fundraisers earn all of the rewards of raising $2,500, AND compete on stage alongside celebrity chefs. They will also receive a branded apron, a chef s hat, and a gift from KitchenAid. This unique event includes the following exciting initiatives:! Celebrity Chefs School 10am-3pm: Participants learn culinary tips and tricks from a celebrity chef. They learn trade secrets on food prep, knife skills, cooking methods, and more.! Cocktail Reception 6:30pm: Participants mingle over cocktails with fellow foodies.! The Culinary Showdown 7pm: Let the show begin! Audience members enjoy a delicious meal as celebrity chefs and their teams of top fundraisers take the stage. Five teams compete under the spotlight to create three unique dishes and applying the skills mastered during Celebrity Chefs School.! The evening also includes a one-of-a-kind silent and live auction including culinary experiences from the participating chefs.

A GREAT SUCCESS IN ITS INAUGURAL YEAR! The first annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation KitchenAid Cook for the Cure Culinary Showdown was held on December 7, 2013 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto. The Culinary Showdown raised over $600,000 to support the most promising breast cancer research, health education and advocacy initiatives that aim to reduce the incidence of breast cancer, lower mortality rates and support women and their families who have experienced breast cancer.! 67 people reached the $1,000 fundraising milestone to attend the Culinary Showdown.! The top fundraiser raised $20,000.! 50 of the top fundraisers participated in Celebrity Chefs Cooking School during the day and participated on the team of a celebrity chef during the Showdown.! A total of 307 people attended the Culinary Showdown, including fundraisers, sponsors, media and potential major gift donors.
