After getting EC and grant of lease proponent will start land use for open cast surface mining activities. 15 Geo-hydrological features: (Secondary Data) Jamnagar District extends from North 21º40' latitude to 22º57' latitude and 68º57 ' to 70º 37' Eastern longitude. Its coastline is 355km long. The total area of the district is 14,125sq km. The district has Ten Talukas consisting of 694 villages and 17 urban towns. As per the 2001 census total urban population is 7.32 lakh souls. Average rainfall of last decade is 555 mm. Geologically 80% of Jamnagar district is covered by Basalt rock formation (Deccan Trap) which is found in Jamnagar, Kalavad, Dhrol, Lalpur, Jamjodhpur, Bhanvad, Jamkhambaliya, Jodia and Kalyanpur talukas, whereas rest part of Jamnagar district it is overlained by Laterite, Bauxite, Gaj beds, Dwarka beds, and Miliolitic limestone and alluvium along the coastal line. In Basalt formation the ground water occurs in unconfined to semi-confined and confined deep aquifers. The ground water is confined to secondary porosity and permeability such as weathered basalt, joints, fractures, fissures, dykes etc. In this district the bore wells are drilled generally 30 to 500 meters deep. In Okha Mandal taluka, bore wells are drilled by D.R. rig. In parts of Kalyanpur and Okha Mandal taluka, there is inherent salinity, except in few pockets where potable ground water is found. In this area thirty meter to sixty-meter deep D.R. tube wells are constructed. 16 Predominant wind direction Winds are generally light and moderate in summer. They become stronger when westerly t south-

westerly winds prevail during the south-west monsoon season. In October winds are from west and north east. In November and December winds are mainly from north-east direction. In January and February winds are again from west and north east directions. Experience worker would than manually cut the levelled stone in different sizes. Wet cutting method involving spraying water onto the rotating cutting disk would be used to reduce dust emissions via spray heads or jets normally attached to opposite sides of the guard. An on-off valve is fitted to control the water supply with an in-line

filter, often installed to prevent the heads becoming blocked. Once the required blocks of mined stone are cut as per the sizes, they are kept aside for loading. Rain water harvesting post mining use. Pole marking and fencing will be done. Marginally area surrounding lease periphery and plantation on both side of kutcha road. We have also tied up with gram panchayat to grow more than 500 trees in and around the village which covers local school, and approach road of village.

Environment Management Plan Following sections describes the environment management plan proposed for Black Trap mining. Controlled blasting techniques will be done. Overburden material will be stacked at lower height & at identified place. Regular water sprinkling is carried out. Watering of haul roads and other roads at regular intervals. Regular water sprinkling & strengthening of road will be carried out to avoid dustiness due to vehicular transportation. Provision of dust filters/mask to workers. Provision of green belt all along the periphery of project site as well as along the road side leading to pucca road. In case of long transportation, the trucks after loading will be well covered. Speed of the vehicles should be maintained to the body level. Control blasting will be carried out under supervision. Proper maintenance of machinery, equipments and improvement on design of machines. Personal Protective devices i.e., earmuffs and earplugs will be provided to workers. All vehicles which create high noise will be avoided. Creation of wide green belts of dense foliage between mine areas and residential colonies. The greenbelt with species of rich canopy around the lease area and roads will further attenuate the noise levels. Mining activity will be restricted to day time only. Conducting periodical medical check up of all workers for any noise related health problems. Proper training to personnel to create awareness about adverse noise level effects. Domestic wastewater disposed into underground soak Pit System having capacity 4 m3. Ensure proper training to drivers for transportation and emergency actions Ensure provision of PPE s to truck drivers during transportation. Ensure development and maintenance of proper green belt proposed. Continue policy of local employment.
