Environmental Management Plan

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN An Environmental Management Plan is prepared for construction phase, post construction phase (commissioning & operation) and for post project phase. The environmental management plan is prepared to minimize the impact of atmospheric emissions, liquid effluents, solid wastes and noise generation on the surrounding environment. PART A: During Construction phase Air Environment: During Construction ready mix concrete in enclosed container shall be used. We will take appropriate measures to minimize the generation of dust as a result of construction works. Such measures include frequent spraying during low rainfall periods or by other means approved by the CEO or Site Manager Dust dispersion from construction activities, unsurfaced roads, spoil dumps and other construction locations shall be limited and suppressed to the maximum extent practical. The purpose of the fenced areas is to control construction and personal activity within the designated areas, and limit unauthorized access. Barricades will be provided along with the periphery of the site. If fencing is removed temporarily for the execution of work, we shall reinstate it as soon as practicable. Until re-instatement, we will demarcate the working area by surrounding it with danger tape marking. Dust covers will be provided on trucks that would be used for transportation DG as per CPCB norms. Ambient air quality monitoring for the parameters So 2,, No x, PM 10,, PM 2.5 will be done regularly. PUC certified vehicles would be allowed in the campus. Water Environment: All latrines provided will be efficient, sanitary and no offensive. A minimum of one toilet shall be provided per 10 persons at each working area such as the construction camp. The latrines will be serviced on regular basis to avoid overflowing. Treated water will be used in construction works. We will dispose of all refuse generated by the staff on a weekly basis at a registered Domestic Waste Disposal Site or through packaged STP. Water analysis shall be done as per IS: Land Environment: Temporary storage of construction waste will be limited within the site and Separate storage of Construction material will be done in areas designated by CEO Storage of HSD 50 lit in drum at designated place. Noise Environment:

Ear plugs will be provided to all Labors. High noise generating construction activities would be carried out only during day time. Proper lubrication and servicing of machineries on regular intervals will carried out as a part of Preventive maintenance of machines. Acoustic enclosures will be provided for DG sets for noise reduction. Noise monitoring will be carried out on site at regular intervals. Biological Environment: Plantation of 148Nos of trees will start in mid of construction phase. There will be no impact on biological environment during construction phase. Socio-Economical Environment: Constant supply of potable water for human consumption and other domestic use on site will be provided. Chemical testing of water samples on a monthly basis, or more frequently if suspected by the CEO, will be carried out. 05Nos of toilets for 50 nos. workers are provided for toilet and bathing facilities Proposed project will require manpower during construction phase thereby creating job opportunities. Proper training will be provided regarding fire fighting equipments, maintenance of Health, Personal protective and safety equipments will be provided. Approved safety helmets and other protective clothing shall be worn where deemed necessary by the Supervisor First aid facility will be provided for adequate first aid services. PART A: During Operation Phase Air environment: Green Belt with no trees around the site will be provided. Use of indigenous plants will be insisted. The air quality surveillance program may be strengthened keeping in view the combined maximum impacts from post-project activities particularly in critical downwind directions. DG sets 1 No of 82.5 KVA D.G. Set & 2 No s of 100 KVA D.G. Set will be installed with acoustic measures as per CPCB norms and Generator exhaust will be taken above top level of building as per CPCB norms. Acoustical Enclosures for DG set will be provided to reduce noise intensity in the surrounding area. Proper parking facilities and demarcated areas will be allotted on site to Smoothen traffic flow inside the campus. Ambient air quality monitoring for the parameters So 2,, No x, PM 10,, PM 2.5 will be done on regular intervals. PUC certified vehicles for flat owners will be insisted. Water Environment: The sewage will be treated in full fledged sewage treatment plant =240m 3 /day and sewage shall be reused for flushing and landscaping ( m 3 /day).

The storm water management will be implemented on site to avoid run-off. 7Nos of recharge pits will be provided for rain water harvesting on site. During operation phase no waste water stream or solid/hazardous waste will be discharged to any water body. Land Environment: Proper disposal of waste through well managed Solid waste Management team kg/day Dry waste will be sold out. 559 kg/day Wet garbage will be composted using Organic Waste Composter. The processed waste will be used as Manure. Noise Environment: Adequate tree plantation and Compound wall will be to act as noise buffer. DG set will be provided, it should have acoustic enclosures for effective noise reduction of 25 db (A). Noise suppression measures such as enclosures, and/ or protective measures should be provided (wherever noise level is more than 90dB (A). Extensive oiling, lubrication and preventive maintenance will be carried out of the machineries and equipments to reduce noise generation. Monitoring of noise levels is essential to assess the efficacy of maintenance schedules undertaken to reduce noise levels and noise protection measures. The sources of intermittent noise generating equipment (pumps for lifts or water pumping, DG sets etc) will be provided with appropriate acoustic barriers so that the noise level within 100m of these facilities when in operation will be less than 70dB(A). Biological Environment: Implementation of greenbelt development (148Nos. of trees), landscaping, horticulture etc. Plant species selected based on adaptability to geographic conditions and keeping in view the local species and their benefits to site. Development of green belt surrounding the project area with reference to maintain the biological environment. Socio-Economic Environment: Improvement in transport, communication facilities, lifestyle and social status etc. due to ancillary development. Local skilled and laborers will have opportunities for employment directly and indirectly. Environmental Monitoring Plan Environmental monitoring of critical parameters is essential to assess the changes in environmental conditions, if any, during construction and operation of the project, to monitor the effective implementation of mitigation measures, and to suggest for any additional mitigation measures in case of significant deterioration of environmental quality

It is proposed to monitor essential parameters for ambient air quality, ambient noise quality, ground water quality, and waste water quality both during the construction and operation phases of the project. A. During Construction phase Component Parameters Location Frequency Duration Ambient Air Quality PM 10, PM 2.5, SO2, NOx, At the identified stations near the dust generating sources.
