5 A New Vision For Our City International Spotlight on Sydney The Chippendale Creative Precinct has a vision to transform the Chippendale district into an arts destination, akin to New York s Chelsea. The City of Sydney has embraced the CCP, supporting our community-driven initiatives. The City of Sydney recognises that the area is fertile ground for a creative hub one that will foster artistic and economic growth and propel Sydney onto the world stage.

6 Annual World-Class Events BEAMS Arts Festival A multi-disciplinary arts festival showcasing work from the whole spectrum of the arts, with creatives coming together in the hundreds to surge the voltage of ideas and inspiration. Chippendale New World Art Prize An Art Prize fostering emerging and established artists as the new voices of change, asking entrants to be inspired by art s capacity to breathe new life into the urban sphere and embrace the new world of art technologies within their entries. Chippendale Free Gallery Walking Tours On the first Saturday of each month, the CCP now offers the public free guided walking tours to a selection of Chippendale s 20 galleries. Art lovers have the chance to engage in talks with artists and gallerists and get behind Chippendale s edgy art scene in a relaxed social setting, over a complimentary glass of wine.

9 2015 BEAMS Arts Festival BEAMS is the crown jewel in the Chippendale Creative Precinct s yearly calendar. BEAMS is a kaleidoscope of creative energy that: Showcases a dizzying array of visual and performance artists, animators, artisans, architects, bespoke crafters, designers, production companies, creative contemplators and creative agencies Attracts 10,000+ local, national and international visitors Forges links between creative businesses, art institutions and the Sydney wider community BEAMS Chippendale onto the world stage. Inspires with the theme of Phenomena to show, to shine, to manifest, the phenomena that is Chippendale. Dazzles our audience for one bright night in Balfour St and surrounding laneways with bold works and performances from Sydney s bountiful creative community. To put a festival on for the second time is a real achievement and to do a festival that s even more fabulous than the last year, I think is wonderful.
