2 ABOUT THE SRPC AND RURAL AND REMOTE The SRPC is a national organization with over 3000 members, primarily physicians working in rural and remote regions of Canada. The goal of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada is to promote sustainable working conditions for rural healthcare workers and to assure provision of equitable healthcare for the people living in rural and remote parts of Canada. Provision of peer-to-peer continuing medical education is one of the main ways we do this. It presents rural doctors with an opportunity to gain or upgrade vital skills, exchange knowledge, develop their professional and social networks, and compare notes on the evolving field of rural medical practice.
