Online prctred exams are delivered thrugh Kryterin s Sentinel Secure sftware which allws the exam t be mnitred by a prctr thrugh a webcam. This dcument utlines the requirements fr yur Macintsh cmputer and testing envirnment, and includes instructins fr creating yur bimetric prfile and launching yur exam. Preparing fr Yur Online Prctred Exam In advance f yur scheduled exam, yu must fllw steps 1-4 t prepare yur cmputer fr yur nline prctred exam. Failure t fllw these steps culd prevent yu frm launching yur exam at its scheduled time and yu may be subject t a reschedule r cancellatin fee. Nte, when launching the Sentinel Secure sftware t create yur bimetric prfile and t begin yur exam, yu will nt be able t access any applicatins r dcuments n yur cmputer; we recmmend that yu print these instructins r access them frm a different device shuld yu need t reference them fr assistance. Hwever, when starting yur exam, yu must remve this guide and all ther materials frm yur testing area. Step 1: Verify Yur Cmputer s Technical Requirements T ensure yur cmputer can successfully dwnlad the Sentinel Secure sftware and launch yur exam, yu must meet the fllwing hardware, sftware, applicatin, audi, and webcam requirements. T check if yur cmputer meets the technical requirements, visit Hardware Hard drive with a minimum 50 MB available space Clr Vide (Minimum reslutin 1024 x 768) Webcam with Micrphne (an external, stand-alne webcam is required; built-in webcams are nt accepted). Macintsh cmpatible muse (ptinal) Internet access (Recmmended minimum f 1 Mbps uplad & 1 Mbps dwnlad) Administratr rights t yur cmputer. Sftware Operating system OSX (10.7 r newer with Intel prcessr) Installed Applicatins Nte: OSX is nt supprted, but r newer is. One f the fllwing internet brwsers: Prts Opened Safari (Latest versin) Firefx (Latest versin) Chrme (Latest versin) 80, 443, 1935 as well as 8082, 8083, 8084, 8085, and 8087 (Nte: Check yur firewall dcumentatin r cntact yur technlgy administratr.)

Headsets, earphnes, r recrding devices (such as a digital vide camcrder) are nt permitted. Vide/Webcam Requirements An external, stand-alne webcam is required. Built-in webcams are nt accepted. Recmmended specificatins: Minimum vide reslutin f 720p with a frame rate f 30 fps. High speed USB 2.0 cnnectin plug and play preferred. Camera viewing angle: 78 t 80 degrees. Manual fcus ring (aut zm and aut fcus must be disabled). Built-in micrphne is highly recmmended. Recmmend cameras with a heavy base and flexible neck t allw easier placement. Crd length f 6 feet (2 meters) r mre. We recmmend setting up yur webcam s that yu cannt accidentally discnnect it during the testing sessin. Step 2: Test Yur Equipment We recmmend that yu test yur vide speed and ensure yur micrphne and webcam are wrking tgether. T d this, visit 1. When the page lads, yur cnnectin speed will autmatically be tested. Make sure yur uplad speed is at least 1 MB. If nt, yu may need t take yur exam at a different lcatin. 2. After the speed test is cmplete, view the Camera and Mic Test sectin. In the small bx n yur screen, click the Allw buttn. Click n the Change buttn t select the external webcam. Make sure the webcam prvides an acceptable field f visin fr the prctr. The prctr shuld be able t see yur keybard, muse, hands and face, as well as a minimum view f 12 inches (30 centimeters) n either side f the keybard. 3. T test the audi prtin, talk and watch fr the meter t jump. If the meter jumps slightly, click n the Change buttn and chse the micrphne that jumps the mst. Step 3: Install the Sentinel Secure Sftware The Sentinel Secure sftware creates a secure cnnectin between yu and the prctr during yur exam. This sftware must be installed n yur cmputer prir t yur testing sessin. Fllw the belw instructins t dwnlad the Sentinel Secure sftware. Yu may need the cmputer s administratr lgin and passwrd when installing the Sentinel Secure sftware. Be sure t clse any pen applicatins t ensure a smth installatin. Nte: Yu must register fr an nline prctred exam in advance f cmpleting this step. 1. Lg in t yur test taker accunt at 2. Frm yur Hme page, click Install Sentinel under Step 1.

If nt, dubleclick the Sentinel Secure package frm yur Dwnlads flder. Firefx: Select Save and nce dwnladed, duble-click the setup.exe file. Chrme: Dwnlad setup.exe file Nte: If yu receive an errr message indicating the applicatin cannt be pened because it is frm an unidentified develper, fllw these steps t reslve: G t System Preferences and select Security & Privacy. In the lwer left crner, select the padlck icn t unlck the pane with yur administratr passwrd. Frm the Allw applicatins dwnladed frm sectin, select Anywhere. A pp-up will ccur; select Allw Frm Anywhere. Yu can nw repen the applicatin. 4. Click Run t allw the prgram t make changes t yur cmputer, if applicable t yur Internet brwser. 5. When the Sentinel Secure Setup bx appears, click Cntinue. 6. Accept the terms f the End-User License Agreement and click Cntinue. 7. Select Install fr all users f this cmputer and click Cntinue. 8. Click Install. 9. Enter yur administratr passwrd. 10. Click Clse nce the installatin is cmplete. Nte, the Install Sentinel buttn will remain n yur Webassessr hme page even after it is installed n yur cmputer. This buttn is always available shuld yu uninstall the applicatin and need t reinstall it. Step 4: Create Yur Bimetric Prfile Bimetric identifiers are distinctive, measurable characteristics used t cnfirm that an individual is wh they say they are. Kryterin uses facial recgnitin t authenticate yur identificatin. Please fllw the belw steps t create yur bimetric prfile. 1. Lg in t yur test taker accunt at 2. Frm the Hme page, click Enrll in Bimetrics under Step 2. Fr Chrme nly: if the Sentinel applicatin des nt launch immediately, click n the grey shield icn n the right side f the URL search bar. 3. Frm the Welcme t Kryterin Online Enrllment page, click Cntinue. 4. Read the Terms f Service agreement and, if yu agree, click Yes, I accept. 5. The next page will take yur bimetric pht. When taking yur pht: Lk directly int the camera during the vide capture. Yu shuld see a green bx arund yur face when yu are in the crrect psitin. If yu are ut f psitin r have pr lighting, yu will see a red bx. If yu see a red bx, ensure the fllwing: Yu are in fcus and the lighting isn t t dark r t bright.

When yu see the green bx, the camera will take five pictures in rapid successin. Yu will need t hld perfectly still fr a few secnds, until the page says Online Enrllment Cmpleted. Testing Envirnment Requirements In rder t prvide a secure testing envirnment, yur testing area must meet the fllwing requirements: Sufficient lighting, quiet, and free frm any activity ther than testing. It must als be clutter free and cntain nly the apprved equipment described in this guide. The webcam must prvide a view f the cmputer, keybard, muse, yur hands and full face, and a minimum view f 12 inches (30 centimeters) n either side f the keybard. During yur exam, yu must be in cmpliance with the Certificatin Prgram Agreement and fllw all instructins prvided by the prctr. The fllwing is nt permitted during yur nline prctred exam: Access t persnal belngings, material, r devices is nt permitted. External mnitrs, prjectr screens, r recrding devices are nt permitted in the testing area. N ther individuals are allwed in the testing area. Eating, drinking, and smking are nt permitted. Head phnes r a head piece that blcks any prtin f the face are nt permitted. Leaving the testing area is nt permitted. Discnnecting the camera at any time during the testing sessin is nt permitted. Failure t cmply with the prgram agreement, prctr instructins, r the testing envirnment requirements may result in exam suspensin and/r disciplinary actin. Launching Yur Online Prctred Exam When yur exam is scheduled t begin, yur test taker hme page in Webassessr will update t include a Launch buttn beside yur exam. Befre launching yur exam, yu must have cmpleted all the steps listed abve in the Preparing fr Yur Online Prctred Exam sectin and meet all requirements in the Testing Envirnment Requirements sectin. Failure t meet the requirements may prevent yu frm cmpleting yur exam and yu may be subject t a reschedule r cancellatin fee. All nline prctred exam sessins are recrded. Befre yu start yur exam, please d the fllwing: Eliminate cmputer interruptins: it is required that any sftware r hardware having the capability t interrupt, intercept r therwise interfere with the test delivery is disabled during yur testing sessin. This includes, but is nt limited t:

Cnfirm yur external webcam is cnnected t yur cmputer. D nt allw yur camera t be discnnected at any time during yur testing sessin. Cnfirm yu are nt cnnected t any external mnitrs r devices. Review the test aid icns n the right-hand side f the screen. Be sure yu cmply with the acceptable and unacceptable test aids. Ensure yu meet all requirements utlined in the Testing Envirnment Requirements sectin f this dcument. 7. After yu validate yur webcam, micrphne, and testing envirnment are set up prperly, select the I m ready, start the test! buttn t start. Nte, if yu have printed this dcument fr reference r accessing it frm a different device, please remve it frm the testing area when yu start the exam. 8. During yur exam, if yu are nt meeting the requirements fr nline prctring, the prctr will send yu an alert n the screen. Yu must cmply with all messages prvided by these alerts. If yu d nt cmply with any f the testing requirements, yur exam will be suspended and yu will nt be allwed t cntinue testing. 9. Shuld any issues arise during yur exam, yu can message with Kryterin Technical Supprt within the Sentinel Secure sftware by selecting the Help buttn.
