Rarely d we, as call centers, have such a clear pprtunity t live up t ne f the highest ideals f public service safeguarding ur children. Dear Call Center Leaders: -William Hinkle, NCMEC Call Center Prject Executive Cmmittee Chair There are very few events that have as much emtinal impact n ur cmmunities as when a child has been abducted r sexually explited. The Missing Kids and Readiness Prject is a cllabratin f leading rganizatins addressing this very issue with a variety f training and plicy resurces mst f which are available at n cst. I m asking yu t take advantage f these resurces and make yur call center a partner in ur initiative. By meeting simple criteria, yur agency will be recgnized by the Natinal Center fr Missing & Explited Children (NCMEC) fr adpting best practices. Train Directr/Manager - Cmpletin f Natinal Center fr Missing & Explited Children (NCMEC) training fr call center manager r directr prvided by NCMEC in Alexandria, VA; at natinal cnferences; r within selected states. *** T satisfy this requirement, the call center directr r manager needs t attend ne f the fllwing trainings: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Training Seminar (all Chiefs and Sheriffs are invited t CEO, regardless f invlvement) Time t Act: The Center and Missing Kids Curse 2. Train all frntline telecmmunicatrs - Frmal Training f all telecmmunicatrs in yur center in best practice in the handling f calls fr missing and sexually explited children, as utlined in the ANSI-apprved Standard. *** T satisfy this requirement, all telecmmunicatrs shuld either be trained: by classrm instructin, led by call center trainer wh has attended the Train-the-Trainer curse - Or - by cmpleting free, nline training Telecmmunicatins Best Practices fr Missing and Abducted Children 3. Adpt the ANSI standard - Frmal adptin f the ANSI-apprved Standard fr Public-Safety Telecmmunicatrs when Respnding t Calls f Missing, Abducted, and Sexually Explited Children (ANS ) Use what yu have learned thrugh the training t incrprate the ANSI-standard int yur existing plicies and prcedures. 4. Quality Assurance Prcess - Implementatin f a frmal, measurable, quality-assurance prcess fr all calls invlving missing and sexually explited children As with all steps f the prcess t becme a partner, this implementatin f a quality-assurance prcess is specific t yur agency. The way that yu incrprate the ANSI-standard int yur existing prtcl will determine the quality-assurance prcess used. This step f the partner prcess is t ensure that yur agency has implemented the ANSI-standard int yur agency s daily prcesses in a meaningful way.
