1 BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE SPECIAL SERVICES SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY OF THE COUNTY OF BURLINGTON REGULAR MEETING The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of the Special Services School District and The Institute of Technology of The County of Burlington was held on Thursday evening, January 30, 2014, at the Rutgers Media Center, 2 Academy Dr., Westampton, NJ. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by President Robert Silcox, followed by the flag salute. Theresa Margiotta, Board Secretary-BCSSSD/BCIT, stated that this meeting was in accordance with the Open Public Meeting Act and that this was a public meeting. 2 Public Comments - Superintendent Agenda Only: Superintendent Report: Christopher M. Manno, Ed.D., Superintendent, presented and recommended approval of the report. Explained item: IV.1.C.: YMCA, providing services March -June. On a motion by Paula Lee and seconded by Kathleen Burgess the Board approved the report. Helen Shears, BCSSSD: shared pictures of the seniors Field Trip to Wegmans, and the HS Art Class to Philadelphia Museum of Art where an Art Professor demonstrated/instructed them on using Primary Colors. Board Remarks: Dr. Christopher Manno: It has been an honor and a privilege to have met students and staff while touring the buildings, and to have seen such caring staff members. Monthly Achievement Reports will be posted on our websites monthly. Both district initiated a Security Audit. It was a pleasure to attend the Special Olympics Bowling at Laurel Lanes. Leon Jones: Thanked everyone for coming out and welcomed Chris Manno. Kathleen Burgess: Thanked everyone for all they do for the students. Paula Lee: Welcomed Chris Manno and thanked him for keeping them informed with the Weekly Reports. John Ferry: Welcome aboard Chris Manno. Christopher Baxter: Welcome Chris Manno, you have our support. Marie Goodwin: Enjoyed her first Board meeting and stated the Board was in good hands with Christopher Manno. President Silcox: Welcome Chris Manno, congratulations and we re looking forward to a good year. Adjournment Since there was no further business, Mr. Silcox asked for a motion to adjourn.
