1 The Adena Local Board of Education met in a rescheduled regular session on August 13, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in the Library-Media Center with the following members responding to roll call: Mrs. Michelle Bowdle, Mr. Joseph Glandon, Mr. James Hester, Mr. Michael Kinnamon and Mr. James Lowe. (13-169) FINANCIAL REPORT Moved by Mr. Glandon, seconded by Mr. Lowe, that the financial report be accepted and approved. (13-170) CERTIFICATES/PERMANENT & TEMPORARY APPROPRIATIONS Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Hester, to approve the Amended Certificates for June, 2013 and July, 2013 and the Permanent Appropriation and Temporary Appropriation Resolutions as presented. 2 (13-174) SURPLUS EQUIPMENT Moved by Mr. Glandon, seconded by Mr. Lowe, to declare the following items surplus equipment and bring proposals for discarding these items to the Board: 2 - Minuteman Scrubbing Machines 1 - Riding Scrubber 3 - Minuteman Scrubbers (13-175) NON PUBLIC STUDENT TRANSPORTATION RESOLUTION Moved by Mr. Glandon, seconded by Mr. Lowe, to approve the following resolution: WHEREAS, The Adena Local Board of Education realizes it must provide transportation for resident students to attend a non-public school; WHEREAS, The Adena Local Board of Education realizes it is impractical to transport to the Ross County Christian Academy; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Adena Local Board of Education will reimburse the parents of students attending the Ross County Christian Academy the amount determined by the Ohio Department of Education in lieu of transportation. (13-177) PROPERTY AND FLEET INSURANCE Moved by Mr. Hester, seconded by Mr. Lowe, to accept the proposal from the Neil Coleman Agency for the Property and Fleet Insurance for $28, (13-178) TUITION RATE Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Glandon, to accept the Tuition Rate as set by the State Department of Education as $2, (13-179) STUDENT HANDBOOKS Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Glandon, to approve the student handbooks with changes as presented.

And approve the following volunteers for the school year: Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach - Cadie Cory Volunteer Assistant Volleyball Coach - Tiffany Dailey Volunteer Assistant Football Coach - Chris Skaggs Volunteer Assistant Football Coach - Jerry Smith. (13-181) SUPPLEMENTAL MARCHING BAND AUXILIARY ADVISOR Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Glandon, to grant one year limited supplemental contract to Leslie Burns as the Marching Band Auxiliary Advisor for the school year. (13-182) LATCHKEY RESIGNATION Moved by Mr. Glandon, seconded by Mr. Lowe, to accept the resignation from Teresa Chaney as the Latchkey Instructor. (13-183) STUDENT AIDE (AS NEEDED BASIS) Moved by Mr. Glandon, seconded by Mr. Lowe, to grant a one year limited classified contract to Teresa Chaney as a Student Aide on an as needed basis for the school year. (13-184) EMPLOYMENT TITLE I TEACHER Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Hester, to grant a one year limited teacher contract to Alena Smith as a Title I Teacher for the school year. (13-185) EMPLOYMENT PART TIME INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE Moved by Mr. Lowe, seconded by Mr. Glandon, to grant a one year limited classified contract to Kimberly Persinger as a Part Time Instructional Aide for the school year.
