1 OFFICIAL MINUTES MARLBORO CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION 1510 RT. 9W-SUITE 201 MARLBORO, NY A workshop meeting of the Board of Education of the Marlboro Central School District was held in the cafeteria of the Marlboro Intermediate School on Thursday, July 8, Mrs. Lostaglio, Vice-President of the Board, presided. The session was called to order at 8:30 p.m. Mr. James Sullivan led the assembly in the pledge to the flag. BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Stephen Jennison, Pres. Mrs. MaryAnne Lostaglio, Vice-Pres. 2 ORDER OF BUSINESS Mr. Jennison, President of the Board of Education, opened the meeting. Mr. Castellani gave an update on the status of the Milton Elem. School. The District is hopeful that the school will open in September of Mr. Castellani reviewed the action taken after the exec. Session of June 17, RESOLUTION # COLLINS-JUDSON It was moved by Mr. Flynn and seconded by Mrs. Lostaglio that ROSEANNE the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent SEC. of Schools, ratifies the appointment of RoseAnne Collins-Judon who PRINCIPAL holds permanent certification in the School Administrator/Supervisor H.S. tenure area to the position of Secondary Principal for a probationary PROB. period commencing July 2, 2010 and ending July 1, The salary APPT. for the school year will be $135, (to replace Rosanne Messina). RESOLUTION # It was moved by Mr. Brooks and seconded by Mr. Flynn that the Board of Education enters into executive session to discuss the medical, financial, credit or employment of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation at 8:55 p.m. RESOLUTION # It was moved by Mr. Flynn and seconded by Mrs. Lostaglio that the Board of Education returns to regular session at 9:41 p.m. EXEC. SESS. REG. SESS. RESOLUTION # SICKLER It was moved by Mr. Tamburri and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the Board TORCHIA of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, ALLEN authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to sign the agreement & between Sickler, Torchia, Allen & Churchill, 4071 Route 9, Stop 1, Hudson, CHURC- NY and the Marlboro Central School District for auditing services for HILL the year ended June 30, 2011 at an hourly rate of $ (Basic Risk AUDIT Assessment-Estimated hours of $4,000-$8,000 and Enhanced Risk SERVICES Assessment-Estimated hours or $6,000-$12,000) (prior year rate Basic-Flat Rate of $4,300 for 35 hours and Enhanced at a rate of $ per staff day or 90 hours at $11,540). 2

3 RESOLUTION # CHEFS It was moved by Mr. Tamburri and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the Board DEPOT of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools PHASE 3 authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to sign the contract between ALTER. Chefs Depot, Inc., 2 Melnick Drive, Monsey, NY and the Marlboro Central School District on the Marlboro High School Phase 3 Alterations in the amount of $241, RESOLUTION # O HERRON It was moved by Mr. Tamburri and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the Board MARY of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools BETH authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to sign the consultant agreement PHYSICAL with Mary Beth O Herron, 77 Frozen Ridge Road, Newburgh, NY THERAPIST as Physical Therapist, and the Marlboro Central School District for the CONTRACT school year at the hourly rate of $ RESOLUTION # ADVANCED It was moved by Mr. Tamburri and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the Board THERAPY of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, CONTRACT authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to sign the consultant OCC. agreement between Advanced Therapy, One Rapp Road, Albany, NY THERAPY and the Marlboro Central School District for occupational therapy at the hourly rate of $55.00 not to exceed $4, for the period of July 1, 2010-June 24, RESOLUTION # VANACORE It was moved by Mr. Tamburri and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the DEBENEDICTUS of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of DIGOVANNI Schools to authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to sign the & WEDDEL, agreement between Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni & Weddel, LLP LLP, 11 Racquet Road, P. O. Box 10009, Newburgh, NY and the Marlboro Central School District for auditing services for the year ended June 30, 2011 at an hourly rate of $85.00 (prior year hourly rate of $

4 RESOLUTION # WOLFERT It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the Board CHELSEA of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, LUNCH ratifies the resignation of Chelsea Wolfert, Lunch/Recess Aide, Marlboro RECESS Central School District, effective June 30, 2010 (for personal reasons). AIDE RESIGNAT. RESOLUTION # DIULIO It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the Board LARRY of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, SOC. ST. accepts the resignation of Larry Diulio, Social Studies 9-12 Chair for the DEPT school year (for personal reasons). CHAIR RESIGNAT. RESOLUTION # It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, ratifies the resignation of Jennifer Vogel-Rossi, Computer Aide, Marlboro Central School District, effective June 30, 2010 (for personal reasons). RESOLUTION # It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, accepts the resignation of Diane Crudele, Elem. Teacher, Marlboro Central School District, with regret, effective July 1, 2010 (for retirement purposes) and to issue her a gold card. ROSSI JENNIFER COMPUTER AIDE RESIGNAT. CRUDELE DIANE ELEM. K-5 K-5, Marlboro Central School District, school year. RESIGNAT. RESOLUTION # SMITH It was moved by Mr. Sullivan and seconded by Mr. Cavazza that the JANICE Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of SPEC. ED. Schools, approves the child care leave request of Janice Smith, Special TEACHER Education Teacher, Marlboro Central School District, for the CHILD CARE. school year. LEAVE REQ

5 RESOLUTION # WATROUS It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the JANET Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of PUPIL Schools, authorizes the appointment of Janet Watrous to the position of PERSONNEL Pupil Personnel Clerical Support for the school year, Marlboro SERVICES Central School District, at a stipend of $2, CLERICAL SUPPORT RESOLUTION # BACH It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the MAGGIE Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of REGISTRAR Schools, authorizes the appointment of Maggie Bach to the position of CLERICAL District Registrar Clerical Support for the school year, Marlboro SUPPORT Central School District, at a stipend of $2, RESOLUTION # LONG It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the TANYA Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of MUSICAL Schools, authorizes the appointment of Tanya Long to the position of ADVISOR Musical Advisor for the school year, Marlboro Central Central School District, at a stipend of $1, RESOLUTION # LONG It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the TANYA Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of STAGE Schools, authorizes the appointment of Tanya Long to the position of TECH Stage Tech Advisor for the school year, Marlboro Central ADVISOR School District, at a stipend of $1, RESOLUTION # JOHANSSON It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the SUSAN Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of SCHOOL Schools, authorizes the appointment of Susan Johansson to the position of PSYCH. Temporary School Psychologist for the purpose of Triennial Reviews for SUPPORT special needs students to be funded through the Section 611 ARRA TEMPORARY Grant for the grant period of July 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011, at t The hourly rate commensurate with MA30 Step 1 of the Marlboro Faculty Contract. 5

6 RESOLUTION # SUBSTITUTES It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves the presented list of substitutes to the appropriate District substitute list for the school year. All appointments Are subject to fingerprint clearance from the New York State Education Dept. Compensation to be consistent with the substitute rate of pay schedule. RESOLUTION # VANCUYCK It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the RAY Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of STIP. OF Schools, authorizes the appointment of Ray VanCuyck to the position AGREEMENT Of Administrative Assistant to the Pupil Personnel services Director P.P.S. SUPPORT Effective July 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 at the rate of 7/1/2010 TO $ per day not to exceed $12, as per the stipulation of 12/31/2010 agreement. Vote by Roll Call: Mr. Flynn, no Carried (6-1) All others, yes RESOLUTION # NON-UNIT It was moved by Mrs. Lostaglio and seconded by Mr. Sullivan that the SALARIES Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of STIPENDS Schools, approves the non-unit salaries/stipends for the school year as presented. RESOLUTION # BUDGET It was moved by Mr. Cavazza and seconded by Mr. Flynn that the TRANSFER Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of CONST. Schools, authorizes the transfer of $160, to cover construction MANAGER expenses, an ordinary contingent expense as follows: H.S.-PH.3 FROM: H Administration Costs H.S. Phase II - $160, TO: H Construction Manager H.S. Phase III - $160, RESOLUTION # BUDGET It was moved by Mr. Cavazza and seconded by Mr. Flynn that the TRANSFER Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent YR.
