Monday Friday during normal business hours. There may be occasions when the post holder is required to work on evenings and weekends so some flexibility is required. Head of Marketing and Communications No line management responsibility Professional Services Job Purpose To produce creative and innovative communications for Morley College London audiences, including developing and delivering digital marketing campaigns for the College and its work. To manage and develop Morley s online and digital communications, maintain a consistent brand identity and to provide analysis of digital marketing performance, in order to support business objectives. Key result areas 1. Support the delivery of marketing strategy with responsibility for delivery of PR activity, production of promotional materials in line with brand guidelines and day to day management of direct media partnerships and paid activity. 2. Support the delivery of external communications strategy monitoring overall marketing performance against agreed metric. 3. Ensure effective internal communication across the College to support its activities.
2 Working with The post holder will develop productive working relationships with college stakeholders including key external partners, the general public and students, and staff from all sections of the college including senior managers as appropriate. The post holder will be supported in communications initiatives working closely with the following team members: Head of Marketing and Communications Marketing and Communications Officer Digital Marketing and Communications Officer Events and Alumni Development Officer Sales and Marketing Assistant They will also work closely with other key stakeholders across Morley College to deliver effective marketing communications. Main activities 1. Work with Head of Marketing and Communications to support creation of College s marketing strategy. 2. Support development of marketing performance reporting to allow marketing team to optimise marketing activity on an on-going basis. 3. Create and deliver PR plan to support Morley College s student recruitment and brand reputation objectives. 4. Work closely with Head of Marketing and Communications to support development of a content marketing strategy. 5. Proactively engage with key internal stakeholders at Morley College to develop PR ideas for both online and traditional media on an on-going basis to drive course sales. 6. Create press releases and manage relationships with traditional media contacts and online influencers to maximise school brand visibility. 7. Manage the process of developing promotional materials to support course sales activity, event promotion and alumni relations. 8. Support delivery of brand identity across communication channels and assisting in brand development activities. 9. Project manage project promotional material creation working with external print and design suppliers. 10. Work with external agencies to deliver paid marketing activities. 11. Support delivery and development of media partnerships with external suppliers including course listing sites. 12. Provide competitor benchmarking reporting and undertake market research activities as required.

4 Person Specification: PR and Marketing Officer Essential 1. A relevant marketing qualification Desirable 2. Sound knowledge of marketing communications generally with an expertise in PR and content marketing, plus an appreciation of online marketing techniques 3. Excellent supplier management skills with experience of managing creative, print and media suppliers 4. Strong copywriting skills with knowledge of delivering content for both online and traditional media and excellent proofreading and editing skills 5. Knowledge of marketing performance monitoring technology and experience of creating reports to monitor success of activity 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 7. Sound IT skills including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and a basic understanding of PowerPoint 8. Excellent time management and project management skills 9. An understanding of equality and diversity issues and a commitment to working within and furthering the college s policies in this regard 10. Experience of managing budgets working with external suppliers to deliver cost effective solutions 11. Experience of managing paid traditional marketing and media partnerships 12. Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite software including Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator 13. Knowledge of managing video production and commissioning photography for promotional purposes 14. Experience of marketing and public relations within a business to consumer context 15. Knowledge of the FE sector or the education sector generally Main Conditions of Service 1. You will be employed by Morley College Limited. 2. The PR and Marketing Officer will be appointed to APT&C spine points 28 to 31, currently 28,472 31,188 including London Weighting Allowance per annum. Applicants will usually be appointed at the bottom of the salary scale. 3. Normal working hours are 36 per week, Monday to Friday which may include some evening work. The successful applicant may be required to work at weekends to
5 accommodate specific College activities. No payment for overtime is made, but appropriate time-off in lieu will be granted. 4. The annual leave entitlement is 30 days per annum, excluding public holidays and additional closure days. 5. The post is pensionable under the Local Government Pension Scheme, administered by the London Pensions Fund Authority. 6. There is a 6-month probationary period. 7. The College does not recognise service with any previous employer for calculating continuous service for the purposes of the Employment Rights Act Any previous continuous local government service however, may be counted as part of continuous employment with the Company for redundancy pay purposes. 8.
