3 Planning Spice Route is proud of its unique facilities, excellent service and exquisite cuisine. From the planning process through to the event finale, our staff of experienced professionals will ensure that every detail is considered with great care and attention to make your event a success. The following information is provided to assist you in the planning process. We offer two private dining rooms, The Karma Room and The Buddha Room. The Karma Room provides a formal dining atmosphere with board room style seating for up to 22 guests and is located at the highest point of the restaurant off of our mezzanine level. Within the space, guests are able to overlook Spice Route s main dining area while still having the luxury of a secluded and intimate surrounding. The Karma Room is also equipped with full audio visual capabilities, including a plasma television, ideal for both personal and business dinners. The Buddha Room is a semi-private booth area located in an alcove where guests are able to enjoy a discrete and lounge like atmosphere on couch seating. While dining in the room guests can take pleasure in the red velvet banquettes, stunning glass table adorned with rose petals and the view of Spice Route s main space through beaded curtains. The Buddha Room, which can accommodate up to 22 guests offers a pleasurable yet casual dining experience, the perfect compliment to Spice Route s sharing menu. MENU SELECTIONS Please find enclosed a selection of group menus that we ve designed specifically for larger parties. We provide a family style of service, meaning that plates are shared between every 4-6 people. Because of this style of service, dishes are brought to the table in waves throughout the meal for the entire party to enjoy and the number of orders per item served will vary depending on the number of guests in your party. These menus have been specifically designed to provide a nice balance of meat, fish and vegetarian items to ensure that you and your guests experience the absolute best variety of what Spice Route has to offer. It is much easier and highly recommended for larger dinner parties to pre-arrange a menu. You are also welcome to order off of our regular menu or pre-choose items you may wish to include from our a la carte menu. Please note that custom menus are available and that pricing would change depending on your specific requests. Also note that our menus are subject to change.

4 Executive Chef Sam Chao Executive Chef Spice Route Sam Chao learned an appreciation for food at an early age, having watched his father and uncle in their fast food establishment at the First Canadian Centre, examining the logistics of open flame and wok for the first time in his life. After graduating from Stratford Chef s School, Chef Chao began working at many world class restaurants across Toronto ranging in cuisines from Italian to Mediterranean to Asian cuisine. Under the mentorship of these top chefs, Chef Chao became a major contender in the Toronto culinary scene and joined the Liberty Group to open Spice Route Asian Bistro and Bar. Throughout his career at Spice Route, Chef Chao has showcased his culinary artistry at many high profile events including the Toronto International Film Festival, cooking for the likes of A-list celebrities Brad Pitt and Mark Rufalo and impressive dinners and events attended by distinguished clientele. He has also generously given his time to support a number of charitable events such as Feast of Fields and Taste of Toronto. On a personal level, he has participated in events in support of women with breast cancer, after a family member s diagnosis. Having been part of opening Spice Route and throughout his tenure there, Chef Chao has been a key influencer in the menu design and kitchen operations. Chef Chao has been instrumental at Spice Route and continues to be a driving force behind its success as Executive Chef.
