1 Instructins fr Cmpleting the Fall 2014-Spring 2015 Applicatin fr Admissin 1. Please type r print all entries made n the applicatin. Remember t sign the applicatin. Incmplete applicatins cannt be cnsidered. Please read all f the instructins carefully befre cmpleting yur applicatin. 2. The applicatin is divided int three sectins: Demgraphic and Academic Infrmatin Residency Infrmatin Applicatin Essay 3. Yur Scial Security number is required fr admissin; hwever, it will nt be used fr rutine identificatin r authenticatin purpses. Each student receives a university identificatin (UID) number as part f his/her initial enrllment. 4. An applicatin fee f $65 must accmpany this applicatin. This fee is nt refundable. Applicatins that arrive withut the fee will nt be prcessed until the IAA receives the applicatin fee. The applicatin fee will serve as yur matriculatin fee prvided yu enrll fr the term applied fr n this applicatin. Applicants seeking admissin wh were previusly apprved fr admissin but did nt matriculate must file a new applicatin with the required applicatin fee. Students previusly enrlled in the Institute wh are seeking readmissin r reinstatement are nt required t pay the applicatin fee. 5. Payment shuld be made by check r mney rder payable t the University f Maryland. Include the applicant s name and scial security number n the frnt f the check r mney rder. PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH OR STAMPS. 6. Cllege Frward Students If this is yur first time applying t the IAA r the University f Maryland Cllege Park, fllw the applicatin instructins and cmplete the entire applicatin and essay. Cllege Frward applicants wh have previusly applied t the University f Maryland and are applying t the IAA fr the same term and have already paid the UMD applicatin fee, d nt need t pay the fee again. Cmplete the first page f the applicatin and write an essay addressing Prmpt #1. 7. Applicants must request that fficial transcripts and test scres (SAT r ACT) be sent t the IAA ffice. The IAA requires an fficial cpy f yur secndary schl transcripts, GED scre, r an fficial cpy f cllege transcript frm the mst recent cllege attended. Students applying fr selected curses thrugh the IAA s cntinuing educatin prgram are nt required t send fficial transcripts, but must prvide dcumentatin f high schl graduatin r GED. 8. Transfer Students Yu shuld request yur mst recent cllege t send cmplete fficial transcripts t the Directr, Institute f Applied Agriculture, University f Maryland, Cllege Park, MD Students transferring frm the fur-year prgram at the University f Maryland Cllege Park, may have unfficial transcripts sent t the IAA. (Nte: If yu will be requesting transfer credit, the IAA needs fficial transcripts frm all institutins attended.)
