1 APPLICATION The Dris Duke Cnservatin Schlars prgram at Nrthern Arizna University is a multi-year prgram funded by the Dris Duke Charitable Fundatin that serves t strengthen the cnservatin prfessin by training students wh can make significant cntributins t cnservatin and increase participatin by grups that are currently underrepresented the field. The prgram creates pprtunities fr undergraduate students t participate in mentred research experiences in cnservatin bilgy and ther disciplines relevant t land, water, and wildlife cnservatin. The DDCSP@NAU prgram includes fur essential elements: A five-week summer immersin prgram in the Grand Canyn regin that prvides expsure t authentic, cmpelling envirnmental issues and builds cmmunity amng the students. Paid annual research internship experiences with cnservatin scientists and managers wh are enthusiastic abut their wrk and abut mentring yung peple. Winter cnservatin wrkshps n scientific, career, and leadership tpics. A strng supprt netwrk that will help students transitin frm cllege t career.
