3 I. ANNOUNCING!! CARNAVAL LATINO XV COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND OCTOBER 9-11, 2015 We are proud to announce the sixteenth edition of Carnaval Latino 2015 will be held on October 9-11, A celebration of the extraordinary Latin Music and our city s Hispanic heritage and culture. Carnaval Latino s XVI will be held in the Downtown and French Quarter areas, the historic and vibrant heart of the City of New Orleans. We are proud to celebrate the closing of Hispanic Heritage Month in the most Hispanic neighborhood of our country, rebuilt from the ashes of two great fires by the Spanish Governors of Louisiana in the late 1788"s. Festival goers will enjoy some of the best in Latin music, art, food and drink, surrounded by the architectural beauty of the most exiting neighborhood of the most memorable city in this country! Launching the festivities will be the Desfile of the Americas Parade. We invite you to be a part of this amazing experience. Carnaval is also adding a series of week-day events, such as leadership conferences, empowerment seminars and business development components, to the great entertainment offered. We are also planning to incorporate other Hispanic artistry such as painting, sculpture, performance and culinary arts.

4 A portion of the proceeds is dedicated to the Hispanic-America Musician s and Artist s Cultural Association, Inc. ( HAMACA ), a 501 (c) 3 entity dedicated to fostering the arts and those who give it life. BE IN THAT NUMBER!! EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: DATES: Columbus Day Weekend October 9th and 11th, LOCATION: Downtown and the French Quarter HOURS OF EVENT: Friday, October 9 th - Saturday, October 10 th - 2 p.m. to Midnight Sunday, October 11 th - 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. ADMISSION PRICES: FREE Admission III. DESCRIPTION OF EVENTS: Parade, Music and Dance -Saturday and Sunday, October 10 th and 11 th, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A weekend of fun presented by H.A.M.A.C.A., beginning with the Parade of the Americas the weekend festivities will feature music and dance, spanning world genres such as Salsa, Merengue, Latin Jazz, Bachata, Latin Hip-Hop Reggeaton and Latin Rock and Local New Orleans bands with a Latin tinge. "El Mercado": "The Market" is a special Arts and Crafts and business opportunity trade center, with attractions such as cigar rolling sites, espresso coffee, original jewelry, piñatas and much more. Reservations are now being taken for food vendor booths. The festival is seeking a wide variety of representative cuisines from the Americas and the motherlands. For more information please call Paolo Lossi at (504) or Ivelis de Leon (504) Media: An outreach to print and broadcast media outlets throughout the southeast, southwest, Mexico and Central America will be launched September 10, 2015 taking advantage of Carnaval Latino, LLC s partnerships with Television, Radio and Internet distributors. IV. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: As the City of New Orleans and the Gulf South region struggles to regain the international recognition as the most Caribbean of American, Carnaval Latino draws on those artists who have shaped our music and culture for hundreds of years to assist in this effort. This artistic redevelopment is a critical and vital step into the future of what will continue to be an eclectic and diverse community. The New Orleans area continues to evolve with the Hispanic community almost doubling in size from its pre-katrina levels. Through its determined work ethic, this expanding demographic has enhanced the city s potential for success.

7 The vigorous tourism industry that drives the New Orleans region, demands an event that will focus the eyes of the State, the Nation, and the World on how Hispanics have contributed to the history and are helping shape the future of New Orleans. Carnaval Latino makes it possible for the local and regional Hispanic community to participate in and celebrate its heritage and culture. Our primary goals and objectives are: 1. To provide a positive economic impact for the State of Louisiana and the City of New Orleans through a festival conceived, planned and produced by the local Hispanic Community for the benefit and enjoyment of its friends and neighbors. 2. To support Hispanic artists and musicians whose contributions to the culture and heritage of the New Orleans Area are vital to its cultural diversity. 3. To generate tourist attendance at Carnaval Latino events through the promotion of destination tourism and target marketing of audiences drawn to the Latino experience throughout the southeast, southwest, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central/South America, creating another must attend event for our City. 4. To increase understanding through educational forays into in the Latin culture and heritage, by presenting the highest caliber of artists, musicians and other performers during Carnaval Latino events. 5. To install a sense of pride and accomplishment in the Hispanic community. 6. The Gulf South s largest and most colorful Columbus Day Parade. TO REMIND US THAT WE ARE ONE!

El Quetzal de Bronze Level Consulate National Organization-$2, Thirty (30) person float Kern Productions (including insurance, float, tractor and driver): for Consulates, established national clubs, visiting cities and nonprofit organizations special opportunities. Floats may be customized and additional throws can be secured through the Planning Committee for an additional cost. Planning Committee. Each and every organization s float is encouraged to provide its own, distinctive throws for the parade. In order to enhance the pageantry of the event and distinguish it from others local parades, as it is the only one in New Orleans which specially celebrates all aspects of our Hispanic Heritage, we encourage each float to feature music and costumes from the participating country (sound system arrangements can be secured through the Planning Committee). One of the most colorful and memorable parts of the parade in years past have been the dance and musical groups representing different countries participating in the parade. We are also looking for local schools who have marching bands, especially those with high Hispanic enrollments, which may be interested in participating please contact us the committee at Got a good idea?
