1 May, 2014 Dear Community Partner, The Orange County Children s Therapeutic ARTS Center (OCCTAC) cordially invites you to attend and participate as a sponsor of our Harp Traditions of Latin America Festival from June 25 through June 28, 2014 in Santa Ana, CA. Our Festival events include: June Three days of music workshops in Paraguayan Harp, Jarocho Harp from Veracruz, Mexico, and Llanero Harp from Colombia led by a maestro representative of each tradition. A Community Reception & Cultural Exchange Roundtable with the Maestros at the Mexican Consulate at 7:30pm Saturday, June 28 The Concert of the Maestros highlighting their individual harp tradition as well as a group performance with workshop participants on Saturday, June 28 at Phillips Hall, Santa Ana College at 7:00pm. OCCTAC Arts Center is a Santa Ana, CA based non-profit (501c3), organization dedicated to artistic training and educational programs that support and empower underserved communities. We offer a wide variety of music, art, and dance classes to children and youth of limited resources, as well as support services for the entire family with the goal of empowering disadvantaged communities building confidence, self-esteem, and love for the arts. Most recently, OCCTAC was awarded a prestigious National Endowment for the Arts Challenge America Grant for $10,000 to assist with the underwriting costs of this one-of-a-kind event. However, we need your help to successfully host this event, and also support OCCTAC s mission in the community. Transportation for the Maestros and ensemble musicians and their instruments alone are near $10,000; OCCTAC is seeking funding to assist with other costs of hosting this event including lodging, transportation and food for our guest musicians, as well as materials for event promotion and music workshops.
