OCTOBER 15 & 22 OR NOVEMBER 5 & 12 OR DECEMBER 3 & 10 Cost: $10 Location: Preschool Room Students can build their own designs from their imagination maybe a creative creature, maybe a marvelous machine. The possibilities are endless! Students creations will be displayed at the end of the 2-week session. Enrollment limit: 15 VIDEO GAME DESIGN GRADES 4 5 MONDAYS OCTOBER 20, 27; NOVEMBER 3 & 10 3:50 5:30 pm Cost: $105 Location: Computer Lab Do you love playing video games? Now you can build your own! Game Crazy will teach you all aspects of video game design, from game ideation to storyboarding to the iterative development process of prototyping and testing. At the end of the four week class, you ll be able to take your video game home! Dismissal time for this class only: 5:30 pm ADVENTURES IN ANIMATION GRADES 3 5 MONDAYS OCTOBER 20; NOVEMBER 3, 10, 17 Cost: $48 Students will work together collaboratively to create an animated film. Mr. Fink will teach them the conceptual and mechanical skills of animation while the teams develop a story and create the animation. Audio/visual components such as transitions, credits and sound editing will be introduced. Students will learn the mechanics of simple animation, cell animation, stop motion animation and claymation. Enrollment limit: 12 BONKERS FOR BLOOD WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 22 Cost: $16 Another in the monthly Science series from HighTouch/ High Tech, you ll discover your blood type in this class. HALLOWEEN CARTOONING GRADES 1 5 TUESDAY OCTOBER 28 3:50 5:20 pm Cost: $15 Location: Media Center Learn to draw ghosts, ghouls, monsters and other cartoon creatures! Neal Levin will teach you how through simple instructions and games. Fee includes all materials, including sample cartoons to take home to continue the cartooning fun. Dismissal time for this class only: 5:20 pm CHESS WIZARDS GRADES 1 5 THURSDAYS OCTOBER 30; NOVEMBER 6 & 13; DECEMBER 4, 11 & 18 Cost: $102 Location: Media Center Whether you re just learning the game or already consider yourself a chess master, this is the class for you! Each student is challenged by fun games and lessons from real Wizard teachers. Chess enhances cognitive development in children, improves both verbal and mathematical skills, and increases all levels of academic performance. GIRLS BASKETBALL GRADES 3 5 TUESDAYS NOVEMBER 11, 18 & 25; DECEMBER 2 Cost: $20 Location: Gym Whether you are already a sharpshooter, or just learning to dribble, come join this fun class. You ll learn all the fundamentals of the game, including dribbling, passing, shooting and defending. SOUNDS LIKE FUN WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 12 Cost: $16 Learn all about the different types of sounds. GameCrazy uses this fun computer game to teach about History, Geography and Architecture. You ll travel to historical lands where you ll interact with historical characters who will send you on quests to learn about the culture of those lands. Dismissal time for this class only: 5:30 pm PAINTING FOR FUN GRADES 2 3 MONDAYS DECEMBER 1 & 8 Cost: $24 Love to paint? Then this is the class for you! Mr. Fink will share his painting expertise with you as you unleash your creativity. You ll learn exciting tricks and techniques, and go home after two weeks with a painted masterpiece! Enrollment limit: 12 CHEM FUN WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 10 Cost: $16 In this class, you ll find out how much fun chemistry can be! Explore chromatography as you watch colors separate before your very eyes. With the exception of one day classes, all class refunds are the amount of the tuition less a $10 processing fee per class. The processing fee for one-day classes is $5.00. The cost of materials cannot be refunded.
