Norgate Community School received its official designation as a Community School in The Community School Office organizes and sponsors many Before and After School programs and community events. Other supports include our partnerships and grants from the North Vancouver RecCommission, the District of North Vancouver, North Shore Neighbourhood House and North Shore Community Resources Society. What do we do? What is a Community School? A Community School is a hub of activity and services. The building is open and accessible beyond regular public school hours and operates as the community centre. Community schools foster lifelong learning, recreational and social opportunities and are part of the Association of Community Education in B.C.'s network. We share our space with our partners North Shore Neighbourhood House which runs daycare options for your children and STRONG START: North Vancouver District drop-in program for pre-school aged children and their parents or care-givers. Besides options for children, we offer programs for seniors and adults in our building. We are always looking for ways to serve our community. Contact us anytime. Program Cost Information : We try to give our students the best experiences at the lowest cost. Fees only cover supply and instructor costs - that s why they re so low. It averages out to $4 for 1 hour.. Subsidies are available for families with the understanding that there is a commitment to attend all the classes. And all classes include a snack for the students! Course Registration Fine Print Registering for courses and programs is on a first come basis, in person or by mail. Expressions of interest via phone and are noted but not considered complete registrations until payment in full by cash or cheque is made. Arrangements may be made by request for those unable to pay full course fees. To withdraw from a course a doctor's note will allow for a pro-rated refund if into the session. Please register for classes a week before the course is scheduled to begin, instructors may cancel their classes if there is insufficient registration. We reserve the right to cancel courses and will notify you if this occurs. Course Receipts Receipts are given for every paid registration for income tax purposes. Please pick them up from the Community Office. Call Fran at the Community Office anytime for information at

We gratefully acknowledge the support of the District of North Vancouver through their Community Grants Programs for helping us fund our summer programs and the North Shore Community Resource Society "School's Out" funding for subdizing many of our Before and After School Programs. We also want to thank the sponsors of our Breakfast program - the Tzu Chi Foundation. We are most grateful for the support of the North Shore Host Lions Club, who has been helping us say yes to any child who wants to participate in any of our programs. Vancouver Coastal Health helps us keep in shape by sponsoring our community night Pickleball for families, healthy fun and it's free! They have supported us in the past with yoga for moms and helped us start our garden! We also thank VanCity for their grant last year that help send our kids out on the water to explore Indian Arm with our First Nations Teachers. Each organization that has and is supporting our school, leaves a lasting legacy. The experiences we create for the children and youth in our care today will affect them as citizens in the future. Thank you all.
