COURSE DESCRIPTION This program is designed for specialty physicians, surgeons, advanced practice nurses, and nurses with prior ECMO management experience. Exponential growth of ECMO utilization and new techniques and equipment means there is a huge need for more training in the technical aspects of ECMO management for the front line clinicians. With proper simulationbased training, participants could improve patient outcomes. LEARNING OBJECTIVES As a result of participating in this activity, clinicians will understand and learn the simulation-based educational approaches to enhance traditional educational curriculum. Aside from reviewing ECMO simulation education, the participants will learn adult learning theory and crisis resource management. They will be instructed on how to develop, implement and integrate simulation education at their institutions. Attendees will participate in a combination of lecture, hands on simulation, debriefing sessions and mini group sessions. They will also have on-site simulation educators to provide expert resourcing on the topics of debriefing and scenario development.
