Job Purpose To support the implementation of the Sport Hampshire & IOW Strategy, our business plan, core services and programmes. Accountabilities The post holder will be expected to follow and promote the core values of the organisation; Innovative Respectful Committed Collaborative Purposeful Strategic Planning To support the Strategic Lead for PE & School Sport and other staff to create a robust support network for schools around the PE and School Sport Premium throughout the county, in line with the CSP s Sport England delivery plan. Communication To maintain, update and review the use of information for schools around PE and Sport that is available on the CSP website and other online and printed media, including a termly newsletter and monthly update for schools. To promote, coordinate and administer CPD opportunities offered by the CSP linked to PE & School Sport. To update and maintain a database of schools contacts for PE & School Sport. To communicate both verbally (including presentations) and in writing (including reports and articles) to teachers, governors, schools games organisers and voluntary organisations such as sports clubs.
Budget To manage any delegated budgetary responsibilities for specific projects / schemes within the department as directed by your line manager. Project Management To support the Strategic Lead for PE & School Sport and other staff to create a robust support network for schools around the PE and School Sport Premium throughout the county, in line with the CSP s Sport England delivery plan. To support where required other school sport work for example Hampshire School Games activity and Satellite Clubs programme. To maintain a working knowledge of national workforce developments in sport and ensure that sporting organisations are kept informed of changes and best practice. To support the creation of robust systems for monitoring and evaluating the impact of programmes, communications and events within the department. General Undertake training and development as required for the post. Undertake performance appraisal in line with the organisations procedures. Ensure a responsive system of customer care is maintained to reflect the nature of the service. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of appointment deemed relevant by the Partnership. Some aspects of the post may involve working unsociable hours e.g. evenings and weekends. Person Specification: Assistant Project Officer (PE & School Sport) Essential Qualifications Educated to HND/Degree or equivalent level, ideally in a sports/education related subject Full driving licence/ability to fulfil travel requirements of the role Desirable Qualifications Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience Values and Behaviours Experience of working in Sports Development and/or a sports administrative environment Understanding and experience of project planning and development Familiarity with budgets Understanding of the structure of sport and the landscape within which County Sports Partnerships operate including key partners and stakeholders e.g. governing bodies of sport, local authorities, Sport England sports coach UK Knowledge of sports development Knowledge of PE and school sport Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Excellent organisational skills Excellent administration skills Information technology skills including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, web packages and social media Ability to assess priorities and work to strict deadlines applying flexibility of approach as required.
