Students wh have been successful in this ptin have demnstrated an ability t handle a fast paced learning envirnment. They pssess rganizatinal and time management skills and are highly mtivated individuals. ONLY cmpleted packets will be cnsidered (a checklist is prvided) Applicatins will ONLY be accepted between June 1 and the secnd Friday f Octber. ü Applicatins MUST be received by the Schl f Nursing Student Advising ffice (S235) n later than secnd Friday f Octber (10/9/15), pstmarked by Thursday. The Accelerated BSN is a 15- mnth, n- campus ptin fr students wh hld a bachelr s degree r higher frm an accredited cllege r university in fields ther than nursing. The Accelerated BSN has a nce a year start date. The first semester begins in May and cncludes the end f the fllwing summer sessin. Yu will attend a summer, fall, spring and summer sessin. Yu will bserve all regular scheduled MU breaks and hlidays. Yu MUST be able t articulate what the rle f a Registered Nurse is. Internatinal student; if yu an internatinal student nw r English is yur secnd language the TOEFL is required. Yu are required t take the TOEFL examinatin and pass successfully with a minimum scre f; Paper Based- 600; Cmputer Based- 250; Internet Based Passing the TOEFL des nt guarantee eligibility r admissin. Alng with yur nn- nursing bachelr s degree (may be in prgress while applying) yu must als successfully cmplete ALL seven prerequisite curses. Five f the seven MUST be cmpleted prir t the spring semester befre the May start date. If accepted there may be ff- campus rtatins and that yu will be respnsible fr making arrangements t attend. The clinical nursing majr is time- intensive and curse/clinical times will vary. Understand that yu may be placed int a nursing clinical curse sectin that may cnflict with ther activities r a jb yu previusly had been invlved with and that yu may need t rearrange these cmmitments t allw the pprtunity and time t d well as an MU clinical nursing student. Prerequisite curse requirements: Chemistry 2-3 credit hurs (des nt require a lab) Nutritin r Diet Therapy - 3 credit hurs Micrbilgy - 4 t 5 credit hurs (lab requirement) Human Anatmy 4 t 5 credit hurs (lab requirement) Physilgy 4 t 5 credit hurs (lab requirement) Statistics - 3 credit hurs Pathphysilgy 3 t 4 credit hurs (suggested this curse be taken the spring semester befre May start date) ü Nte: Prerequisite curses may be taken at any accredited cllege r university. Yur GPA will be verified thrugh the MU Admissins Office upn acceptance t the university. Official transcripts must be submitted t the MU Admissins Office. A cpy f all pertinent unfficial transcripts must be submitted with yur Schl f Nursing applicatin; highlight any prerequisite curse(s) fr reviewers. Yu must highlight n transcript any prerequisite curse. Only highlight the curses listed n yur applicatin (review full applicatin). Yu must have a nn- nursing bachelr s (at minimum) degree, either cmpleted r in prgress t cmplete befre the May start date. There are seven prerequisite curses. Yu must have cmpleted five f the seven prerequisites r have them in prgress t cmplete in the fall semester prir t the start date. If yu have nt taken the Pathphysilgy prerequisite, it is highly suggested yu wait fr the spring semester if accepted (als suggested yu take the curse n the MU campus).
