Applicants shuld have ver a 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA in rder t be reviewed by the Admissins Cmmittee. D I need t write an essay? Yes, an essay is required within PTCAS applicatin abut yur perspective n the prfessin f physical therapy. 3

4 On the supplemental applicatin, there is a spt fr anther essay, but applicants DO NOT need t cmplete this cmpnent f the supplemental applicatin. Are nline curses accepted? Nn-science pre-requisites (statistics, behaviral science, and psychlgy) may be cmpleted nline Science pre-requisites may have the lecture prtins (chemistry, anatmy, physilgy, bilgy, physics) nline but the labratry cmpnent must be taken in a traditinal labratry setting. D pre-requisites need t be taken at an accredited university r cllege? Yes. Regardless f nline r a traditinal classrm setting, pre-requisites must be taken at an accredited university r cllege. Curses taken at accredited cmmunity clleges are acceptable. Trade schl curses are nt acceptable. What are Temple University s DPT requirements fr the pre-requisite curses? The pre-requisites may be taken at an accredited 4 year university/cllege r a 2 year cllege Grades in pre-requisites must be a C r better (nt C- ) Pass/Fail grades are nt acceptable In rder t apply, an applicant must have cmpleted six (6) ut f the ten (10) pre-requisite curses. The remaining fur (4) curses may be cmpleted during the applicatin year (if applicable). Pre-requisites have an expiratin date f 10 years frm the date taken t the applicatin date. Advance placement (AP) curses taken in high schl if accepted by the undergraduate university will be accepted fr the nn-science pre-requisites nly. These curses must appear n the undergraduate transcript. A 3-credit Statistics curse Science: Tw Chemistry curses with lab any cmbinatin f general chemistry, inrganic chemistry, and/r rganic chemistry Tw Physics curses with lab. The physics classes d nt need t be calculus-based. A 4-credit Bilgy curse with lab. A 4-credit Human r Mammalian Anatmy with lab. A 4-credit Human r Mammalian Physilgy with lab. 5

Such curses include: Intrductin t Psychlgy, Persnality, Sensatin and Perceptin; Learning and Mtivatin; Brain and Behavir; Child Psychlgy; Abnrmal Psychlgy; r Cgnitin. Behaviral Science Curse with Emphasis n Grup Behavir 3 A behaviral science curse that examines specific area r grup behavir thery and practice. Intrductin t Scilgy, Scilgy f Race and Racism, Sexuality and Gender, Scilgy f Health Care, Marriage and Family, Scial Psychlgy, Cultural Anthrplgy, and Cmparative Religins are examples f curses that may be taken t satisfy this requirement. Physical Anthrplgy and technically riented Archelgy curses are nt acceptable. Statistics 3 Prbability; estimatin; classical statistical inference (thrugh t-test); mdern decisin thery. Chemistry with lab 8 Tw curse sequence that cvers matter, the changes that matter underges, and the laws gverning these changes, with greater emphasis n atmic and mlecular structure, chemical bnding, equilibrium and energy relatinships. One curse shuld be Chemistry I, the secnd curse may be Chemistry II r an upper level chemistry curse with lab. Physics with lab Bilgy with lab Human r Mammalian Anatmy with lab 8 Tw curse sequence that cvers fundamentals f physics, classical and mdern, including mechanics, heat, light, electricity, magnetism, and mdern physics. 4 One curse ffered by a Bilgy Department (r its equivalent) that includes a labratry prtin. 4 Study f the anatmical structure f the human mammalian bdy, with labratry.
