Please nte that the fllwing deadlines fr the admissin prcess are t be respected if yu wish t successfully apply t ur prgram. Applying fr BSL Applicatin Deadlines Business Schl Lausanne accepts applicatins frm qualified candidates thrughut the year. Start Dates Our prgrams start in September and February. When t apply? As sn as yu have decided that BSL is the right business schl fr yu, yu shuld submit yur applicatin. We d ur best t prcess applicatins up until the prgram start date, but are unable t guarantee a place fr anyne applying less than 30 days befre the start f a BSL prgram. VISA Advisry It takes between days t receive a visa fr studying in Switzerland. If yu require a visa, and want t be sure t start at BSL fr a specific term, yu shuld send in yur applicatin 60 days prir t the prgram s start date in February r September. If we receive yur applicatin less than 60 days prir t the prgram s start, yur ability t start will depend n whether r nt yur visa arrives in time. 1

2 Admissin Requirements BSL admissin requirements fr the Mdula Full Time MBA prgrams are: EITHER a bachelr s degree in business r in a business related area, frm a recgnized university r institutin. Candidates with a bachelr degree in anther field are eligible t apply but must cmplete BSL's prerequisite curses. OR significant wrk experience (fr prfessinals ver 30 years f age). Wrking prfessinals with careers fcused exclusively n ne area f business are eligible t apply but must cmplete BSL s prerequisite curses. In additin, admissin requirements include: Three years f prfessinal, wrking experience, including management experience (defined as having managed peple r a prject). Fluency in English at a TOEFL level f 90 r equivalent. GMAT r equivalent (nt mandatry). The successful cmpletin f a persnal interview with ur admissins fficer, either in persn r by phne. Admissin Prcess The BSL Admissins Cmmittee will nly review cmplete applicatins. A cmplete applicatin file must include the fllwing dcuments: Applicatin frm duly filled and signed Official Transcripts and cpy f the Cllege/University degree (Freign Official Transcripts must be certified by a legal authrity such as a public ntary, with translatin when necessary) An up t date curriculum vitae/resume (verview f studies, relevant wrking experience and activities) A cnvincing mtivatin letter/essay highlighting: yur perspective n yur prfessinal future reasns why yu wish t study business why yu believe BSL is the right schl fr yu Tw reference letters frm current r previus emplyers Tw identical passprt phtgraphs A cpy f yur passprt r identity card A cpy f yur student permit, if available After the Admissins Cmmittee has reviewed yur applicatin file, yu will be invited fr an interview and will be given the pprtunity t attend a class with ur current students and prfessrs. The interview will be cnducted at BSL r by telephne fr thse nt in Switzerland by ur Assciate Dean. The applicants will receive a final respnse within three weeks. 2

3 Terms and cnditins 1. Tuitin fee and payment terms: Tuitin fees fr Full Time Mdular MBA Prgram (1 year): CHF Tuitin fees fr Full Time Mdular MBA Prgram in Sustainable business (1.5 year) CHF The tuitin fees include: all printed curse ntes and cases studies where applicable examinatin and graduatin use f printers and Internet cnnectin The abve fees d nt include travel, accmmdatin, medical r accident insurance (please refer t the sectin Expenses ) Additinal fees: Administrative fee (nn refundable) CHF Additinal charges f CHF fr payments in installments are added t the invice in case the semesters are paid separately. Fees are payable accrding t the schedule n BSL s invice, which requires payment f ne semester in advance. In rder t secure a place in the prgram, and secure an entry visa n time, payment must be made upn receipt f the invice, in favr f BSL, Lausanne IBAN CH G with U.B.S., swift cde UBSWCHZH80. Fr thse wh d nt require an entry visa, payment needs t be made at least 1 ½ mnth prir t beginning the prgram. 2. Prcedure fr late payments and nn finalized study visa/permit frmalities: BSL reserves the right t suspend a student frm attending classes if the payment f the invice has nt been made in accrdance with the payment deadline. Students may als be suspended frm attending classes if they have nt finalized administrative matters with regard t the study visa r permit applicatin prcess. Balances which remain utstanding beynd the deadline fr payment may be subject t a 1% mnthly interest charge. The final transcript and the diplma will nly be released upn full settlement f the student s accunt. 3. Cancellatin Prcedure: If the request fr a study visa is refused by the Swiss authrities, BSL will refund all fees except fr Registratin and study visa fees. If BSL has cnfirmed either Preliminary r Final Acceptance and the student has paid the fees but subsequently wishes t cancel the applicatin, BSL has t be ntified f this decisin in writing and by registered mail. In the event f cancellatins being received by BSL n r befre the first day f the mnth preceding the first day f the semester in which the student is due t enter the prgram, BSL will be entitled t 25% f the fees due in respect f the entire Full Time MBA prgram. Payments in excess f this percentage will be refunded. In the event f candidates cancelling their applicatin after the first day f the mnth preceding the first day f the semester in which the student is due t enter the prgram, BSL will be entitled t 50% f the fees due in respect f the entire Full Time MBA prgram. Payments in excess f this percentage will be refunded. 4. Leaving the prgram Financial effects: If a student wishes t withdraw frm the prgram fr whatever reasn, BSL has t be ntified in writing as sn as pssible. The semester in which ntice is given and 50% f the fllwing remain payable. If a student is asked t leave the schl fr academic/disciplinary reasns in accrdance with the Student Plicy Manual r due t unpaid fees, the fees are payable as indicated abve. 3

4 Estimated Living Expenses Accmmdatin General Furnished apartments with bathrm and kitchen facilities range frm between CHF 950. and CHF per mnth. Guest rms with a lcal family are available frm CHF 600. per mnth. Accmmdatin Initial expenses It is custmary in Switzerland t have t pay an advance depsit (refundable) when yu enter int a rental agreement, cncerning accmmdatin. (This usually cnsists f an amunt equal t three mnths rent). In additin, the rent fr the first mnth f ccupancy is payable in advance. Medical and accident insurance A listing f sme medical insurance cmpanies may be btained. The cst is between CHF 100. and CHF 300. depending n benefits and age. Please budget a minimum f CHF up t CHF per year fr all expenses related t accmmdatin, fd, tiletries and medical insurance. Student Services SIEPS prvides assistance with all aspects f living in Switzerland. Tel BSL Relcatins BSL Relcatins prvides students with assistance in finding and changing apartments. The rganizatin is managed by tw BSL students. In additin t typical apartment searches, they are als able t prvide supprt in taking ver apartment leases (fr current students with apartments), as well as crdinating cllcatin with ther students. relcatins.cm Accmmdatin Campus Accmmdatin We recmmend that new MBA students cming t Switzerland fr the first time shuld stay in the Lémania Cllege accmmdatin fr at least the first three mnths. This will allw them t becme rientated in Switzerland while living in a friendly, internatinal envirnment with meals prvided. The campus is situated nly 10 minutes walking distance frm BSL. Lémania Cllege Tel Guest Family Families (French r English speaking) are selected by Lémania Cllege. Accmmdatin is generally in a single rm, with breakfast and dinner during the week, and three meals per day n weekends. Africa: all cuntries Asia: all cuntries, except fr students frm Brunei Darussalam, Japan, Malaysia and Singapre Oceania: all cuntries, except fr students frm New Zealand Americas: all cuntries Ntes: This list may be changed at any time. It is advisable t cnsult a Swiss Embassy r Cnsulate fr the latest update. Applicants frm all cuntries require a STUDY PERMIT t stay in Switzerland fr the purpses f studying. The STUDY PERMIT is applied fr n arriving in Lausanne. The applicant cannt be accmpanied by ther members f his/her family. A TOURIST VISA des NOT satisfy the abve requirements and des NOT authrize a student with a freign passprt t study in Switzerland. The Swiss authrities may require up t three mnths t prcess a study visa applicatin frm the date such applicatin is submitted t the Swiss Embassy/Cnsulate. BSL prepares all study visa and permit applicatins fr its students. Hwever, embassies and cnsulates prvide the infrmatin n the prcess t the student, nt BSL.
