Cmpletin f the Ph.D. level cursewrk and preliminary examinatins, prir t the dissertatin research, will require at least tw calendar years f full-time study beynd the master s degree, including practicum and experiential curses. This is fllwed by ne t tw years in dissertatr status. The curriculum and requirements fr the Ph.D. degree are established and apprved by the Rehabilitatin Psychlgy Prgram Area faculty. Master's Level Cursewrk Students admitted t the Ph.D. prgram in rehabilitatin psychlgy have already cmpleted a master's degree, typically in rehabilitatin cunseling, rehabilitatin psychlgy, r a related field. In mst instances the majrity f the fllwing master's level cursewrk r its equivalent will have already been cmpleted by the time f admissin t the Ph.D. prgram. Each student will meet with an advisr early in dctral study t identify any deficiency in master's level cntent and devise a mastery plan. A. Basic Psychlgy It is expected that all students will have a strng backgrund in a variety f psychlgy cntent areas, acquired thrugh previus undergraduate and graduate studies. The Graduate Schl prvides tw minr ptins. Optin A requires that the minr be taken within a single department and the requirements established by that department must be satisfied.
