2 SYMPOSIUM DESCRIPTION This conference will enable trauma clinicians to update their knowledge of current evidence based practices related to a wide variety of commonly occurring emergency conditions. In addition to prehospital resuscitation, expert faculty will present treatment strategies for pediatric patients with non-accidental trauma, and care of the mother and fetus when the trauma patient is pregnant. Special considerations for care of patients with traumatic brain injury, orthopedic injuries, conditions requiring plastic surgery and recovery from venomous snake bites will also be included. The program will conclude with an interactive panel of experts discussing special cases and responding to questions from the audience. TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience includes the various disciplines needed to provide optimal care to the injured patient, including nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, emergency physicians and surgeons, pre-hospital care providers, respiratory care practitioners, radiology technicians and other interested health care professionals.
