Pre-employment requirements: The successful candidate will be required to successfully complete a National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check; sign a Health Declaration and present evidence of right to Work in Australia. OVERALL POSITION OBJECTIVE Undertake the design, development, implementation and maintenance of web-based systems to provide effective quality online development services to all Diocesan Agencies, including CSO, CatholicCare and the Catholic Development Fund. 9. ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT Online services contribute to the development and implementation of organisational planning, policy, systems, business processes, and continuous quality improvement strategies from a planning, management and reporting perspective. The is responsible for the design, layout, updating and ensuring that the web sites and intranet support the mission and outreach of the diocese, and the respective units. 10. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Degree in Information Technology or Communications, or a Diploma in Web Design or Industry Certifications or equivalent industry related experience 11. COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Essential Experience in developing and deploying internet/intranet sites which deliver positive outcomes for the organisation Page 1 of 6
2 Experience with ASP.NET, MVC and Umbraco CMS (or.net equivalent) Demonstrated experience with frontend web programming languages (e.g. HTML, jquery, CSS) Experience with EDM technologies (Campaign Monitor, MailChimp, coding of HTML templates) Knowledge of social media outlets and their capabilities Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills including the skills to communicate technical matters to non-technical staff Experience with writing and preparing content for publication on the web (including E-newsletters) Ability to organise, prioritise and manage several tasks at one time in order to meet a deadline. Capacity to work effectively as a member of a team Ability to work within the mission of the Diocese Ability to use high level analytical and problem solving skills within a complex software environment and form conclusions and provide recommendations. Desirable Demonstrated experience using Microsoft SharePoint Technologies including Office365 Knowledge and experience with digital marketing, in particular Google AdWords and Google Webmaster tools including Analytics, Search Engine Optimisation Experience in HTML media production (photography and video) Ability to implement the latest innovations in online technologies including podcasts/video casts, interactive forums, electronic commerce and site optimisation for mobile devices Awareness of the ways that improved services can be delivered online across a broad range of sectors Graphic Design experience Knowledge of services/products relating to online technologies Ability to research and find information pertaining to trends in online information technologies 12. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Key Performance Area 1. Update the CatholicCare, CSO, CDF, Diocesan and mnnews.today websites and undertake other duties relevant & appropriate to the position Key Tasks Update the websites to reflect organisational changes and services offered Continually add new content which promotes the services and initiatives being offered, in consultation with the Communications Manager Provide support & advice to Agencies/Services in related matters where appropriate Provide website and intranet training to selected staff with administrative access to update certain parts of the website and intranet Assist in the production of standards and technical documentation around the web to ensure accessibility and good practice around web based information Performance Indicators All diocesan websites are kept up to date with current information reflective of the services and initiatives being offered Willingness to become engaged in other activities Staff are trained well in the use and updating of the respective websites and intranet Social media channels are active, engaging and promoted using different means. 3 Management/monitoring of new website features e.g. Creation of news articles, calendar items, Aurora issues etc. Fulfillment of duties as per Online Communications Officer role. Enhancement of new websites and identification of opportunities for growth: i.e. CSO Apply Now job facility, CatholicCare website update. Implement web portal services for other Diocesan systems as required, such as Client Management, Record Management and Business Intelligence Dashboard systems. 2. Produce and enhance online identity for the Diocese and CSO using social media outlets 3. Produce weekly e- newsletter Dio Update and collect relevant stories and information Make recommendations surrounding the Diocese, Bishop, CatholicCare, Aurora and CSO having an online presence in social media (including Facebook and Twitter) Maintain a social media policy and liaise with internal stakeholders and stakeholders for approval. Review policies as required Communicate with staff strategies to ensure best practice and harm minimisation around corporate use of social media Maintain online presence of CatholicCare, Aurora Magazine, mnnews.today. Develop on-line possibilities for the Diocese and CSO based on recommendations and approval Enhancement of Diocesan/CSO social presence of video-based Youtube content and upkeep of social media channels. Acting as a moderator resource on social media allowing Diocese and CSO to more actively engage community whilst minimising risks. General innovation around Diocesan and CSO marketing, promotions and social media. Identify key diocesan events that should be reported to the Editor in the Update and write news stories (in collaboration with the Management of Aurora and CatholicCare Facebook/Twitter channels Online media presence using social media for Aurora, Diocese, CSO and CatholicCare which is regularly updated Increased engagement of community to the Diocesan stakeholder groups Increased online video presence and development of diocesan video productions for websites. High-quality informative e-newsletter sent each Tuesday (within appropriate framework of the diocese) Increased growth of subscribers to the Page 3 of 6
4 ) Liaise with the Communications Manager and Team regularly in regard to the inclusion of certain material in the Diocesan Update against other possible avenues (Aurora, mnnews.today, press releases, social media) Diocesan Update with regular promotion Maintain and improve newsletter processes to speed production and share work. Identify topical information for inclusion in the Update Work closely with members of the diocese and community to identify events and information worthy of inclusion in the update and website news and events section Take opportunities to improve newsletter template in terms of both design and ease of construction 4. Maintain and enhance Google AdWords Grants campaign for CatholicCare Regularly monitor and update Google AdWords campaigns for CatholicCare and its programs. Identify opportunities for new campaigns and growth in accordance with changing needs of organisation Google Grants account remains active (requires login every 90 days) and drives users to CatholicCare website. New programs and events successfully advertised through Google AdWords Grant 5. Research, develop and maintain a Diocesan Intranet site Liaise with the Communications Manager and IT Service Manager to gather information on intranet requirements for each diocesan stakeholder Review the current intranet sites of the Diocese and CSO Research alternatives and new technologies, as well as new information architectures and intranet alternatives Implement a new Diocesan Intranet or update current site to meet acceptable standards, as well as reflecting new branding Based on the business requirements, develop sample site layouts for consideration by relevant stakeholders. Once approval has been given on the preferred layout, develop (or alter) the site to a production ready / live stage. Evaluate site with relevant stakeholders. Make modifications based on the feedback received Go live with changes to the intranet Relevant stakeholders consulted to ensure that their needs are met Research new technologies and alternatives and choose a suitable system to implement Sample layouts presented for consideration to Managers and the Executive with recommendations Results of evaluations used to refine the layout Site online and actively used. Continuous Quality Improvement and Planning Work with stakeholders to refine the online user experience Assist in the implementation of new online systems Assist in the regular review of online Services and their effectiveness Suggest strategies to improve online Service delivery Identify solutions to problems and develop recommendations for content on each agency s website Consider mobile friendly, responsive design and newer engaging technologies and implement Management/upkeep and monitoring of various online tools (AdWords Analytics, Webmaster Tools). Improve search engine terms, optimise content, creating re-directs for old site links Other marketing based tasks photography, video, writing and content creation Best practice online services provided Level of stakeholder satisfaction high 13.
